  1. I guess it was mostly the boots. Coming from skiing, the soft boots did not cut it. Especially if you are big. When the asymmetrical boards first came out, they just begged to be carved. Still enjoy carving and riding in hard boots.
  2. I use a vanity cabinet cardboard box, which is the perfect height. The bindings fit right inside the opening. I lay a piece of plastic shrink wrap over the top, opening so when I scrape the wax off it is contained on the plastic and not too much on the floor. I have a tool box of whiz bang tools for tuning, and watch tuning videos.
  3. Saw them on their site. 141 and 151? are made by Palau. the description says one stiff, other wide? 131 Deeluxe says heat moldable or not. Just wanted to see if anyone had any feedback on them. will consult with yyz.
  4. The liners in the Deeluxe boot have been more than satisfactory. I think they have three to choose from. Fit like a glove too. Not too pricey either.
  5. Need some help. Been saying I want to replace liners in my boots for couple of seasons. They always feel good early in the season, but then seem tired by the end. Have Deeluxe LeMans, which I like. Are all the Deeluxe liners heat mold Able? Which one is the best fit for that boot? Appreciate your help.
  6. I am going to sleep well tonight, great news. Looking forward to buying Bomber gear this fall.
  7. After dealing with all of us hardboot freaks, this guy who is selling the gear on eBay, is going to be relieved that Sean coming and give him all the remaining stock!
  8. It's like show and tell from grade school. People have never seen hard boots on a snowboard. I just let my friends or my daughters explain now.
  9. I like a good scotch for medicinal purposes after recreational carving!
  10. What is that big clip on your booster strap for? Boot heater?
  11. Looks like we've come full circle. That board looks like a fatter version of the Snurfer! The leash will snag on something too. Great conditions, thanks for sharing.
  12. Definitely a crap shoot when they try to forecast at this time of the year. Still trying to get back up before it's all washed away.
  13. Jack has been working on stockpiling remaining Bomber products and he can't wait to give us all the "Bro Deal"!
  14. Was it the Egan bros doing some type of carving instruction using a big outrigger support that looked similar to what they are doing in this video? You know back in the day, mid 90's?
  15. It's all subjective. Most skiers/ riders can make it down black and blue trails, only a few are actually skiing or riding.
  16. The second pic of the Raichle 121/ snowboarder has the Vibram sole running the length of the boot. I guess if you went through the trouble to remove the tread, then carve the plastic it could be done? I just bought later model boots that came with intecs instead.
  17. Raichle snowboarder is a great boot. 3 buckles, soft flex and good looking too. I'd still be riding mine if the heals were Intel compatible.
  18. With the stiff binding interface, TD3 step ins, a softer flexing boot is nice as long as the boot and it's components hold up? Would love to try the BTS or DGSS. I guess it really depends on your weight.
  19. I will trade you some of that powder for the 20" of heavy wet snow we just got. Two trees down on one of the cars, thankfully no damage. Get some face shots for me!
  20. My first "hardboot" was some kind of hybrid. It had a shiny black boot, almost like patent leather, and firm soft cuff. Way more support than Sorel or Burton boot. They might have been from Kemper? They totally failed. Was riding total Kemper package then with pink and blue safari inspired Agressor and one of my favorites the Bullet. I think the Kemper 170 Apex, was my first board that really carved, but was too soft for me.
  21. It takes couple of runs to get that muscle memory going. Now that you are starting to feel some good carves and getting looser and lower. But if you keep the hammer down for too many runs, then you start to get tighter, and then the good carves go away.
  22. My belly does not allow for front bail closure, especially after lunch! Thank you for the step in.
  23. Those boards look great and you can tell that the shaper has a passion for his art. I like to ride my Donek Axs with my rear binding relaxed with some minor boot overhang in powder conditions. Definitely gives more surfy feel. Have always rode with hard boots in powder. It helps to keep the boots in a flex/powder mode. I do like the step in when I wipeout in deep stuff and I can pull the release cable to get out of the "yoga" position in the trees. Sometimes it takes a while to get back in to the binding while trying not to sink down in the powder.
  24. Mazel Tov! If it makes you feel good, then it's alright.
