  1. Have fun everybody! Looks to be an epic good time!
  2. Just follow around your favorite rider and the AFC Aspen session and monkey-see monkey-do for free. I don’t see why they wouldn’t be in a helpful mood either.
  3. ****! I mean come on. I just want to say ****. What is this, kindergarten?
  4. @moosehas had my red springs on loan for like three years. Moose if you see this, send them to @dredman!
  5. @dredmanhave you had any titanium intecs fail on you? I’ve broken two boards but never a binding or boot part. I generally ride like a 210lb raped ape and I kick the bejeezus out of my rear binding before every run to clear the snow off. Maybe the play between the nuts and the threaded portion of the bail helps in some way? Semi-pertinent de-rail question- as the bindings get older I’ve noticed I have to adjust those stupid toe bail height adjusters more often. Anybody tried loctiting those into submission?
  6. Like Phil, but I don't think my rear ankle will even flex enough to get into the fully forward position so its somewhere in between, but basically as forward as possible.
  7. Man that sounds super fun but I'm off snow for a couple weeks due to some family obligations. Can't wait for the next time though
  8. Haha no target intended! I've had a few people try it out where it was apparent within half a run that their time would be better spent pursuing a less dangerous endeavor.
  9. My brother (720 level park rider) was the same way. First run and linking clean turns no issue. He had no desire to get back on it after that because its just not what he's into. Some natural athleticism and spatial/body awareness goes a long way in hardboots. For those that lack those traits, well.......... it's usually pretty obvious at first.
  10. Sorry fellas I won't be able to make it for this one. A few post work turns yesterday evolved into all day black/double black powder laps when they opened Grouse mountain on us. I am absolutely wrecked.
  11. Better yet just get off Facebook. Stop giving that lizard leverage in this world. Facebook is mind cancer. It is unfortunate that the marketplace is outcompeting Craigslist.
  12. I'm on the fence. If the post-work laps at Beav in the morning don't kill me I'll try to make it out Sunday.
  13. Yes, the steep angles will cause issue with lack of lateral support in the soft boots. A member here rides 45/45 with softies but he uses a third strap and is on a wider board (whatever burtons are, 25,26cm?). There are better options out there for your giant self.
  14. I'm on my Thirst 8RW 90% of conditions. Have a Jones Hovercraft I use for powder that I regret not bringing out today.
  15. I get what you're saying, but ultimately it comes down to personal preference. I rode bombers for several years but F2s work better for my riding style. Yes, I've tried them again since. I'm an obligate hardbooter for all conditions and there's too much energy transfer off piste with the bombers. Making an "off" landing on F2s is much easier on the knees and the ankles. I wouldn't be against having a set of bombers if I just wanted to carve all day. Glad to see the debate will never die. Ok, Mr Zylon. Wish I could say the same! Just giving you some friendly ribbing, you know I have nothing but respect for you. Hopefully we can take some turns. If you got an epic pass hit me up for some Beav
  16. Define "better" The F2 race titanium are going to work for 95% of people just fine. I'm with Slapos on the SG. I don't see the point in spending double the money for a modified F2. I've put my F2s through more abuse than most and while you need to replace wear items, they are strong and reliable. If you like American made, shiny, tough aluminum bindings then you obviously must go with the Bombers. Little pieces on the Bombers aren't going to wear out like the F2s.
  17. Went Monday and Tuesday. Effin incredible. Fast, soft, tons of powder hidden away. Beaver is back on the menu, boys.
  18. I'm not entirely sure what you're asking, but yeah the rear knee shouldn't be locked in any position, especially extension, for any reason while carving unless I'm doing it wrong. Seems like a fitness or strength issue. Build the supporting muscles and stretch to take strain off the cartilage and ligaments.
  19. I didn't even know that was a thing, but it works for me.
  20. You actually might be onto something. We could use guitar style adjustable truss rods to adjust torsional stiffness on the fly. Getting to the adjustment nut might take some getting used to at first.
  21. Snowboarding is cool and all but I need to know more about this SNOWBOARD SIZED surface plate you have access to. I'd like to lay down on it and check my personal camber. It definitely seems to be sagging as the years turn over.
  22. PSA I hate to be that guy but I would skip the Rat until all these travelers leave. We are seeing a disconcerting amount of COVID at the Vail Hospital with the majority of the cases being from out of state. Our positivity rates are nearing 50%. FIFTY ****ING PERCENT and we are running hundreds of tests per day. Be safe out there, wear your seatbelts, don't talk to strangers, take care of yourselves, stay the hell away from the hospitals and children.
  23. Haven't been yet. So much more terrain open at Vail. Theres only a few groomed blues open and the red buffalo greens. Vail has the groomed blacks on 2 open
  24. Mine have about five seasons on them. I'm heavy and relatively strong so I'm more worried about the plastic case more than anything. This is my first pair so I kind of forgot what a new pair feels like. Hopefully I will see you at Loveland tomorrow and you can tell me what you think! The only thing that scares me away from the fintecs in their notorious slipperiness. We have to do a lot of village walking round these parts. But yeah, its cheap insurance compared to the other investments in this sport.
