Shout outs to Corey and Barry for the inspirations to go for the EC coiler. I am sad my fellow hardbooter yasu has moved up to Colorado so I'll be holding it down out here in New Mexico although I can't wait to get back up to Loveland to hang with the Loveland carving crew. You guys were amazing! Extra shout out to @big mario and @Carvin' Marvin. I will hit you up Marvin for those accommodations if that's still available I call her my EECCC - Extreme esoteric carving coiler contraption. Thanksgiving will be my first day on her Man awesome board! We actually moved 75 miles west of where we were, but we have plenty of room now! We are about 1.5 hrs from Loveland , but you wouldn't have to fight traffic coming from the west.

Never seen Yellow in their lineup before Love my White 168 Alpine Kessler ....... and I'm sure you will too! Just be forewarned it's gonna snap into turns Much quicker and pop out of turns with More velocity than anything you've got...so don't let it launch you in the woods!!! Yes, the Kessler is a custom I ordered last May and received in June. The only difference from stock is the weight range, i.e. 60 to 80 kg. I can’t wait to get back on the snow at Crystal...maybe there’ll be enough in a couple of weeks. Do you have any down in the Sierra Nevada yet? 1xsculler
Simply emailing with Kessler directly got it done at what I think was a bit of a quiet time of the season for them. According to Kessler a stock Alpine 168 weight range is 65 to 95kg. I weigh 68 kg and I wanted to be sure the board would be on the softer side for me. The stock next size Alpine (171 = 55 to 80kg) is just about right for my weight but I wanted the 168 length built for my weight. I am undoubtedly splitting hairs but I think I got what I want. Bruce is basically my guy and if I don’t notice any/much difference between this Kessler and my new Coiler NFCE 170 (and I doubt that I will) I will return to being a full-on Coiler guy. Bruce’s boards are second to none in all aspects, IMHO. I thought of having one of you guys just send me your 168 K so I could try it out for a month but knowing that would be met with “NO” or no response the only way was to buy one. Hansjuerig (sp) made it easy.

1xsculler
The cost was just about $1500 or $1600 including shipping. A little embarrassing but it was only about 2/3 of my monthly SS check which is sort of free play money. My motto, “Don’t worry too much about old age as it doesn’t last all that long!” From the Kessler website: 168 65-95kg 171 55-80kg but the 171 is more of a GS board, I think. Jeffrey Day
My addition to my quiver for 2018/19 season! My new Coiler Angrry 160! And a lightly demoed 2018 Nidecker Stectre 157! Almost rode the Coiler this weekend, but didn't trust the coverage quite yet! Soon Grasshopper, soon!

Jeffrey Day
No, not BlueB's topsheet! I came up with the idea on my own and Bruce tweaked it to work on my board!

Neil, They are comletely different. The rocker-camber-rocker profile is totally different. On the Tanker 201, while the board is flat your running length is around 80cm (camber profile is only 5mm and runs just in front of to just behind of the insert packs). The super gradual rocker starts from those points up to the tip and tail where when you put the board on edge you get 156cm of effective edge. Creates a mellow and smaller turn initiation radius too as there are variable sidecuts incorporated into the overal 12.45 m sidecut. The Stranda has a running length of around 156 cm and when you put it on edge you get the full 170 cm effective edge with a 12 m sidecut and roughly 1 cm of camber. The nose has a gradual rocker to it and the tail has a slight rocker in it so that it does not catch when exiting turns. (Here is the explanation from Mats @stranda) As for the ride, both have fairly laterally and torsionally stiff cores and can carve very well, but turning and carving characteristics are dramatically different due to their unique profiles. I will try to get both boards out a bit to share with some other forum members so that they can possibly provide some better feedback, but for me, I will take both boards to the mountain daily to cover down on both snow and my personal condition for the day so that I have the best tool for the day. cheers, sandy Edited November 26, 2018 by svr
