New Board Porn 2021-2022

Chamonix Route 162 carbon split. I could not resist. With shipping $400 from House shop. I compared it to Jones ultra craft split I bought several years ago. That board is currently $1500. Chamonix has smaller side cut, bigger camber,  board is softer, but has a stiffer nose.  Ultracraft  nose was too soft for my taste.  I will see how it will work. They predict 15 feet at Sierra this week.

Yes, you can use the standard F2 disks by mounting them at an angle, which is how I did it in the early days. After a while I got bored with that because you don't know your precise angles, so I drilled two extra holes in each plate down the centre line as suggested. Of course now I've mellowed my rear angles (as suggested by someone kind here) and so the back one's off the scale at 35 degrees, but it's still more aesthetically pleasing to have the disks lined up.

Got fresh tracks pretty much all morning here at Big White, because I left the crowds behind in Whistler and my mate here knows where the goods are (well he's responsible for them being safe). There's about 20cms or so fresh on top of moguls and old tracked out stuff, so you're mostly riding the base, but sometimes it gets bottomless. The board rips at all that, so far so good. I think I won't want to give it back.

Just picked up the first ever Winterstick Squaretail Plus 170!  My USASA auction prize.  With a nod to the old Roundtail Plus 170, hehe…

170cm long, 21cm waist, 9-12-11m "Roboid" VSR sidecut, high camber, full Titanal/carbon, extra torsional stiffness between the feet.  We'll see if it can measure up to my beloved Kessler 168!  Based on their metal 162 I tried last winter, I'm optimistic.  Gonna be a good winter!

After Mark sent me pic of his personal 8rw Stadacarvious, I said, "You never should have showed me that, because now I want that!".

So, we ditched the white topsheet design already in process for my board.

My Strad's gonna be a bit bigger though.

This wasn’t my original topsheet either but when Mark sent a picture I was like “Good googly moogly take my money!” Thrilled with the way it came out.

At first, thanks to Bruce to build me this beauty in such a short time. Contra 162 somehow customized. I used graphic from my older Angry, changed it a little bit and this time I am very happy with correct placement. I can’t wait to try the board over weekend. I had again rather hard last for months, serious health problems and this board gives me new energy, now I am pretty much living in 6 weeks long periods. I just hope. So one more big thanks to Bruce.
