Kessler 168 w/TD3's in black-I purchased this last season but I had a shoulder injury which took me out for the season so I never had a chance to ride it.  I am recovering from a tib/fib fracture and it looks like I am out for another season so I just get to look at it all winter AGAIN!  I can not wait for a HEALTHY new year.

Honestly you're not missing out on anything. That's literally the worst board ever. Look, I'll sacrifice myself and take it off your hands (for when mine dies 😂🤣).

Wow, that sucks.  Best of luck for a complete recovery!  Stay on track with your physical therapy and you'll come back stronger next year.

Off topic: Most PT programs are pretty conservative - aimed at couch potatoes.  The doctors at Barbellmedicine.com propose more aggressive returns to activity after any injury.  Here's an article and a podcast with some relation to that:

Been a while since I have been here...

Built myself a new board, very happy with the result 🙂

Titanal/ carbon laminate, maple core, 160 eff. edge, 14m radius. Can't wait to take it to the snow!

That’s awesome, Tim, welcome back!  What is it overall, 170?

That's pretty cool. Not many folks are pressing their own boards. Looks great!

Care to do a small comparo?

All 3 are great boards.  The Proteus 175 was a great balance of lively and damp, definitely an energetic board.  The 12m single radius sidecut (actually parabolic) was turny and liked to finish turns.  I wouldn't have sold it so soon but there was a scare that Bruce was going to retire so I wanted to get one last Coiler.  I got the Nirvana Energy 174, 12-14m.  Of the 3 boards this was the most laid back and "comfy", but it could still bring the excitement and air time between carves.  The dual radius VSR I felt had a smaller sweet spot, and protested if I wasn't in it.  On the other hand it was the most willing to let turns run long if desired.  This custom Kessler 175 (10-14m) is the stiffest and most energetic of the three.  It's stiffer than my stock 168 and 180, and launches me out of carves.  A thrill ride for freecarving, it is indeed a big brother of the 168.  Unlike Kessler race boards, it really likes to finish a turn.  There is something special about the KST sidecut.  Very smooth, does not reveal itself as a VSR, it just works.  Big sweet spot, great edge hold.  Not cheap, but glad I treated myself.  I'll have it until I grind through the base.

Poor guy. You sound distraught. Look, if you can't find happiness in any of your boards, I'll gladly lend you one of mine.

...

Just give me that Kessler. Jokes aside. Sounds great. Congrats.

Yeah, still it sounds there’s something a little different to kessler geometry. Way back rode a few and still own one, they are just different. Some of Palmer softboot boards had that Kessler magic in ‘em too. Sounding like they STILL have some special sauce not found elsewhere.

Can anyone explain what he does different? I know I like it but there’s never been much of explanation that I’ve seen. Other than the Palm said it feels like flying.

Its 173. It's the same eff. edge as boards I built earlier, but with a straight tail and short nose the overall length reduced by about 5 cm.

Great to see a lot of familiar names are still here!

I've no idea of the bindings make to be honest there in ok condition just dirty apparently the last time it was used was dry slope so it's not exactly clean.

This morning's adventure was actually my first ever experience riding in hardboots 😅. Going to play with the stance a bit and try again tomorrow.

Well, at least you're trying the pinnacle of futuristic wizardry and modern day technology!!!

Many years ago I picked up a Wild Duck from an Opportunity Store and a pair of Raichle AT boots. Never rode it and the boots were about size five billion. I then found out that Wild Duck was designed by the same people or one of the people who design the current model of Swoards!

lol that i wouldnt have expected either, changing the angles on the bindings just noticed there printed with made in switzerland..... The stance is super super narrow i have a feeling its for someone much smaller in height than me or stances back when this was made were just smaller in general

Picked up my, as Bobdea calls it "kid chasing stick" today. Complete with coiler graffiti done by my 12yr old son. He is ecstatic for it.

Did a few laps with Bruce today too, he makes it look so easy, like he is not even trying...

In all seriousness though, if you put the same words on a new board, it would be considered current tech...

Wood Core, Fiberglass Sandwich, Torsion Box, Carbon, Kevlar, Ceramic, P-Tex.......

yeah i noticed sharpening it there is titanal or some sort of aluminium alloy under the center 1/3 of the top sheet

Wait what? Are you sure your son isn't a fully qualified graffiti artist with many years of experience? Because it sure looks like that. I reckon Coiler or Donek would gladly offer his designs as stock ones. Looks awesome!
