AcousticBoarder
I keep seeing all these new fancy boards in the board porn thread with some killer custom top sheets... Are there some members of our community that do these?

scottishsurfer
I'm just a jack(hack) of all trades i do a bit of everything for the most part, so heres a couple of bits more of the topsheet im currently working on. Logo i did for my friends company texture sheet for the hull of the T-80u tank model thats at the bottom Album art for my friends band Close up of Donek thats hidden in the ropes of my current boards graphic. In game picture of the T-80U that i worked on. *if you click the image and click again youll get the full size version* I could never do anything artistic for a job because im way to slow and i dont want to get burnt out again or hate it's pretty much the same reason ive never wanted to be a snowboard instructor. I enjoy my current job alot anyway Edited March 23, 2021 by scottishsurfer
Wolf
Not in the same league at all as Scottishsurfer, but I did use my monocrome printer to make a label to cover up the previous owners name on my top sheet. And the top sheet was a custom for that previous owner. 2

dredman
https://instagram.com/amkatelier?igshid=1nf9sz63wqltg Anna does all of the logos, graphics and social media for MCC. She also designed top sheets for my last two boards. She may be able to do a top sheet for you for a price. I do love her work.
Popular Post hknz
Let me join the party. My daughter designs the graphic and I manage to put things together. Snowboard graphic is a bit tricky because one should consider the location of insert and binding which will cover some part of the graphic during riding, as well sidecut. Each graphic takes about a month of my spare time to do it. The rainbow/people is the 1st board. The rabbit/watermelon didn't build. The black & white is the latest one which has arrived last Friday. Take some time to post it on board porn. Edited March 28, 2021 by hknz
Ladia
Nothing special on it, it is fun. It somehow personalized you board. On the other hand it can also make your board difficult to sell. No everybody has the same taste. Angry was only board I did not sell and I did not even bother with fully custom built Virus. Maybe I was hoping I will ride it again, but not sure. Too “big” board for my current condition.

Neil Gendzwill
I’m not an artist, more of a thief as I took some art from people I like and combined them. However I like the result and Bruce makes it so cheap, why not have it custom? Everybody else charges a big premium for custom artwork, even if you provide it yourself. daveo
@hknz love those topsheets mate! i don't think they diminish resale value at all.
SunSurfer
@hknz Your wife will probably be quite happy for you to mount them as wall art given the artists identity.
JohnE
I would argue that Gregory's Donek Flux has the best base graphic EVER! Quite possibly the best snowboard graphic of any kind. The Silver Surfer. Sean at Donek uses a graphic artist to assist with these graphics. This is entirely white on black p-tex.

So that's white ptex and black ptex, laser-cut and assembled like a giant puzzle? And here I was all impressed with the inlay on my Kessler. JohnE
I don't think it is laser cut. I believe Sean uses a "drag knife". It is a sharp knife tip that is connected to a CNC X-Y plotter mechanism. I haven't seen it but that is how it was described to me. Pretty cool eh? It would be clever to order a board with custom topsheet graphics, and include a little statement near the bindings (since one tends to go through the bindings with a cable lock) to the effect of “Custom board and topsheet. Steal it, and you will be caught.” It may or may not work as a preventative defense, but if it is stolen it’ll still be easy to find by sending photos to pawnshops and searching ebay.
hknz
Good idea! I didn't carry a cable lock because my boards are always with me, including toilet time. And I don't eat lunch at all. 8 hours straight! If I am very hungry, I will find a restaurant in the middle of the mountain and put my board within my eyesight. I guess it would be difficult for a thief to steal an alpine board not wearing a pair of hard boots. I guess the only way to steal my board is to break into my hotel room .
