Thanks to Bruce for the fantastic build and Nic for the graphics assist. 166 Contra SB with the all-terrain tip/tail. 138 cm effective edge, 27 cm waist, 10 m sidecut, 12 mm taper, looks like about 5 mm camber. Graphics inspired by the 2nd board I ever owned, although mine was the more common yellow-orange stripes. Beautiful board! What bindings are you running on it?

Interested in your thoughts once you ride it. So, I'm very pleased with it. I've had two good days on it now. First was with my old Burton C60 bindings, carbon highbacks, and today, with the new NX2 Carbons. I had to spend some time dialing in the fit with the new bindings, bit more to go still - had some difficulty getting my foot back in (highback up) without loosening. I'm sure it just needs some tweaking of the adjustments as well as me getting used to the insertion techniques. For the board itself, I was able to confidently rail it. It's stiff enough and tracks well. Still learning it compared to my true alpine boards, but it's confidence inspiring. I would advise to go with a longer size as others suggested to me as well. The effective edge is not as long as some of the comparables, so sizing up will help. That said, I'm happy with the 158 as this will end up being my all around freeride, all mountain deck and I don't need anything as long as my pure carving boards. Also, no need to pay full price. Seems they are readily available at a sizeable discount, particularly older model years, so shop around. I don't think they've changed anything but graphics/colors since they were originally released. As far as finish, I am thinking it's a bit on the more fragile side. Some light nicks already appearing on top sheet. But if you can find a deal like they were being sold at PRFO, a Canadian shop, where they were last sold at C$435 or ~US$325, you won't feel so bad if it gets scratched

CB Utah
Oh, I see how it is now. You get red flannel, I have to get red flannel. Now I have to buy blue flannel just to keep up. Sick board and great theme photo as usual. 1

kverho
Donek Knapton specced for icy conditions (170, 30.6, 10m, 12/10). Felt terrifying at first after my mellow Elevated Surfcraft Salmon, but I'm slowly conquering the board (kudos to @Xargo for helping me out with my technique). Inserts are offset 20 mm which is a game-changer and allows me to properly center the Step On bindings. weather_nerd
Two new Coiler Contras to join the one I already have! Decided to stick with similar graphics in different colors. Blue - already own this one. 173 cm long, 22 cm wide, 10.5 m average side cut. Excellent all-mountain board. Red - brand new! 162 cm long, 20.5 cm wide, 9 m side cut. This will be my short-turn and quick edge-to-edge board for the steeper, narrow trails at my home mountain. F2 Ti bindings. Green - also brand new. 169 cm long, 28.5 cm wide, 12 m side cut. This will be my longer radius EC style soft boot board. It will complement my Standa Cheater 170 wide, which is awesome but has a much shorter radius. Ride C10 bindings. This the exchange rate, these two boards together cost less than $1400 USD including shipping. Bruce is a miracle worker!
Popular Post bigwavedave
Thirst 9sw 195cm 18cm waist scr bigly Rode @Algunderfoot's skwal-ish (17cm waist) 9sw last spring and ordered one for myself straight away, but a little wider at 18cm. That and a black top with red sidewalls were my only requests. Mark did the rest and it looks amazing. Thinking I might try that duck stance I've been reading so much about.

I run Burton Step On bindings despite Burton's well-known lack of lateral adjustment and the beefy heelcup (which exacerbates the problem). The disc is simply too small and does not have enough adjustment range, which IMHO is a design flaw, plain and simple. The guys at Donek had not seen this much offset either and asked me if I'm sure, but for me it solved the problem.
bigwavedave
Well the duck stance was a bad idea ( @Algunderfoot the Thirst quiver sensei ) ...so I settled with the radical posi/posi stance of 65°/60°. With these angles I felt the need for a slight lateral (outward) cant on my rear foot. Thinking I might try the f2 race ti on there just for comparison. Rode this gentle giant for a couple of hours today on slush covered, sun-softened ice in 45° temps. I started out on a 175 Superconductor and 171 XC, both with my Gecko-ish plates before taking out this big boy...and boy oh boy...smoothest ride of the bunch. Super high speed, huge turns, requiring lots of room (a wide green run was perfect) and little traffic. So much fun!
Algunderfoot
Smooth, graceful and stable.... until you hit the brakes for the Snowriver lift line maze, like any board of such length, slow can be intimidating.

You need low angled directional light to really reveal the embossing we're seeing only in your last photo. Then if you can adjust the white balance in the camera to show the colour you're seeing. A pity it doesn't have a highlighter function for your trench! Edited March 1 by SunSurfer
