It was a fun group and great to see everybody tearing up the hill!

big mario
Yeah, that was an astoundingly fun one today! Seems that my subtle riding style doesn't like me going past 11 these days! Cahr Bahr was jammin today, may need to add a radient heater to the mix

JohnE
Gregory & I went up Wednesday and met Arne up there. We were on softboots, Arne on hardboots. Arne was smooooth as butta'. Riding on 2 fake hips and 2 fake knees. We joked that he should be a spokesperson for (and sponsored by) the prosthetic joint manufacturer: "Before I got my Acme hips and Acme knees, I couldn't even spell snowboard. Now look at me!" We discovered that there is no reason to get up there early. They don't open the lodge until 8AM so you just have to sit in your car. No fun. Drive up no problem. Weather was nice - light breeze and passing clouds. Crowds were light but more than years previous. Snow was good but they really need more. I think we got in about 15 runs from 9AM until shortly after 1PM. Firebowl, Turtle Creek, Duces Wild, Roulette and Keno. They opened Lift #4 and it got completely tracked out by 1PM. Drive home was a breeze. Planning on next Wednesday again. 2

Popular Post big mario
Another most excellent day today! I need a nap. I just realized that since The Dude left, I'm the grizzled old veteran of the group. How did that shit happen? There is a 4 decade spread between myself and the youngest rider in our posse today. Again, damn! We did a really nice job of laying waste to the practice field, turtle creek, and roulette. A few of us hit firecut for the first time this year. Narrow groom, undulating, and funky light left us feeling a little "Meh, not so much", so we were one and done there. Some of us finished with 1 on Richards, Whilst others were way more studly and did another. Apparently, someone turned out the lights on that ensuing run as the next front rolled in. I hope there is some snow in the next week, the quality has been really good, but coverage has been bad, I'm soooo glad I didn't get a base grind this year since I have been adding a bunch of extra structure to my bases this season. On the hill today, the Double D's, Derek and Dustin, NKOTB 17 year old Ethan, HillB, bringing it acrosst the hill, the sublimely cool Ice, Jordan, Miss Katie, Lance The Slopestar, and the old man , myself. Safe travels to Montucky Katie, ,Lance and Kevin, see the rest of you boneheads next week mario Edited January 24, 2021 by big mario

I have a place (from last year's covid cancel) in Vail March 28-April 4. It's now a use it or lose it scenario. I just can't say right now. The crystal ball isn't so crystal clear at the moment. If I can, I will!
