  1. I try to demo every board possible and I have come to the conclusion that I demand two things in a board ABS sidewalls or Ptex like never summer uses and wood cores other types of cores either do not hold up like the old rossi decks or in the case of honey comb they tend to chater and feel like you are riding a peice of paper in the case of the Palmer board you are I did like the Sims honey comb boards a little better as I understand it they only used HC in the nose and tail somewhat basicly the same idea as burton is using now and that they use aluminum instead of paper which I am willing to bet is way stronger

I generally turn it off or way down when riding I am a safety fanatic because I have seen some really bad injuries at ski resorts over the years so I just think every little bit that helps you avoid that hot dogger in a dayglo one peice is important as for what I like The Pixies, NOFX, Alman Brothers band, Doc Martin, Santana or just about anything else except Phish <--- the most annoying music on the planet god bless my ipod
  3. I would guess on snow it would be in the high sixties when I was about 12 me and a couple friends would laydown on our skate decks and go down a hill in our town its amazing none of us got hurt one day a guy that was behind in a car said that the slowest of us was going a little over 40 of course we had no helmets or anything like that on this same hill a kid busted his hip when he tried to make the corner at the bottom of the hill onto another road missed it and hit the curb flew about 20 ft hitting the side of a building

My aunt is theripest she often does rehab for the problems that they either worsen or create. shes says that most real doctors really do not know enough to properly diagnose many patients with back or neck problems never mind a chiropractor who has way less training than a doctor there are good chiropractors but you would be better off seeing a good doctor the bottom line is see a few different doctors and go from there
  5. they are open ahead of schedule will be there by the end of the week! I expect to see some of you guys out there, just look for the burner 197!
  6. but they still do not even come close to my mighty burtons how do the stratos pro compare to the af 700/Indy
  7. A couple years ago it was really windy at where I ride so only one lift was open and it was the beginner area so being a employee I get free lessons so I got me free rental and set it up goofy and took a lesson and tried to play it off like I could not ride damn I could ride somewhat but things like skating and getting off the lift goofy that sucked so on our second run (on the lift!) I went to my regular stance and put in some mini treches the the guy teaching was like WHAT THE HELL and shortly after I told him what the deal was I do have to say that was funnest days I had riding that season but very humbleing
  8. I would say go with donek I have ridden some of the hot decks but none made in the seven or so years so my knowledge is not that current on them it was nice though F2 boards are okay I had a little speedster RS 168? I think it was it was a good board but not amazing check out coiler.com too very good stuff
  9. it comes down to canting the canting on the catek is better there is no need to buy new cants with them the only thing that bugs me on the cateks is the way the heel bail is on them mine have a TINY bit of play after a 70+ days but thats a very minor complaint on the other hand the TD2 I suspect will be a bit more damp the only downside is that if you decide you want to use a different cant than you bought in the first place it will cost more I hope to get a pair of TD2s when I am not so poor for me its hard to imagine a better binding than the TD1 so I am sure I will love them
  10. this time for me on long boards I like to have my canting perfect so I would put the cateks on the big stick but if you find the canting perfect on the bombers it will come down to which binding is more damp I suspect it will be the TD2 so maybe go with that but try them all a final note, they are all really sweet bindings so you can not really go wrong
  11. hit the wrong button and started a new thread feel like a moron now

    where are you

east coast hell ya Maine, where men are men and sheep are afraid
  14. OK since the big B stopped making boots what would you say is the stiffest boot going I love my pair of Fires but the will not last forever. so what do you all think is stiffer the new UPS boots or the Head stratos pros how do they compare with the Fires? I have ridden the older UPS boots and they were pretty soft compared with the Furnaces I was riding in at the time. are the deeluxe Indy any stiffer than the AF 700 or is it exactly the same?
  15. I can't say that I have been on that specific board but I have really liked nitro decks even the cheaper boards of theirs ride quite nice over all they are pretty high quality

    newbie setup

Burton gets a bad rap I really think that they make a decent board I would take a Burton over a Oxygen, Rossi or a F2 anyday but they dont come close to the ride of a Donek or Coiler

ebay can be tough sometimes when all of us carvers see a board that we like for example a Sims Burner even for a well used one it can go way up in price even hardboots get real pricey I just sold a pair for $212 USED that is way too much in my opinion at your weight and you say you want to go fast I really recomend goin with a longer board 175+
