  1. Most vendors boards get a belt grind and in some cases see a stone most ship at 90. I think Bruce brings them to a tune shop, Kessler, no idea, Donek not sure but both of mine had decent tunes. Winterstick does a really nice tune 1 and 2 I think, really nice stone grind, even take the time to de tune for you…
  2. ???? Yeah, I thought that was a given… thought it was yet another sidecut or something.
  3. Yeah, for me the Now Odrives do that. If they were just a smidge stiffer in the base plate…… in some conditions it doesn’t bother me but I’ve realized it causes fatigue I thought it was my coiler was wearing me out and then I switched bindings and put the Nows on my tanker…. Now my tanker wears me out…..
  4. Agreed, I have been on all the other that people rave about and the ride is my favorite by a long shot.
  5. Alright, who in the US has one??? I’ll let you try my 275 coiler bxfr
  6. So, many years ago I smacked my head, after that injury I had trouble “getting it back” balance, shakey legs and generally getting my lower body to do what I wanted it to. I had chalked it up to age, inner ear stuff and fear. Doctor concurred. I had some constant sciatica type stuff that I’ve had for well over a decade now but suddenly over the last two years has worsened. Turns out, I had crushed a couple vertebrae that went relatively unnoticed vs the migraine and some upper body bruising when I smacked my head… I’d basically just tried to ignore that my feet would often do a pins and needles thing and a variety of other fun things. Figured it was circulation stuff and being less in shape than I once was or whatever. well, now, many years later I get imaging and here I am. Had I of 1, sought out better care other than a visit the next day not mentioning all the stuff I was feeling and 2, later when a doctor asked about how I recovered actually told them of my issues I would of been able to access treatment then and would have less of a mess now. likely, had I of said my legs felt weird they’d of taken X-rays then. In my defense, I really did think it was that I got my bell rung. With the nature of the falls we take snowboarding, skiing and skating pretty horrific back injuries that go undiagnosed are fairly common after talking with a surgeon because we figure we are just sore and focus on the broken arm or concussion. anyway, don’t be a dumbass like me you guys. I’ve never been able to ride the same since, just ask for an X-ray if your back is tender after a fall.
  7. I’ve had a bunch of SL sticks, 162-168 are the sweet spot for me at 275 lb
  8. For real, who the frig looks for cord at Jackson? Love the shit out of that place, might be my favorite
  9. Yup, this is common and it seems they never solved the issue. The old sb series did the same stuff.... not the end of the world but annoying
  10. Awhile back there was a thread with softboot cants from Japan, can’t find the thread and google is not revealing what I’m looking for on Japanese websites... can anyone help?
  11. I have no idea what the shape of the Kessler 162 is other than perfect! Mine is ancient, beat to hell and has thin edges and I’m gonna ride it until it breaks. This contra though.... it’s got some of the same sauce..... just very different at the same time. Both want me a little more centered than my other boards. This is the thing though the contra took a few runs to like and to feel comfortable on where as the Kessler it was literally the second turn. The contra is easier to ride all round just.... different and weird at first
  12. Okay, so I just put a couple mornings on one of these. It’s really good! I have some reduced mobility these days but the damn thing allows for it and gives me a massive amount grip and I can really adjust the turn size without laying into the nose all that much. Was slightly twitchy at first but once I got used to it really really easy to ride. basically has what I like about my Kessler SL but in a way less tiring package
  13. Title says it all, shop insisted that the 275 would work for my foot, it just won’t work. Too narrow had to jump up a size. These are unused. Paid $475 yours for 100 less than that, free shipping CONUS ill entertain trades such as wide snowboards like a tanker wide or the extra wide SG or BX boards or if you have some really nice bindings like Ride El Hefes
  14. Okay, so, I’m running zips in softboots, best setup I’ve ever had.
  15. What angles were you running? Any other relevant information?
  16. Yup, that’s the rumor! I have no experience with those. I do have Driver Xs, the stiff K2s, and Insanos though. The insano has more rigid tongue than the K2. The boots while different all give about the same performance. the insano and drivers are pretty close in flex and the K2 are a notch below. while the burton lacing is a little annoying I wouldn’t write it off as it’s never failed..... I have dealt with boa failures soooo there’s that. same liner in bothe ride and K2, the burton liner is close but not the same. I replace the liners in softboots usually.
  17. most of them are custom so you tell them the stance you want and they place it where they think it should be (I think!) also, I have been told by a few builders that inserts add a lot of labor and interfere with bonding and all sorts of stuff. so, there’s a few reasons! Tomahawk usually only had one or two packs. i have a Kessler with no 4x4, just hangl So, just buy this thing before I do!
