Love the specs on this. GS grip with SL radius.

Must be a bomb to ride. I hope to test it out on Nevins Camp in april 2022.

F2 Proto SL 163

Im probably more excited to ride my new F2's than the others I have.

I spent a lot of time on f2 back in the day.. I originally brought in three f2 196's from the factory then..

I would say that if I'm comparing it to something then the Kessler is almost identical. F2 though looks better and tactile feel is better.

The old tap on the board is nice and damp... As what you hear on a Kessler or custom titanal board.

The tune on the board is awesome.

Stiff, but hard to tell from just bench test as usually a shorter board will feel stiffer due to less nose and tail.

I'm impressed, I think I'll be paying more attention to the brand now again and won't hesitate to pull the tringer on a proto..

Thanks to Ivan at i-carve once again.. It's why we go back.

Yeah @Shred Gruumer! You have great history with F2. Love my current F2’s. They have come a long way. Impressive that a large manufacturer even cares to keep up with the specialized boutique brands.

F2 on top this week in Carezza!

Not only in Ladies racing.

Baumeister also dropped SG for F2.

In Bannoye he was second and in Carezza first.

Definitely interesting development as F2 has not been overly popular in the world cup recently.

It almost seems that the other makers are being complacent and lazy, not doing anything to improve their boards....

Intresting indeed..

SGs have not changed since 2010 at least.

The shapes and dimensions.

SG full carve and full race change only graphics from year to year.

Don't get me wrong the board rides great, but would be refreshing to see something new.

Might give an F2 a try next year, this year I am sticking with Nobile

Intresting indeed..

Looking at Kessler for example, their stock alpine shapes haven't changed for several years because race courses haven't changed.  I do wish they would add a 180-ish freecarver to their stock lineup like my latest custom 180/21/15m.  My favorite board ever.

The three custom Kesslers I've had have been the finest snowboards I've ever tried.  They are even better than their stock boards which are already incredible.  Hansjuerg has some magic going on over there.  I've never tried an Oxess or Virus but I'd say Kessler has perfected the state of the art as far as I can tell.  SG, Oxess, F2 are obviously right there too as evidenced in World Cup.  I think to go beyond what they're doing would require some novel invention not yet conceived.  Maybe the exotic materials in high end Viruses create a better board, I don't know, but they're dearly expensive and not seen much if at all on the World Cup.

That’s a great point. I was all about the race boards (Oxess, Kessler, SG, JJA) as they are proven boards but I felt that their shape lacked interest for me over time. I too wish they had more free carve fun board shape. @b.freeintroduced me to Virus and it has been fun and loving that exotic material, Zylon, Carbon and some magic dust 😆

I am thinking about selling my 180/20cm board and I can be reached through message 🙂

I got my Coiler based on mens GS board: shorter but wider @ 180/21 with 13-16m radius and it works great. Needless to say I got myself Virus and wasn't riding coiler since then.

ps. I also blame @b.freefor that.

A bad photo, this is a symmetrical board.

Burton Hometown hero. This is a 1.48 which is good at my weight, ridden with about 45/35. It's a tapered directional (despite what some of the marketing may suggest). Carbon fibre is mentioned, I'd guess that's for torsional stability (which is good). It's flexible (so good in bumps) but seems to still hold an edge well enough at speed.

I've ridden it so far at resort only mostly in hardpack, but I have it for powder. I've ridden the Skeleton Key for the last couple of seasons, and this is supposed to be similar... not sure until I can find some bottomless. On piste it's good - not quite a Kessler SL, but entirely capable of charging hard. Works well with a high edge, handles well, no complaints so far. In resort powder it rides well centred. I'm about 0.5cm in on the reference at both front and back here.
