I've never been in Colorado. Have flown over it a few times, looked out the window and day dreamed.

This winter season; it will mark 15 years since I first strapped my feet to a plank, and hurled myself repetedly to the ground while attempting to decend a mountain. It is my 5th season working at Jiminypeak, and I planned to take a few off work from my chef job to do ECES. One day this summer floating around on jetskis with friends, I was discussing wanting to possibly hit SES this year as sort of a commerative anniversery thing, and also to celibrate graduating from New England Cullinary Institute with my BA in Restaurant /Hospitality Management degree. I have not been on a vacation in nearly 4 years. After a long time riding the east coast, I was suprised with an early Christmas gift from a special woman who loves me a lot.

A full SES package, and accomodations in Aspen for the week :biggthump.

I'm looking forward to being out on the hill , ripping around with the armpit vent sucking up powder like a cheese shredder on groom steeps, and putting faces to a bunch of screennames that I have called "online aquaintances" for the past few years and also looking like a noob fool re-learning how to ride a snowboard... in an entirely different environment (powder). I would love to have a personal opinion on the EASTCOAST/WESTCOAST rivalry also seeing if there really is any difference to there being an advantage to the snow in the Rockies versus the boilerplate hard pack of the east for carving.

I don't drink much anymore, but from what I've read, I am going to have to start "getting my beer muscles and liver in shape"... so it looks like some 12 ounce curls are going into the pre-season exercise routine as well so I can keep up with you boys (and girls) apre-ski time !

or else.....

Advice for eastcoast boilerplate riders taking turns in Colorado: don't fold the nose.

I can't make it for the first time since I first started going to the SES, what like 6 years ago. Bummer! Work said no. Have fun!

Well, let's face it, you KNOW Gretchen and I are coming. Work is just going to have to get used to the fact that I'm taking time off in the winter. Think of it as semi-retirement. I'm jones'n so bad hearing other people are already riding.

WHOO HOO! SES again!

Bomber babes will be sporting the hula skirts again this year, RIGHT?

I should be out in Aspen for a day, maybe 2.

We'll see how things go with work.

Not sure what days I'll have off yet.

I am going to try and see if I can convince the guys over at Sharpshooter Imaging to let me go to Aspen for the week and shoot the event.

I'll keep you guys posted.

Totally Sucks Ken....what's the SES without seeing you come down the slopes?? We'll miss you! Hopefully work will get mixed up with dates and you'll be able to join after all :)

Ann and I are planning to return, but without Brad. He is in his first year of University and can't get away. However, we are bringing his older sister, Alaina, kicking and screaming. You see, she is a soft-booter who only rides her plates maybe twice a year.

Ann will be bringing down her new Coiler she won at the final banquet last year. We just heard from Bruce and he is building it right now, even though he's not feeling all that great. Thanks Bruce!!!

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again and hope you'll join us in convincing our daughter to come over to the dark side and carve the entire week...

I'm in the same boat. I've done 5 in a row, but can't do this year because of baby duty (and unfortunately now back earning Aussie dollars rather than British Pounds).

So Ken, if the real reason is that you are scared of the Ribs Challenge, you are free to go cos I won't be there to humble you! :barf:

All is set Michelle, check's in the mail. I'm solo and in for the duration, and the mayhem.

Ken...Sorry you won't be there this year too, that sucks, hopefully that can change by then. Sounds like Kite boarding is the next thing on the bucket list, you and Bordy definately get after it.

Dan, The sooner you get this baby thing over with the sooner you will be three and riding. Best Wishes Mate!

Look forward to catching up with the rest of you!!
