workshop7
I just received this today. It is built with the design and performance philosophy of the MK but in a 172cm length. SCR is 11 and the waist is 19.

Actually, let me be more specific. This is not a new model from Donek, nor is it a prototype. I asked Sean if he would make me a board that was a 172cm length, 11m SCR, and a 19cm waist. And I designed the graphic. Outside those, the only other request, although a very important one, was to make a board that would give the performance characteristics of the MK. I wanted an MK that made a bigger turn, simple. Maybe not so simple (they did after all test the original MK with multiple prototypes over a couple of years to get the final production model right). This is not an MK, but, it is more that than it is a Madd 170. The MK was designed to pay tribute to, and even surpass, the performance of the original Madd 158 (I assume, I wasn't involved). It was a very specific goal, indeed. In having Donek build my board I also had a very specific goal. It was a larger MK not a Madd 170. Regardless, I'll give you all my opinion in a review next year. 1xsculler
Nice quiver. I like the concept and specs of the new Donek 172 MK too. You'll get a lot of satisfaction out of riding a board you had major input in.

Any chance that you might be able to compare it to a Proteus 170?

I don't have access to a 170 Proteus. I have a 180 Proteus but that is not going to help. If I can get one to use I will compare them and post my opinion.

Send it out to me and I will test it out at Whistler.

The tail of that board looks like you'll generate a lot of energy at the end of the carve, especially if you tail weight a lot. Airborne edge changes... looks like a lot of fun. I have Bruce building me something somewhat similar now- at 171x22 10/12/11.
www.oldsnowboards.com
Just pulled the trigger on one of Mig's Fullbag Longboards. Hammerhead 181cm in route from the great white north!! https://fullbag.com/collections/snowsurfs/products/hammerhead-181 376US$ SHIPPED!! Probably end up paying some customs / duty or drayage but still sounds like a great value.
Ernie00
I have a Fullbag Diamond Blunt and the more I ride it the more impressed I am with the board. I used it with hard and soft boots. Very impressing how well it can carve and the surfy fells it has. Amazing board for the price. You'll love it.

Probably end up paying some customs / duty or drayage but still sounds like a great value. If all goes normal Bryan, you shouldn't have to pay any import duty at customs because of the free trade agreement (NAFTA). Boards made in Canada and shipped to the US are duty free. And vice-versa, boards made in the US and shipped to Canada also are. We ship all boards with the proper paperwork for customs. The Hammerhead is now sold out in 181cm, but we still have a couple in 171cm left, as well as a few Lifer 166cm. They both go for the same great deal. Lifer is even a few bucks cheaper.

Freezer
Just got the EC 168x22 12/13 to compliment the Gen 1 Stubby 173x20 13.2. As always, Bruce's boards have astonishing edge hold.

Seems like the 171 could be a good upgrade for an O Sin 3800 - it's what I ride when I expect to ride both groomers (maybe soft groomers) and off-piste fresh in the same day. Is that a good mission profile for the Hammerhead?

Hi Dan, here is a review that is almost as detailed as your's!! http://www.snowboardingforum.com/snowboard-reviews/223041-2016-fullbag-hammer-head-181-a.html#/topics/223041?page=1 It was 376 US$ SHIPPED!!! PS Jim bought the other one. More details on "BBBB" FB page. "Bryan's Big Boy Boards" I just received another longboard that is interesting, built in Silverton by Venture. It is a 180cm named "Bomber" 2007 NOS , I have to wonder if their is / was a connection.
