Grippy, poppy, stable, all the nice adjectives. No idea which variant it was. I only got a couple of runs before I handed it off to someone else. BTW: http://coiler.com has been updated. It is MINE!! Ha ha ha! I have a .4 and a .3 both are exceptional lively and energetic boards, the .4 is just more...like it goes to 11.
snowwjob1
Just ordered 4 boards from Sean at Donek today. The Hazelwood Sean built me was such a hit with friends 2 of them wanted one the same so I had to get one also a little diffrent. Then the thought of a new carving board would add to the fun. After a conversation with Sean I added a new Freecarve in the SECRET construction. Can't wait to see what this is all about.

drschwartz
Or, you could order 1 with 3 back-ups in case of damage and then sell them for half price to the rest of us with the note "only 2 days on board"??
snowwjob1
only 2 of the boards are for me. 2 are for friends that loved the last board I ordered so much they wanted their own.
workshop7
My red custom 172 from Donek appeared in last years "New Board Porn" because I took delivery at the end of last season. I'm putting it up on this one as well because I will ride it for the first time this coming season. It is the perfect addition to form this trio that I believe will be my favorite/go to rides this year. The one on the right is a stock dimension 180 Proteus. Jack M
What a maddening picture! ;-) Could that be.... an MK 172 in the middle there?
workshop7
Jack, That's the board I told you about in a PM last spring. It is built with an MK construction and performance in mind.

lowrider
Interesting fasteners do they overhang the edge of the skis when split ?
barryj
Hans Love your set up! I had the Virus FLP AFT and LOVED it.....but I found the carbon top sheet to be very very prone/susceptible to scratches and dings........obviously doesn't effect performance but that's a pricey board and Any scratch is just a a heartbreaker! Mine got scratched every time I took it out! Yes, mostly in the lift line! I would highly recommend a 3m protective top sheet to protect your beautiful investment. Here's what I use now on every new board- http://www.ebay.com/itm/3M-Scotchgard-PRO-Series-Paint-Protection-Film-Clear-Bra-12-x-72-Sheet-/142322569722?hash=item21231611fa:g:thUAAOSwstJZUv5Y This was a 12 x 72 inch roll if I remember correctly but here is the specific item #( 142272996442 ) .....and here's the link on how to use the 3m protective film-

Eric Brammer aka PSR
I'd love to ride that back-to-back with the 183 Tanker I used in the Carvemaster vid! Does it nose-roll at 25 mph? And still hang in carves going either way? And can it wiggle through Kidderbrook Ravine on a pow-day? Oh, and last test, can it keep pace with my Racing Students in a Race course? If YES to the above, we've a new Oil Slick to make upon torpedo launch! Whose working on that Torpedo, btw? "PSR"
pmorita
I'm trying to think of the picture my wife would send me if four new boards arrived at our door. I'm guessing it would not be the same as what you show. Your a lucky man Snowjob. 1
snowwjob1
I can not wait to try the 185 Hazelwood. The 190 i got a few years ago tears up the powder, kills the groomers, and loves long high speed turns. I hope the 185 slows things down a little and allows for quicker turns. As for having four boards arriving. It better not be an unannounced delivery or death will not be far behind you!!!!! I can't wait to try out the Free Cave with special construction. I dont know what it does and Sean wont let out the secret. Only 50 days till the first day of my season. Cant get here soon enough.
drschwartz
Having ridden the Secret last year, and discussed it with Sean, all I can say is that what it does is fabulous! Damp in the chop, turny but stable, nice edge hold but releases a turn and pops into the next one very nicely. Did I mention subtle hints of cherry and chocolate with a smooth lingering aftertaste? I have no idea how it does what it does, but what it does is great!?? Edited October 6, 2017 by drschwartz

Is it a Maverick with reshaped nose contour, or a more up to date design? Specs? Looks like it's still 21cm at the waist, are you going to ride it with hard boots?
