  1. I’m getting all misty-eyed! Apex GS 170 was the best graphic! Unfortunately was too soft for me, but it was either Kemper or Aggression,or an F2 that was my first asym? Love that new Coiler!
  2. Big and fat! Bomber TD 3 step in! The boot binding interface is tight and strong, and I use a flexible boot. I check the bindings before riding just to make sure nothing is loose.
  3. That was quite a long run! Was getting tired watching it. Like the part when the trees got tight! Thanks for the show!
  4. Always go back to your default setting! That’s how it starts, reading some stuff on the forum and you start to mess with settings, and it gets you all confused. Happens to me. Just wait for perfect carving conditions and go ride, then you will like your settings!
  5. those tree wells can swallow you whole! That is the worst when you fall downhill and the board is behind you. Snow is everywhere, neck googles, front and back. Now your sweating and your heart starts racing because you can't get to your toebail release or thankfully the T handle of the intec. You start to try to grab branches which shakes more snow off branches above. when you finally release your binding and collect yourself, you literally have to swim because you can't stand up in the deep stuff. I'm glad to hear that you made it.
  6. I thought that was Beckman's quote?
  7. Is it the flexing of the binding or the looseness of the bails that riders are switching to the F2/SG? I thought that the TD3s are rigid and built strong to prevent breakage and movement? Once less thing to worry about. Worth the money in my book.
  8. Ass looks fat in those red pants! Nice riding and video.
  9. Looks beautiful! Nice snow and spectacular view. Wish I was going.
  10. Looks like you are putting it together. Nobody on that trail too! Beautiful day.
  11. Riding/skiing are both becoming more expensive. From equipment, and lifts/pass, gas to get there and lodging it's up there. I would say it is a luxury that we love to do. I have heard that some resorts let you ski for free when you get to a certain age? Maybe retire and work part time at a resort that offers the lifestyle that you want. There are always some local deals like ski swaps and other perks that could keep you in some gear. Find a sugar mama to take care of the rest??
  12. beautiful craftsmanship. My wife would still be able to find my cash in there though!
  13. It looks like we've come full circle with touring style boots. My girlfriend had Koflachs riding back in the late 80's and I still have my Raichle snowboarder with Vibram soles for deep powder riding. Three buckles too. Probably not as lite as those Atomics?
  14. Was looking at Plattekill site for a benefit in February, and I noticed that Donek is having a demo day tomorrow? I think there are also races scheduled as well. If anyone is interested.
  15. what Frank and beans said. Bartender, waitstaff for tip money. Go early season for the apt. and lock that in first.

    Bomber NYC!

The price of the helmets were about 700$.
  17. You have to listen. Sometimes the ocean says don't come in. Sometimes the mountain says your day is over. Sometimes, more often than not, my body says wait till tomorrow.
  18. should we start to take notes? Will there be a quiz? Chouinard is on the same enlightened path as his Master! You go Grass Hopper!
  19. Really? And I'm sure they are all saints on the Mass pike!
  20. First suggestion is to change your mountain. I used to ski Hunter and it is great for steep, bumps and crowds. Try another area with some mellow cruisers and see if that board works better there. The board manufacturers will dial you in when you want to purchase a new ride.
  21. some years yes. All new boots usually are uncomfortable at first try on. When you start to use them, they get less uncomfortable. When they become comfortable, they are probably close to being packed out. If they are too tight, that's a problem. when you start putting your weight into them in a turn, they will start to soften up. Good luck
  22. If you were to go ride this stuff, new boots, board, bindings, you would have a better feeling of all the components. At this rate, the season will almost be over, and we are all waiting to see how it all works for you. Put a thin sock on and put the hammer down!
  23. Lived there back in the day 89-94. Never could handle it while riding, or surfing, zoned me out. My high has always been enjoying the moment with friends riding, or sailing hooting each other on. No judging here though. plenty of friends partake. Too many mushrooms in college perhaps?
  24. typically we all meet at 11am at the top of the mountain, take our boots off and warm up with a Bloody Mary. That is very relaxing. Feet always feel much better in the boot now compared to early am. Much more relaxed while carving after that!
  25. Thanks for the review. Still haven’t warmed up to that color scheme.
