I have always had a thing for veneered topsheets. Started way back in the 90’s when Burton had a few boards with it, FreeSurf and then Arbor. Mats Alpinepunk had some nice looking boards as well. Oh and don’t get me started about Wintersticks wood topsheets, so hot. Ok, ok, I have some issues 4 hours ago, Neil Gendzwill said: I have a ‘94 Asym Air with the wood top, I’ve always loved the look of that board. Dave’s new Thirst is gorgeous. Thanks for the comment guys. I've always been intrigued by those classic split-tails, WinterStick, AlpinePunk, Pogo, Powstick, and even Fawcett's split-tail burner. Never rode one. Last summer I placed an order for a 181 PC split-tail after Mark assured me I would like it for carving as well as surfing powder. We were working on a topsheet design when he sent me a picture of this smaller version he was making for himself. While awaiting building supplies he decided to use some wood scraps and make a "MARKetry" topsheet design. He sent me pics of the finished board and I couldn't stop thinking about it and then I heard he had to sell it. I resisted for awhile and well... So, it was just one run, but after the first tentative turns getting a feel for the board, I locked into a turn and took off linking smooth, effortless turns to the bottom. Reminiscent of the rush I felt with my first ride on a Superconductor. I believe the PC design was instigated by @Algunderfoot , a split-tail connoisseur who rides scary things like this... Spirit Mt is closed M & T, so it's an opportunity to make some fresh tracks if you're willing to work for it (plus there's nobody there ). It was also an opportunity for me to try the new Thirst split-tail, and...it works! Sure, I could have ridden any carving board, cause it wasn't that deep, but, my oh my, some of the best turns of the season so far! It was leftover ungroomed snow underneath. It just floated over and sliced through any underlying crud making sweet, smooth turns. Plus it doesn't hurt to have a diagram of how to make nice tracks inlayed into the topsheet. Thanks Mark, I think I'm keeping it, but you can ride it if you make it out here this winter. The really pornographic shots of the PCjv are here... I could have used it in VT this week, and yeah, there was a text from Mark as soon as I pulled into the lot at Stratton on Thursday morning. This was out my window. That's a standard 36" deck rail in the background for reference.

And I think he's giving them a Faststik® treatment before they go out the door too. Ready to ride. Now let's see what's inside.

It was an extremely tough decision for me between this and the Superconductor. I ended up with the Super only due to its length and my bias toward a longer board. Hope to have Mark build me an SF in 2021
