lowrider
You can get Bruce to poke any number of holes in your new deck. I just don't understand this.
breeseomatic
You can get Bruce to poke any number of holes in your new deck. I just don't understand this. What are you trying to say? The Gecko plate uses the standard 4x4 mounting pattern, no extra holes needed.
GeoffV
hmm I have that same board minus the gecko setup...must be a slightly different flex pattern. I'll ask the master
breeseomatic
I have almost the exact same board coming. Nirvana vCam, T+ 174cm 12/14 with additional UPM inserts for my boiler plate. I wonder how the Gecko plates ride?
breeseomatic
And it's a smoking good deal when you factor in the exchange rate.

Hans
What is it about those Gecko's? More pressure, more control in mixed snow with less weight than a plate?
Apex Insider
Hans and others who are curious about the Geckos: We're working on a demo program for Gecko plates. After all, the proof is in the riding. If any BOLers are interested, send me a PM and I'll put you at the front of the list. You just cover the cost of shipping and we'll send a plate out. As for the Coiler Special Edition, we don't want to risk sending demo snowboards around the world, but they will be available to ride at SOS (Ontario) and we'll very likely be at Nakiska Expression Session and Mont Blanc, Quebec for a demo day. If you're wondering, Bruce rode the Geckos last season, hand picked the Nirvana VCam as the "right" board match and modified the flex on the Nirvana to suit the Geckos. Beauty Carbonium topsheet. The photos do not do it justice. Henry
slopestar
Demo to buy plan? I'm into it but I'm mainly on wide freecarve/BX boards.
buster
they also have a bx and freeride version, no excuse.
AcousticBoarder
If my skill level was higher I would say sign me up for that demo!
Apex Insider
I should have done this from the beginning. Now I have an unmanageable combo of PMs and emails. I've created a mailing list for the demo program: http://eepurl.com/bb3hef You can sign up for updates here. You'll also get any general Apex Sport spam. Sorry about that. There's no way for me to segment it. We only send an average of one mailing a month. If I've already added you manually, you'll get a message stating that. *important*: Make sure you check off "Gecko Demo Program" at the bottom of the form. pow4ever
Gecko FAQ: Q: What kind of bindings can I use with the Gecko?A: Use any binding you want as long as it's 4x4 compatible.http://www.apexsnowboard.com/gecko-faqs.html#Q6 Might be premature optimizing: Any opinion on the following setup? price/convenience aside. Gecko plate + regular TD3 vs Gecko plate + regular TD3 BP/Plate version vs Gecko plate + TD3 SW regular vs Gecko plate + TD3 SW BP/Plate version Plate: more damping, provide isolation BP version: lighter weight/lower total stack height SW: better side to side flex I would think plate + td3 BP plate version would be a good place to start? BP/Plate version: http://bomberonline.3dcartstores.com/TD3-2nd-Board-Kit-BP-Version-_p_235.html Edited October 31, 2015 by pow4ever
Apex Insider
Sent a mailing yesterday explaining the demo program. If you didn't see it, check your spam. pow4ever, I've never used the SWers and I think you want to keep the stack height and weight to a minimum. The Geckos already raise you up 15mm. Going a much higher is not a good idea. Also the Geckos give you dampening so you don't need any additional dampening layer below the binding plate. nekdut
Whats the width on the plate itself? How narrow of a board will it comfortably fit? Edit: Nevermind, I see in your FAQ that its been tested down to 18cm, Thanks! Edited November 3, 2015 by nekdut
