Getting excited for Niseko next week and Montucky next month.

The Burton Deep Daze 3D is for Nieseko (and hopefully some powder at Montucky) and the Donek Freecarve Special Construction is my first carving board since I quit riding in the 90's.

Both are virgins and I am real curious to see how a rocker board rides, as it is my first one.

Took the Little Red Corvette out for the 1st test spin today....aka Coiler Angrry 160 UPM F Plate

It was dust on crust in foggy conditions and I made some mediocre turns.....but  Wow is it lively!

The takeaways so far are:

1- It tracks super straight off the lift....with no input from me!   I'm just hanging on like being launched!!

2- It picks up crazy speed in a straight line ...more so than my Rev 163 or K168!

3- and in that micro second it takes to get to speed/mach 1 it starts pulling the nose off the track...like it's saying, Hey!  let's go over there!

4- and as soon as you whip it around to that direction you feel it pulling the other way!  No, we gotta go over here!

5-  the transitions don't need any coaxing from me and really feel like the board is wanting/telling me to start the turn and happen lighting quick....and  as far as inputs from me I'm just trying to keep up with this little Bandit!

6- but when your in those turns the board really  looses speed and for a micro second time seems to slow down and then.....Wham!  your headed the other direction!!

7- At the moment I'm just a passenger along for the ride!  It will take a few more days of better conditions to Release The Kracken  and Learn To Drive this go-kart!

8- and What's Really Scary is  I've barely taped this little beasts potential....... sure hope it's not a Jekyll and Hyde and it just decides to pitch me in the woods!

More updates to come!

is the board any different structurally?

Guts wise it's a pound for pound copy of Cory's 160 Angrry with  XXT scr treatment.   Bruce added torsional stiffness for my 230lbs. and to reduce the strain on the UPM inserts.

You gotta.

I will as soon as I can get it dialed in (with the plate!) and can drive it instead of just hanging on for the violent velocity change as my dental fillings are popping out from the g-forces!

If the ride with the plate is any indicator, to ride it without a plate  I'm gonna  need a G-suit to keep from passing out when changing direction!  :freak3:

Just received my SNX-20 from Jasey Jay.

162/20cm   9/10.5/10 radius   16mm taper

Construction similar to a ClearZ but a bit softer.

There are inserts for a plate but I doubt I'll put one on.  I've already enough of those 😄

When I visited him this summer, I saw the topsheets for the skis he's making and wanted the same treatment for my board.

@west carven290mm on this one.  A little narrower in the waist this time, I figure the added sidecut will require less angulation and be comparatively wider underfoot also.  164cm 12/13m sidecut, 1432mm edge.

Given JJA's racing and carving experience, I'm curious about this board. Any chance you could post a side shot showing its thickness profile tip to tail? If not, I understand it's a bit of a pain -- but if so, I'd love to see how far forward he reaches the thickest sections. Thanks for your consideration.

Moss PQ 160 EX

Hey Q,

Welcome to the Moss Powder Squadron!

I love my PQ60 and I still say if I had to sell all my other boards and could only own 1 board this would be it!

It is a Swiss (Japanese) army knife!  Loves the pow, wants to carve the groom...and all on the same run!!

It's a surfy, pumpy ride unlike anything else out there!   Enjoy! :1luvu:

Thanks- unfortunately, I won’t be able to ride it until next season. Broke my right fibula and recently had surgery. Royally sucks!! But hey… I can hang it on the wall until then 🙂

Welcome to the couch, dude.  Had my hip replaced in November, no season for me either.

163/28.3 waist/10m radius

Nose/tail properly rounded, thicc and sexy

Bruce wins again

Put three hours in this afternoon, nice and stiff but still forgiving when dragging knees off the snow

My heelsides are brutal, not used to different body positioning for such shallow angles…can’t wait for more practice!!
