  1. I have full tilt's interpretation of the pro wrap (intuition foam, but other stuff). I like it, except full tilt's interpretation is too soft for me. I also have a very high volume foot, so the lack of moldable foam in the lowers is a benefit for me.
  2. Black looks like trees, even in daylight. I've watched people in darker clothing coming toward me. They just look like a moving tree or rock until they get closer. In a number of collisions/close-calls I've been in, during my life time, the person mis-judges the speed/trajectory (they have seen me, and thought they were good to go). I'm going to assume that the impact speed would've been higher if they just never saw me. And the close-calls would've been closer, or impacts.
  3. The most visible colors are red/orange/yellow. For any other color, even if it's bright. Watch them ride away. They will look like the trees in the distance, or like the snow. You want to look like neither. I've seen pretty obvious colors like blues look like trees once they got far enough.

    Yo Lci!!

10" of fresh pow at a crowded megapass resort is nothing after 30 minutes. It's still fun riding tracked pow. But riding untouched/mostly untouched pow requires $$$$, or going to more remote mountains.
  5. I'm so glad I don't have to snowboard. It's starting to feel like a job. I'll probably snowboard on Tuesday.
  6. Another collision and near collision today, at Copper. No injuries from the collision, but the skier just skied away. One collision and two near collisions the day before, at Copper. Again, no injuries.
  7. Holy shit. I am just reading this. Heal fast and correctly. This blows and you are giving me major OCD when I ride Copper tomorrow.
  8. Those dam CASI level 4's!
  9. I think this is related to "saccadic masking". I sometimes look twice on my toe-side, I just don't trust myself to catch everything. AND I STILL GET CLOSE CALLS. I am terrified during touron dense periods, like spring break, USASA nationals, etc.... I know some people here trust their vision of catching everything on each turn, and will continue the run with someone behind them. I will almost never do that. https://navalsafetycommand.navy.mil/Portals/29/LL 18-18 Why Don't We See Motorcycles.pdf https://scienceofbeingseen.org/2021/11/06/invisible-motorcycles-its-magic/ My take is, if you spend enough time on snow, you are almost guaranteed a collision. I will do as much as I can to prevent it. But statistically, I'm in for another collision. I got whiffed the other day at Loveland from a guy that saw my run. We looked at each other, I started carving, he was watching, watching.... turn turn turn... freeride-world-tour brah straightline pass. I didn't even see him coming despite checking every turn.
  10. @MR. JOHN DEERE ! is a board destroyer! He sent one of my Tankers into the afterlife. I now have room for another board .
  11. Which is also why it should generally work for other people, lower volume feet! I suspect crap liners or just an intolerance to the sensation of the toe touching the end of the boot. I wondered about this as well. I wonder if you are sensing the cavernous heel pocket. It's ****ing huge on Deeluxe. My less than one finger shell fit feels like two before I get down to the very bottom, and I have to cram my arm in there and do some weird contortions. Fwiw, the MountainSlope A shells fit fantastic with my powerwrap liner molded to Deeluxe 24MP boots.
  12. No black toenails or lost toenails. My feet always run cold, so I'm not sure. They're as warm or as cold as other people. I do not curl my toes. Shell test, I may have half a finger width? or less? Intuition liners really do pack out quite well in places for high volume (powerwrap/prowrap). If I went custom foam and did custom shell work, I may possibly be able to do 23, but then I would have binding issues.... It's probably for the best as Deeluxe's have huge heel pockets. I would never ride a 25MP boot for hardboots, no way. Extra info: the stock liners that come with Deeluxe are crap and there is no way I can ride in a 24MP boot with it, but it was more from my feet hurting from not as much room for width, not length. I size up 1 MP for streetwear for toe room. So US 8.5.
  13. I downsize on 25.6 cm foot to 25MP boots for softboots. 24 hardboots. Still feeling my ankles and it has died down, but I'm waiting for it to totally go away. In the mean time, I gave the reds to someone who hates leverage if it compromises their riding for freestyle maneuvers. The red tongue doesn't affect them at all.
  14. Update: I've been getting really bad pain on my front ankle. The bone growth there is thicker, and it's without the powerrides. I have no idea if the powerrides caused it initially or not, but the liners were definitely spent. I actually had to ride one powder day with my laces and bindings loosely done. I molded an old pair of once molded powerwraps from 3-4 seasons ago into my softboots. Holy shit. The response might be too much for me, and most importantly, no pain. I may try the powerrides again once the spur dies down along with a softer, and lower volume liner. Again, holy shit. The liners are important in softboots.
