Dave - look behind the spider. Duh!

Oh! Behind! In that case, I guess I found something...

Still gotta get my bootdoc liners foamed and whatever other bootfitting needs to be done and throw on my Booster strap. Just threw these spare Palaus in them so they can begin to form some shape.

Hello! Just took delivery of my first ever alpine board this week, a new SG Fullcarve 157 from last season. Not as sexy as all the customs on here but I can't wait to ride it this winter!

Sigi likes to call this board "watermelon"

SG makes awesome boards. There is always at least 2 SGs in my quiver at any point in time.

Don't get down that you didnt get a custom made board, especially if this is your first alpine. How are you supposed to know what you want out of the custom made?

Enjoy!

The topsheet on yours looks way more scratch resistance than mine was!   Really that was my on beef with the board....I swear every time I looked there was a new scratch in my carbon topsheet!!

Enjoy that groomer destroyer!

Yes Barry the new 2018-19. 🙂

Can't wait to try it.

The topsheet still looks fragile in a way. Time will tell.

Will try it with 12mm risers and steeper angles. The last JJA I sold was 25.5 waist and even with 20mm was a bit close.

This one is 25.4cm. Scr proprietary so who knows and looks like a million bucks.

Don't worry, I'm not down at all, just happy to have a new toy to play with. 😄 We'll see if i fall down the customs rabbit hole later on, though my wallet would probably thank me if i didn't.

With either a SG Full Carve 170 or Kessler 168, you don't need a custom. You can have a 'short' maneuverable board that exhibits GS characteristics in the FC170 or you can have a board that exhibits SL characteristics in a longer than SL length, stable board in the K168.

After trying ooooodles of boards, I can't see how anyone could want anything more than these serial, production, reasonably priced when second hand boards.

If anything, buy a 4x4 isolation plate that you can swap from board to board easily and call it a day.

I'll keep that in mind. Thank you for the advice!

I have a K168, I agree it’s everything I want for a “short” board. But I need at least 3 alpine boards, short, medium, and long. Kessler doesn’t make a stock medium freecarver, so that’s why I had mine made. I told them I loved the way my 168 rides and that I wanted a board just like it only longer. 175, 20.5 waist, 10-14m radius range. 168 is 8-12m. They nailed it. If I could only have one alpine board this would be it. Similar boards I’ve had are the Donek Proteus 175, Coiler Nirvana Energy 174. Both awesome, I’m just playing the field. Call it a midlife crisis.

Its a composite image I put together from two different Metallica gig posters i found doing a google image search looking for something that would work as a board graphic. I don't know who did the original artwork sadly because its great it reminds me a lot of Scoph who does art for the lib-tech magic banana i have. I spent about 80 hours in Photoshop repainting it in a resolution/size that would allow it to be used as the original images were to small and low res(300x880) and wouldn't have looked great scaled up. In addition to the repainting i also wrote Donek in ropes over the ram skull and rib cage. I spent alot of time on it but i'm not much more than talented forger painting a copy of the mona lisa from small polariod lol. Id say 95% the unknown orignal artist 5% me but i happy it turned out better than i could ever have hoped and matches the personality of how the board rides ie big scary and aggressive 😄

Kessler 168 w/TD3's in black-I purchased this last season but I had a shoulder injury which took me out for the season so I never had a chance to ride it.  I am recovering from a tib/fib fracture and it looks like I am out for another season so I just get to look at it all winter AGAIN!  I can not wait for a HEALTHY new year.
