  1. Let’s call it a 360 carve to double axel. I’m trying to come to Loveland 4/23.
  2. My beloved Angrry suffered a rider induced bend? Wave? Magnetraction? Bruce made me a homage to my old board since it filled a big spot in the quiver. 165 Angrry asym 21cm wide, teal. Love the gloss top will be a bummer when it’s all scratched up this afternoon. She’s a turny little bandit! (Trademark @barryj) update: did a 1080 carve on it and rode away . Was spinning like a skater and couldn’t stop
  3. Just another Wednesday and they groomed a lot of the highlights at the Beav. Had to get some day old too. @b.free and @yamifumi are the other rippers. Perfect weather and snow.
  4. Sounds suspiciously like something an anesthesiologist would say!
  5. Whoa I said I like riding challenging conditions, not going to the hospital!
  6. I was actually getting a tad bored riding good groom this year so I started seeking out 1-2 day old groom to improve my riding. Holy cow did it work and I even ended up having a lot of fun doing it. Body position and turn placement became amplified causing any mistakes to come to the surface. I almost prefer old groom to fresh bad groom.
  7. Thanks everyone. I feel extremely fortunate that the guy didn’t use my head as a big air jump. It was close. Especially after hearing @barryjand others stories. I work at the trauma center in Vail so there isn’t a work day that goes by where I don’t see at least a few major injuries. I had definitely gotten way too comfortable and learned a valuable lesson in self control and awareness. I think the image of that guy starfishing down the mountain will be burned into my brain forever.
  8. I’m going to need to you smell my boots to check if my natural foot flora is good for carving.
  9. Show me on the doll where the lifty hurt you. Y’all sound like a bunch of crabs!
  10. I’m with @Neil Gendzwillon this one. Don’t be the dork on hardboots getting in the way and rutting up the park. Be the dork on hardboots tweaking a sick method!
  11. I thought I should share my experience yesterday in hopes that someone may avoid the same situation in the future. I was riding at Vail on my usual lift. Sunny skies, lightning fast snow, big long Coiler. I took the same line down the same run 6 times. There was nobody on it every time and I was just crushing it. There is a particularly steep and fun part of the run. My 7th time down it there was a skier standing on the ridge where I usually drop in. He saw me and delayed his start so I rode over the ridge going pretty fast but more in the center of the run than typical. After my initial turn I saw a group of kids so I whipped back on heelside sooner than I wanted to then BAM!!! A skier hit me from behind going full speed right as I was at apex force in my turn. I was so low to the ground that his skis ejected underneath me and I watched him do four somersaults down the face. His hat, goggles, and GLOVES all ejected from his being. Luckily he jumped up and gave me a thumbs up and we talked it out. He was very apologetic but I had no harsh words and was just glad he wasn't gravely injured or worse. He said he never even saw me and was fixated on the same group of kids I was trying to avoid. It is a miracle neither of us were hurt. This situation was caused by complacency on both our parts and was easily avoidable. I should have known by the guy at the top of the ridge that there may be danger lurking. A slight pull back in speed to check would have avoided this. Be safe out there!
  12. Nothing wrong with your board or equipment. The Dart will rip carves. Focus on technique. At MCC there was a dude doing stuff on a short pow board that people couldn’t do on hardboots. Take advice here with a grain of salt. Have the money and like boards? Heck yeah get one then.
  13. If you have the dough then beaver creek/vail or Aspen all day. Fly into ege or the Aspen airport. Odd one is right about the Beav terrain. Some of the best beginner runs anywhere and some of the steepest groom anywhere. Steamboat is nice but pretty remote
  14. I have plenty of long and short screws and some used t nuts. I’ll bring them tomorrow
  15. Yeah that’s part of the F2 life we live. I personally wouldn’t go hunting for alternatives. They are already made of high quality stainless and shaped exactly for the binding. They are disposable and should be treated as such and replaced. Have replacements available and check frequently. I bet I could extrude a brass one through the baseplate like a noodle.
  16. You’re at least gonna have to take me on a date first.
  17. I like 20-21. I feel like any narrower and my mechanics change a bit. I like my 19cm but I wouldn’t go any narrower. The best way to find your preference is to spend thousands of dollars and years of your precious life to find your preferred wait width down to the millimeter.
  18. @skhil you’re getting trolled
  19. I ran into my buddy from work riding at Vail today. My usual videographer fled winter and the weather was nice so we made a video. He was on his way to ride trees and pow but he decided to rip some. Snow was a little soft and my jaw hurts from smiling.
  20. Agreed. Those two are my biggest riding inspirations. The two most fluid riders I’ve ever seen. My riding took off when I started riding with the LCI trying my best to copy Kevin with Derek’s coaching.
  21. Here a picture of my big pair of ruts for reference
  22. Per Rachel- #BigButtsBigRutz I tried this with @b.free and unfortunately he also has some pretty big ruts. This is a legitimate concern. All I can focus on is my ruts lately.
