  1. Hey could I ever join you guys one weekend? Havent been to MC in ages and what better way than hardbootin it with others?
  2. Gentlemen, a family with 10 pairs of skis and a quiver of 8 boards will ruin your Friday nights. Electric sharpener and roto brush is the only way.
  3. Hand-tools are great for one or two boards that need minimal tuning over the season but anything more it’s mind numbing chore, we got the Swix electric edge tuner and never looked back. Base edges get touched once a season with a 0.5 degree bevel, with the Swix tool we polish weekly in a couple minutes. You only need the fine diamond disc, coarse and medium are too aggressive, the ultra fine not enough. Best money we ever spent. https://www.swixsport.com/us/tools/edge-tuning/ta3012-evo-pro-edge-tuner-110v/
  4. Has anyone compared the Almanac’s winter predictions with what actually transpired? How accurate are they? Speaking anecdotally from the Northeast I don’t think they’ve ever really tallied up; dry cold winters were wet and warm, snowy winters were dry and cold, etc.
  5. Hey Chouinard I forgot to ask 2 years ago but why do you suggest spreading out the mounting screws?
  6. If you want Ill be at Hunter mountain presidents day weekend and we can do some drills and to get your rotation and hips sorted.

Everything is in good shape and functional, no stripped insert screws. One of the plastic wings around the rear receiver snapped off in -30 temps but cosmetic only. Also Missing the two plastic center disc covers that go over the base plate. They serve no function other than covering the insert screws. includes an extra large toe/heel lift block (attached) plus extra canting wedges. Original box and literature and binding strap also included. $130 USD Venmo or PayPal (friend/family or you cover fees). Shipping UPS Ground depending on your zip $15-35. Shipping from NJ
  8. Some older backup equipment for sale. 1) Deeluxe Indy AF700 (2002 Salt Lake City edition) boots size 28 (309 mm shell) with F2 Intec heel kit, Raichle Thermoflex liners, and ACSS system. Stiff boot modded to have great flex with the ACSS system. Two sets of springs included, original 'light' set for extremecarving or lighter rider and a custom stiff set for regular carving my 220 lbs. Intec heels purchased new a couple years ago with front toe pieces. All heel screws replaced and heels have silicone added to them to prevent water ingress. Moon rivet replaced 2 years ago. Buckles + straps are good. Spare parts included, but do not have original RAB system. Shells are still OK, no cracks but show their years. Liners still have one good molding left to them. $125 + shipping Paypal (friends or you pay fees) or Venmo. Buyer pays shipping, can only ship via UPS. Can provide estimate if you give me zip code.
  9. A belt sander. Use a very very used belt, 150 or 180 grit. Best to mount the sander in a vice upside down and make light passes. Too easy to mess up. A shop with a belt grinder can do the same for you (not stone grind obivuously). Again, it's just not worth the trouble, just use a brass brush. So my recollection is this: since the late 90s all commercially available ptex has polymer stabilizers added that suppress oxidation. Better quality ptex is provided with even more antioxidants, with the addition of other compounds that provide UV protection, repel water or enhance wax retention. Also many base materials are manufactured with processes designed to reduce oxidation. But if I remember correctly, some bases are infused with paraffins and other hydrocarbons that are themselves subject to oxidation, but it is not the base material itself. That's not disqualifying that poor quality ptex is out there suffering from severe oxidation and mechanical degradation, but I doubt it's something that would be met on equipment that uses a ptex topsheet.
  10. Ptex does not oxidize. Wax however does oxidize. Stomp pad adhesion is dependent on how well you clean the surface, a good scrubbing with 50% isopropyl alcohol should do the trick. I used to wax my ptex topsheet until I realized I had severe psychological issues. Does not provide any benefit. If it gets funky or dirty you can use a brass brush to clean it out. Nothing else is needed.
  11. NH is an open carry state, why are you even asking silly questions about 300 dollar cameras
  12. I used to give my boards an obligatory pre or mid season grind cause I thought it mattered. Now Im older and more wise so I stopped doing that.
  13. Why going with Zipfit vs Palau? I currently use Intuition Powerwrap but is too high volume of a liner and want to switch
  14. It all looks wrong but this this is yhe toe and heel block position after centering my UPZ hoof boots. Using lifts and the ramp block make things even more absurd. But it feels right. These comments that this is overthinking it are honestly very unhelpful. If me and others are scratching their heads with 10 or more years in the game, then forget about beginners. How are they to even understand what feels ‘off’? The F2 binding manual completely overlooks this important issue.
  15. So a selling point of the UPZ is shorter sole length and ah hem lower binding angles. In trying to center the new to me RC12 shell (312mm) the center point is so far back I have to push the whole boot forward on the bindings. In effect any advantage of ‘shorter sole length’ is lost as I have to increase the angles to compensate this huge bias. Or am I doing something wrong? My measurements find the center point of UPZ boots is about .2 inches towards the heel from the molded ‘centerline’ in the boot or pretty much on the dot of the injection sink mark find right on the bottom of the shell. Having the boots ‘centered’, not only does it look wrong, but in using the large lift blocks on my Intec F2s I cant even center the boot properly as I ran out of space on mounting the intec heel piece.
  16. Ive been riding at Hunter this season and can confirm all what was said above. From what I heard Covid has made things worse in terms of lines, upkeep. staffing issues, and idiots on the slopes. The crowds even on weekdays can make your jaw drop. The North face of the mountain is so poorly designed I avoid it, the good carving runs including Hellgate and Racers Edge are dangerous to go down by 9:30am due to straightliners. The grooming is decent but you can run into surprises all the time. I still like riding here but I think Windham (now under the Ikon pass) may be a better choice next year.
  17. You are golden my man. Ill take the black! Paypal sent!
  18. Yes that's the one but I think yours is too short (that is a MP 26 size boot and therefore size M). Ill measure mine in the morning and confirm. Have a good night!
  19. Anyone have a spare 2nd band lying around? It's the old style 'zip tie' ratcheting system as circled in the picture, size L (from boots above MP 27). Not the buckle buckle, but the band as that's whats it called on YZcanuk's website https://www.yyzcanuck.com/shop/parts/boot-parts/deeluxe-instep-cable-band/
  20. PM sent on the Coiler Nirvana Free Carve Balance
  21. Konaride, what's the sidecut radius, is this the 10.5/12.7/12 m? Is this a titanal board? Still made with .4 metal? Can you give the me the entire part number on the sidewall, I'd like to decode everything.
