  4. if any of you have any daughters or sisters of the ages of 18 to 25 that can carve I will trade Madd 170 for her thats a mighty fine dowry better than the average three goats and a cow are arranged marriages legal in this country if not I will just get her real drunk in vegas seller pays shipping and all sales are final Aisling you single?
  5. the late 90s would make a decent beater or lender to teach your friend with easy boards to ride the pointy nose sounds like accelorator as does the red and grey those boards are akin to the old Burton Alp Freecarve is not my thing I like em a bit more racey
  6. that its profitable to sell season passes dirt cheap that way you sell four times as many other resorts ususally smaller ones have known this for years ASC just figured it out last season when the SR/Atitash pass was less than the SR only pass from the year before these people that were out on the hill some had not skied in ten years due to the cost of a day pass and the idea of spending 600 to 900 for a season pass thats crazy if you have a wife/husband and kids that need passes too its funny this winter at sunday river I saw more straight skis than I had in the previous two years and you know what if this trend continues and the skiers who had been out of the sport due to the price return the resorts are going start to listen and we will start to see cheaper lodging and food at and around the resorts for a few years ASC(and most other companies the own the big resorts) treated the ski industry like a elite club like yachting or somthing and the price turned many people off that would otherwise spend every day off they got out skiing honestly what else is there to do in the rural north east in feb
  7. taping some foam on to the area in pain seems to work better than tightening the whole area by way of buckling down more while molding possibly the homemade toe box was too small as well you could try anothr layer of sock on there if you have one to spare

    Snowflex

at steamboat they use it at the lifts and on a sunny day its hell slow spots in the middle of the ramp ,dirt gets in it and so on
  9. what I want and what is out there and though I have not seen the numbers for the smaller companies that do not have the ability to get their stuff into every shop in the country I would assume that it has helped incredibly with the mom and pop operations I think Alpine will grow as the snowboaders that started during the big growth of the sport in the mid and late 90s mature and get sick of jibbing
  10. I like steep be it groomed or bumped and really like steep when there is some fluff on it
  11. no really stop in if your in town love to have a carver on the couch
  12. I may live there in the coming winter I have been there but only once and there was no groomed stuff that I saw it was dumping and it had gotten deep everywhere in general how is the grooming when it doesnt snow? I do have to say it was quite a nice place to ride the pow infact dare I say it I could be happy being a powder hog there
  13. He died last summer he was the best dog ever though he was scared of everything like mice and frogs pretty funny to watch a dog that weighs 140 lbs and when stands on his hind legs looks eye to eye with me(I am 6 ft) run away yelping from a frog he was a good dog:D
  14. its funny I have had PSIA types tell me that they were carving when at best they were twisting the term a good bit the skiers idea of a carve is closer to edging without skidding but not really getting angulated racers do at times and some skiers that have skis that can be skied like that AND have the skill and the ambition do actually get low
  15. indeed it is so much easier to rip carves on a board and skiers that ride on the side have said the same to me
  16. powder even a narrow race deck floats better than your average pair of skis
  17. I dont mean the 'stang GT either I mean the GT 0 to 60 in 3.3
  18. this is the deal with going uphill we can carve complete circles in the snow I have seen one skier do it after alot of work on it damn good skier too he was inspired by watching me and a another guy carved a circle around the group of kids he was doing a race camp with he said its real weird to do on skis because once your goin uphill at the top of the turn it gets real weird he said the only way to get it to work for him was to presure the front of the ski realy hard and put ALL the presure on the outside ski
  19. in the wrong conditions and the nose like most race decks has little shovel some added length really helps in the nasty conditions and somewhat compensates for the lack of shovel so thats one reason to go bigger and that short sidecut will get ya the chatters at speed unless its a ------>Madd<------ but still at speed a larger board with a wide sidecut radius would be prefered

because its very personal it depends on stance width angles snow board YOUR NEEDS/preference generaly I ride with more lean in the back boot in softer snow I relax both boots a good bit and loosen the springs I ride with less lean at the end of the day in choppy snow and when I am getting tired early in the morning I ride with lots of lean when I really want to carve aggresively toe/heel lift is a big factor wide stance I like to crank the rear boot softer freecarve boards relaxed to some degree icey snow I need to get up on the nose pow I free flex my boots or use softies with the front FLAD relaxed
  21. 172 rode one this winter does it all very well mid wide 26.7 waist I think dont quote me on that though its not a door like most wide boards I do prefer a donek sasquatch though the baron is somewhat turny and you can really rip turns on it stiffer than most freeride decks but softer than a donek sas or wide I do have to say its more versitile than a sas though maybe do to a more even and softer flex you can find them for about 250 to $300 right now nitro makes some great decks too check em out one thing I really recomend is a stiff boot paired with a stiff binding catek freeride is my choice with burton driver boots I like these because of the removable plastic tongue wich makes the flex of the boot adjustable comes in handy when you wanna be a park rat for a day or when it gets reeeeeeeealy deep solomon boots I think have poor design but top notch materials the damn lace locks slip and the fit just does not work for me but try em on and see how it goes mine packed out a good bit as well too its been a few years since those boots I had maybe they have their **** together now though
  22. acording to the website I have never had trouble getting in contact with him except in the late fall when he is building like mad usually responds to email within 5 or so days
