can't believe you went there on an alpine setup ! I was there last year on a stiff softboot setup and it was hard to generate speed to get a few good carves in. I'm sure most people there have no clue about carving setup.

Until the last day of the season. That was in May close to 70F (21C) of course the hardboots boards are waxed and stored at that time. Still some fun turns to be made.

I saw that as well earlier this week and was thinking the same, it looks like the first apline plates. I would think this will fade away pretty fast. They don't show the hardware. Imagine the added weight as it's pretty big vs an 19 cm waist race board and it did add quite a bit of weight. The lost of the ability to pedal "twist" the board. Seems like Terje isn't the hot commodity he used to be in the snowboard world. He is still a hell of a rider.

I did get my board a few weeks ago. Looks like they are trying to bring the ship back to normal operations. Looks good so far but I was told they had problems with their core supplier and had to start making cores themselves. If true it will definitaly change how their board ride.. for the best or worst I don't know I haven't tested mine yet.

I'm in St-Adèle, Sommet Gabriel. Not great carving but it's home mountain so it's where I spend most of my time because the kids are training there. You learn all the fun lines to carve. Sommet Avila, the run called Express. It's always been the carving run for people around here, fun and a little sleep at the start then the thing opens up to be super wide. I like to go there weekday mornings. Same with St-Sauveur, weekday mornings is fun for carving. Mont-Blanc has a lot of hardbooter riding there was well. I don't go there too often. Tremblant on a good day is always fun, wider groomers to carve as well. Most places are pretty small around here. You gotta learn to carve what is available at the time you are at the mountain.

New decks made it here yesterday from Vaughan snowboards . Made here on the East coach in Canada. One full camber carving machine The Vault 163 x 26.5, I already have the W camber version of this board at home and it's a BEAST for carving, best board I ever owned. New board from Vaughan Snowboard is almost ready, I got an update today. Missing the logos, clear, binding holes and tune but it shouldn't too long before it makes it here.

I wouldn't debate keeping it juar hang on to it as a backup. Prior's future isn't clear at this point in time. Been bought by another group not too long ago but still radio silence from them. . Hard to get in touch with them, they owe me a board for more than a year and know a few peoples that are in the same boat.

I think things changed a lot with the passing of Chris Prior. It's like anything when I order a Coiler I order a board from Bruce, Donek it's Sean and Vaughan it's Dave and so on. If someone buys Coiler, the name will stay but it won't be Bruce and his passion. Looks like they want to turn things around and get back on the track. I'm rooting for them as we don't have too many alpine board builders. I don't think they are spending much RD in Alpine but they are still available. I am also hoping to get my board, been waiting for a long time. Someone I know dropped by the shop and they were working last week. The issue right now seems to be topsheets.

Some of you might have been in the same situation as me. I've been trying to get a hold of Prior for a board I was supposed to have build since last year and it was delayed and delayed. I finally got news today and they are under new ownership and have been going through restructuring this summer. I don't know much yet and they will be making an official annoucement soon about it. They got hit pretty hard at the end of last season with supply chain issues. I'm glad to see them moving forward. Ernie

Little digging around and it doesn't smell good right now. Long story short, I ordered my board in May 2021, board came in November but was build with the wrong Camber. Agreement was to give me the new board in Feb as I was in Whistler. Board was not ready and since then because of shortage in epoxy hardener and it was taking longer than expected to get it. Board was cut and waiting to be pressed. Late March they had a problem with the top sheet and had to order a new one from the artist. Since April it's radio silence. I have talked to a few people that are in a similar situation...

I'm in the Queue for next year as well. It's not hardboots but it carves amazing. I started talking to Dave last year and he build me a board for this past season. I've been on Coiler for 15+ years. I felt like I needed something different and needed a new best friend as Bruce is slowly building less and less boards. David Vaughan is a retired SBX and Alpine member from Team Canada. After a few phone calls and many e-mail we found what could work best for me. Starting over with someone else isn't easy. Bruce knew exactly the flex I liked and everything so it made ordering a board super easy. So I wasn't expecting the first board to be exactly dialed in to my specific taste and was fine with the process. So he build me this monster a 163.5 the model is called the Vault 27 waist, custom flex and maple sidewalls. You can buy it off the rack or he can customize it. https://vaughansnowboards.com/ He builds the boards in New Brunswick Canada but lives in the witner in Lake Tahoe area, he has stocks on both sides. He told me the board would take a few days to get used to it. Took me a few days to get used to it but this board is amazing. Certified badass carver on the icecoast. So I ordered another one for next year. Shorter 159, 27.5 wide, different core and a little more manuverable than the Vault in thight spots. Can't wait.

Hey, Hope everyone is doing well and getting their legs ready for next winter, starting tomorrow days will be getting shorter! I've been trying to get a hold of Prior snowboards for a while but can't get anyone. Anyone here knows if something is going on at Prior or know anyone working there? I know they usually close during summer time but we are still away from that date. Their last social media posts dates mid April. Thanks Ernie

You have to find the boot that works for your feet. Driver X are amazing but they don't fit my feet at all. I went with the Ride Insano and they have been really good to me. As for bindings we have more and more choices. I found that the Ride El Hefe works good for me. After 15 years exclusively on hardboots, I've been slowly riding less and less alpine every year and more and more softboots. Of course nothing carves like my .4 metal Coiler but dang these news boards / binding / boots are coming really close.

TD2 have been sold also. Make me an offer on the board if interested.

Update on this one. Gecko's have been sold to Miroslav. Board is still available. Took out the Gecko and it's super clean underneath.

Kessler 159, 19.5 waist + Apex gecko (silver limited edition) For sale is a very good condition Kessler 159 4x2. A few little things here and there but nothing major. The board belonged to Caroline Calvé a retired Canadian Olympic team rider. It was a back up board, so when I bought it from here it hadn't been ridden much or raced. The board was tuned and structured by her tech and it's still looks good. I rode this board about a dozen of time with about 2h every time in the morning in the last 2 years. Never been raced be me either. Tons on edge left on the board. I weight 170 and it's plenty of board for my weight. She was 5'10 and 165 (wiki pedia) and the board felt perfect size and flex. The combo Kessler and Apex worked flawlessly for me. Very simple and effective. I nicknamed the board the little ninja assassin. At 165 I need to be very aggressive with the board all the time, it's not hard to ride but you have to be on your toes and ready. So i'm guessin it could work for someone heavier. I'm offering the board as a kit right now A) Board + Gecko for 900$ USD plus shipping. Just the gecko are worth 500$ US and the Kessler 1200 US for a rack board. They are in A1 shape also. Limited rare silver edition. Last Kessler SL that sold here 162 was sold 750$. I will be in NJ next week (Saturday) so I can ship the board to and from the US so the shipping costs are lower and faster. Otherwise I'll ship from Canada. We all know the drill Paypal friend so I don't loose any money or for our Canadian friends we can go interact. If you want the TD2 it's possible to sell them also we'll talk then. I've used TD2 on softboot Prior without any problems in the past.

I'm sure if you talk to JJ he will explain his rational and you'll get more information that you can probably process. He is usually very available if you e-mail him or even over the phone.

J'ai dit ça aussi. Mais tu vas avoir avec la qualité des bottes molles et fix maintenant ton 2-3 jours la première année va se transformer en 4-6 l'autre et 10+ après. L'avantage c'est que tu peux rider plus quand les conditions sont pas parfaite pour carver et quand même avoir beaucoup de plaisir à carver. Ya rien qui bat un matin groomé parfait seul sur la montagne avec ma coiler. Malheureusement c'est pas la réalité. Ca fait profiter du bois, de la poudreuse et tout ce qui est entre ça.
