  1. Not as warm. Better in all regards except cost and warmth. Call up the guys in Carbondale and they will let you go fondle their wares.
  2. I’m here for you if you ever need to talk. I’ll off my unsolicited dissenting opinion. This summer I committed to not doing any exercise I don’t find fun and this is the best shape I’ve been in 10 years. Which happens to be pedaling a non electric bike as hard as I can followed by jumps, bumps, and berms.
  3. Anyone flying into Kalispell on Sunday and leaving on Friday? Looking to hitch or split a car to and from Libby. Won’t need a car throughout the week so trying not to rent the whole thing by myself. The LCI may be able to scoop me up but I like contingency plans.
  4. I imagine it would help prevent burn out but you’ll need to be doing some more dynamic strengthening as well.
  5. I was in the same boat as you. Perfect boot fit everywhere except for severe pain over tailors bunion. The shell needed expanded right where the latch hardware is. I did it myself via a little grinding then I made this reverse screw shoehorn thing and used a heat gun for heat. It has held for at least 10 days. Probably not the smartest move doing it myself but I’m dumb and like to take chances.
  6. He does have a very impressive ability to slow down time. Are there no steeps in Asia? I feel like most of the Japanese and Korean videos are filmed on the bunny slopes.
  7. It seems that some of y’all are the type that reads playboy for the articles. That joy division coiler is effin rad.
  8. 100% deliberate. You can almost see his two neurons forming the thought process. Prime bungholery right there. If that constitutes getting to close to a stopped skier I would have bands of pitchfork laden skiers chasing me down every run.
  9. Haha had me going for a second there. They can keep their snowboarding ban. Good satire.
  10. Crossposting for posterior posterity. Thank you for helping get video
  11. Sunday with the Goons just goonin’ it up
  12. Rachel’s coming too so we will need to grab two tix
  13. I’m definitely in. We will be bringing stuff to grill hot dogs, beer, and some other stuff. I’ll need to meet someone for a ticket as well. @Kneel There really isn’t anything you can’t put the pork roll on. Pork roll fried rice was really good. Im still working through my first pound so when that’s done I’m expecting the track suit to show up in the mail.
  14. Conditions were NICE today. Remember Vail sucks and it’s super crowded. I don’t know how anyone has any fun here. Wink face. Thanks to The Lovely Wife for the footage. We will get a real camera for next season hopefully.
  15. Y'all's music isn't loud enough, apparently. I turn mine down when I'm under way, but I make it loud in the lift line because the novelty of talking about my gear with the kook brigade wore off years ago. I'm not exactly known for being warm and fuzzy so YMMV. I do like it when the little old ladies and old heads talk to me though. I don't have any love left for Thad, Brad, and Tad from Ohio State on spring break.
  16. Rachel and I are wanting to come up next Sunday 3/27 for some Birthday laps and will likely bring some provisions for a small cookout if that sounds appealing to anyone
  17. That’s a heck of a deal. I’d snag that in a second if our hills were smaller. Is it goofy or regular?
  18. Yeah poor guy. I at least made eye (goggle?) contact with him before committing. People say he’s still skidding down to this day. Rifle and Grand Junction are just a few miles down the highway. We are slowly assimilating into their society. Nah I just told Mark I wanted something that I could absolutely wham on and 25-30% stiffer than my 8rw. My 8rw performs flawlessly up to about level 8/10. I wanted something I could ride all out and not worry about going out of its performance zone. He took it from there and nailed it. I don’t really know how to describe torsional stiffness. It goes left and right really well! It feels extremely stable under load. The faster you’re going the more the energy needs to be managed with the legs rather than just going for a ride. The 8rw feels like it conforms to the small and medium bumps in the snow like they aren’t there. The Manana is less forgiving until you’re doing 25mph on edge. Need to be more careful with turn placement in variable terrain due to it wanting to turn anything into a ramp. It lands jumps really tight on edge.
  19. Heck if I know. Something something magic core. Quiet is not a word I would use to describe it. Check my review video. It screams. If New Jersey was a snowboard this would be it. Sorry @Kneeland @big mario, the pork roll coursing through the veins is keeping NJ on the brain. Cool board, but doesn’t it get heavy with all that superfluous material on the nose and tail? Wink face.
  20. I wanted to give this one it’s own thread since the board looks like a superconductor, smells like a superconductor, but it doesn’t really handle like a superconductor. More like the superconductors cousin that has a meth problem and mishandles firearms. I’ve put about 50k of vert on it in everything from overly soft snow to two day old freeze thaw groom. It’s been a weird week here. I initially asked Mark for something that will take the abuse I’m trying to dish out. My 8rw always felt uneasy when I’m really jumping on it so I wanted something super stiff but still has that Thirst ride. As you can see in the video you can really jump on the front and it just eats. Lighting fast turn transitions, the desire to go airborne, and it has a palpable need for speed. I should apply for my light aircraft license given all the time I’ve spent airborne this week. It’ll go slow-ish but it really wants to move to decamber the center. It is the best groomer board I’ve ever ridden performance wise. Like a longer MK and a 8rw had a child. I thought it would be tiring to ride but it really isn’t. I was able to do 5 days in a row and I only feel like a small sedan ran me over. Today, given my lack of energy and weird afternoon snow, the 8rw would have been the better choice but when the snow isnt super cut up you better believe I’ll be carving my nanner. It loses some of that crappy snow magic that the other Thirsts I’ve ridden have (mostly at slower speeds), but you can’t have it all given the large step up in stiffness. I only took it into some side trees once but didn’t like the slow speed maneuvering. I was still able to go full force carves down some push piles interspersed with firmer snow today, and it has so much pop that I was getting much more air off my usual side hits and roller airs. The video is on (still good) post 1pm groom. The stiffness also raises the minimum turn speed up a bit. I would not recommend one this stiff for most people but if you can handle it and have other versatile boards then I say go for it. Yes I know I came too close to that stopped boarder. By the time I noticed he was stopped there in my line I had about half a second to decide if I wanted to kill myself on a tree, kill my wife and possibly myself, kill the snowboarder and possibly myself, or shoot the gap. Spring break has arrived. I’ll be more careful next time. The “oh my god” from the lift on the first clip is a nice bonus. I’d show you a toeside but everyone likes to film on the right side of the trail and they aren’t that good anyway. The run is Centennial at Beaver Creek for reference.
  21. Photo credit @svr was a great group today! More to come
  22. The jacket yes, the boots were an afterthought. The three different yellows all together look………..horrendous! My friend's kids started calling me the banana man because of the coat. That’s what kicked off the board design.
  23. Nah that’s my 8rw. The snow was way too soft for the Manana. I took it out in also-too-soft conditions on Friday. It was wild. First real test tomorrow on some firmer snow.
  24. Any board can be bent to a 0m radius if you try hard enough. That 7m board will turn tighter if you are just riding the sidecut but the flex pattern will also determine turn tightness and shape when you’re actually pressuring it. Just buy both snowboards and YOU tell US what you think! As long as there is food in your mouth and the bank is getting paid then who cares? Treat yo self. But really you should probably get the Kessler since the rev ain’t gonna be that different from the one you already have. Godspeed in your search of the perfect hard charger and turny little bandit!
