Here is my New 2017 Moss Snowstick Performance Quad 60

It is an incredible ride and obviously does tha pow but I have found, as others have... Moss boards will carve and love to surf the groomers. Moss boards are truly a Renaissance shape for all mountains and all conditions and it seems every company has a just recently been inspired to create and include a "surf inspired shape" in their lineup....when Moss has been the originator and doing it in relative obscurity in Japan since 1971.

Can't wait to get ti out in the Pow that's coming tonight/tomorrow!

Here's the stats:

LENGTH: 1600
R.LENGTH: 791
EF.EDGE: 1210
SIDECUT: 10000/9000
NOSE/TAIL: 302/289
WAIST: 258
STANCE WIDTH: 520 (480-600)
SET BACK: -5.5

Check out the concave split tail........

Barry, is that tail section made so that it creates a slight void in relation to the rest of the base? Volkl's Selecta had a similar feature by making a 'cup' over a swallowtail that also turned up into a usable curved-up tail for fakie riding. If that's kinda what Moss is doing here, Awesome!

Hey Eric,

I can say, with this boards concave tails it doesn't feel like you lose any speed going in or coming out of turns, but it's no trouble to bleed off speed if wanted.

Moss says "the double concave tail creates a wet snow vacuum release; reducing drag which in turn creates more speed. The shape of the base and sidecut come together to make this one of the quickest accelerating boards in the lineup"

Hey BlueB

"Ground into the Plex" - Hmm....I guess that would be the easiest way to accomplish a concave tail.  Not quite sure but with my hand I can feel a distinct drop where the concave effect starts.

The tip and tail are the same thickness and the tail tips  has a slight rise to them and you can see in the photos that the wingtips have metal edges running all the way on the inside of the tips.

Not sure this is comparable to swallow tail/split tails, but compared to other swallow tails I've ridden this board wants to carve and it doesn't slip/slide out of turns in the groomers

H2O - That stance is 20.5 which is the exact center points as marked on the board and those angles are 55/50 .......will also try 50/45

Looking at the top sheet in the tail section, it doesn't look convex to match the concave on the base. Thus, it is not fully 3d moulded, but something had to be dugout/cutout, the core itself or the ptex...

Listening about the carvability and looking at the shape, it seems to be similar to 4807, which likes to carve too. Although the 48 has convex/boat nose, as opposed to the concave tail of your board. Interestingly, both 4807 and 3800 like to be mounted way back on the inserts, as their tails are stiff compared to noses. That makes them look even more similar, with bindings on.

Balance replacement arrived today.  :biggthump

UPS gouged the base. :angryfire Not sure what's going to become of that, sigh.
Probably more work for Bruce. :barf:

Let's focus on the positive...
182 Nirvana Balance, 24cm waist, Powder nose (it's a 178 with the powder nose so 182), 12-14 scr, with the All-Mountain's taper made for my tiny frame.

That's a shame it was damaged. I was there when it was picked up by courier and cardboard cover was perfect when it left the shop. ( Probably got damaged when their  delivery drone was downed by a North Korean missile. The Donald better get on this ! )

I see through the misdirection...  It was YOU @lowrider!

Jealous I bet of all that sweet width coming to the states.  Jealous of all that time Bruce was spending with me on my board.  Jealous of all that Titanal leaving Canada!

You villain!

Edit- I'm kidding with lowrider... this is not real. It was UPS they drug the board over something sharp, they suck.

lonbordin I too am in the same situation as you were. My Nirvana arrived last week and it had two holes in the packaging with visible damage. Once again UPS was involved.

Still waiting to hear from Bruce if it is repairable. I feel bad for Bruce that this has happened twice now this season.

Mine is definitely fixable. I think some p-tex and an Aggressive grind should do it. I was really surprised at how beaten up the box was and there wasn't more damage to the board. The heavy storage wax on the base and the paper on the top sheet saved it from much greater damage.

My UPS driver must've seen the multiple tears in the package and the damage as she always rings or knocks... This time I saw her quickly dropping the package and slinking away.

I just don't want this to be a hassle for Bruce or myself but you know UPS isn't going to go out of their way for either of us. (Source- I used to work for UPS many years ago)

My UPS driver was taking it out of the truck and showed me the damage and then said that he would return it to the warehouse and report the damage.

He said " I don't want you to accept a brand new snowboard that is damaged". Pretty good guy that I have known for years. No slinking on his part.

Bruce said from what I was able to tell him that my board should be fixable because the damage is on the top sheet. Hopefully not a core shot.

I'll know more next week I hope.
