  1. I run Burton Step On bindings despite Burton's well-known lack of lateral adjustment and the beefy heelcup (which exacerbates the problem). The disc is simply too small and does not have enough adjustment range, which IMHO is a design flaw, plain and simple. The guys at Donek had not seen this much offset either and asked me if I'm sure, but for me it solved the problem.
  2. Having a "fixed" visor is practical, but the main reason I love visor helmets is the much wider field of vision compared to regular ski goggles. The visor has to really fit the contours of your face though and there are huge differences between the fit of different makers, so it pays to try them all if shopping for a visor helmet. I have the Head Radar MIPS helmet with photochromic and yellow lenses, and it's the greatest snow helmet I have ever had by far.
  3. Could you make this for me? The first board is my all-mountain slush slasher, and in soft conditions it cuts a pretty deep trench and the heelcup can indeed boot out.
  4. Solved by 20 mm insert offset (which required a new custom board but hey I'm not complaining). I also have a line on some custom alu discs that might alleviate the issue, stay tuned for that.
  5. Donek Knapton specced for icy conditions (170, 30.6, 10m, 12/10). Felt terrifying at first after my mellow Elevated Surfcraft Salmon, but I'm slowly conquering the board (kudos to @Xargo for helping me out with my technique). Inserts are offset 20 mm which is a game-changer and allows me to properly center the Step On bindings.
  6. So my Elevated Surfcraft Salmon with its 31.1 cm waist certainly should be wide enough for my Burton Step On X bindings & size 11 Ion boots, but the bulky heelcup and lack of lateral adjustment still cause some overhang at the heel and underhang at the toe. I've been trying to google aftermarket discs with more lateral adjustment to no avail, do they exist? Any other suggestions to the problem at hand? This is my first year with the board and not a huge issue; I've yet to experience conditions that cause boot-outs at the heel, but I'd still like to move the bindings closer to the toe.
  7. Nice board you got there Xargo!
