New New board porn 2012

That puppy looks better than new.....how many man-hrs to to restore it?

I like the custom nose-stripe....you've got me daydreaming of a black Coiler Monster, covered with old Rat-rod pinstriping.

Looking now at the board I have to agree, it looks better than new Swoards or other new boards, far more shine and depth, I've actually started to wax it regularly to add even more shine. And pin-stripes and racing stripes are coming back, I think it's the little details that count and not some wishy washy garbled crap graphics that you frequently see on freestyle boards.

All of this was the work of a friend who is a furniture maker and is expanding into restoring snowboards, from what I remember it took him about 20-30 hours total, however there was a lot of trail and error in getting the paint to match as well as correcting a lot of things in order for the board to be "perfect"... cause I'm a perfectionist :)

hope this link works I'm not too good at this.

Just got a beautiful new Donek. My new softy set up. Razor 172, 10.1, 26. Of course it came in the mail 2 days before I flew for out for a two week trip! Perfect timing!! In Dillon, CO now just waiting for Basin tomorrow...Looks like it will be a hardboot morning and softboot afternoon :)

Donek Proteus 170 :1luvu:

-default stance of 48cm with upm

-bamboo core

-longitudinal flex is stiff, stiffer than my metal fc 163 (closest is coiler schtubby 171 designed for 82kg guy and I weigh 68kg) so like Sean said, it looks like this board needs to be pressed REALLY hard.

-board finish is superb

-otherwise factory spec: 157cm edge 11m SR 19cm waist

You should call it the flying migraine.

Beautiful! Love those specs, and the topsheet is kickass.

Thanks! It was either square, python or Kobe Kaige....

You should call it the flying migraine.

What an apt name for it; either it will ride me or it will throw me....

this board looks fantastic; love the graphic, too. is that a semi transparent finish?

spec look great as well; a bit tighter scr for the length, with modern construction & good pop. sounds super fun. very interested in a review.

sweet! didn't know they were doing full carbon topsheets again. much nicer looking weave than what they used on my wcrm. looks like fun!

I guess. I was hoping it was something like that because the pictures on Prior's website of in stock stuff doesn't really show it well.

All of the snow here is man made but I can't wait! I have never ridden a metal board so it should be interesting.
