crackaddict
Let's start this season's thread with a bang eh? Brand new Exegi Double-Wide Carver (in black)! These are the specs directly from the catalogue: 168cm long, 30cm waist, 14m average sidecut, 141cm effective edge, 3cm setback, 5mm taper... High torsion carbon and S-glass hybrid layup, full length sitka core, kevlar edge lacing, sintered graphite base... Exegi is one of only two manufacturers on the planet who can make a board with a 30cm waist. (I won't mention the other, but if this thing does what it's supposed to do, look for an x-wide Sabre SRT in the "For Sale" section early December - also in black.) This ain't no Knapton twin. This model is way stiffer; designed by Carlito for bigger, faster, deeper carves on the steeps, not for buttering around the green runs... No, I don't have huge feet, but when you carve hard enough you're gonna boot out any production "wide" board and I don't like the feel of risers under soft boots. The review is coming, right after the snow arrives. I have high expectations for this beauty.
TimW
Started building the first board for this year. The board will have a plate (and the stiffness distribution will be such that it will not be rideable without a plate) A bit hesitant on the design now after I realized 174 cm effective edge is extremely long. It did not seem extreme to add less that 10% to the 'go anywhere' 160 cm for my everyday board, but it is longer that any commercially available board I have seen. Edit: Ah, Thirst snowboards just gave me peace of mind... Edited October 7, 2019 by TimW

Look forward to hear some feedback on how that rides. I built a 27.5 cm board last year and would like to have less overhang, but a bit worried much wider will make it a too cumbersome. bigwavedave
I can play this game! Just took delivery of yet another Thirst! 171cm XC ~20cm waist ~11m scr ra Same board, different light. Corduroy graphic disappears and color turns deep purple in dim or flat light. Kinda crazy topsheet. I expect it will ride as well as well as other Thirsts. Something a little turnier than the Super. Having a full quiver of boards makes small mid-western hills more fun. @crackaddict Nice board to start the thread James! I was tempted by the 190ish , 23.5 waist all terrain board Carl was ridding much of the time. I never did get to ride one of his demo boards though, but really enjoyed hanging out with him.
Kneel
@bigwavedave, seems I had a delivery from Bay View, ID as well. Wonder what could be inside?

You will love it! I had the Superconductor and then got the XC, I didn't think 4cm length would be all that different but Mark built the XC to really crank turns and track straight when you need to glide through flat sections.

Kneel
@bigwavedave I have to admit, I'm a little disappointed. Not because I found these. I'm really stoked about those. Perhaps I'm a little disappointed because in my garage I had this on the right. Something just seems off. Like there should be something in between the right and the middle. There's always next year I guess... 2
scottishsurfer
no new board for me this year i need to new bindings and to pay for a holiday. On the birghtside the bindings should be nice and blingy karakoram connect ci
Kneel
This is getting ridiculous. It's been cloudy here for 5 days with a nor'easter spinning off the coast. Just 5 minutes of sun is all I ask to take the burkas off these boards and take a few pictures that might do these rides some justice... ThePeonsChamp
Looks like we need some water in here because we're getting real Thirsty. Can't wait to try this bad boy out! First Thirst for New Mexico! He added a little New Mexico flair to boot with our beloved Zia symbol. I am so happy with the result. 8RW 18.7cm waist. It'll be the narrowest waist I've ridden yet as per Mark's recommendation so I said why not! If the virus boys can ride 17cm why can't I ride a 18.7? Should be interesting and quick edge to edge.
snowwjob1
Got these in May and got a few turns. But are really for this year. Thanks to Bruce @coiler for the raffle prize from #Montuky2019.

Carvin' Marvin
There is a strict no gear policy this season at our house, but holy jeebus that purple topsheet on Dave's Thirst made me thirsty again.

Carvin' Marvin
Hey man ankles doing pretty good. Should be ready by the time season really gets cranking. Its circumference is a few cm smaller now so I actually do need some liners. Seriously contemplating picking up some overtime for a shiny pair of zip fits. We need to figure out a plan to ride this season. 1
Kneel
Dunno. Perhaps I just suck at pictures. But this just doesn't capture what's going on with his top sheets. As good as they look, they are even more spectacular in person... "Color me GONE.."
