    cant discs

let you down but I do have to say that you should support a company on this continent Coiler or Donek comes to mind
  2. Bruce at Coiler will set you up just get your order in soon a all moutain or freecarve would be more versitile than a Burton prime/speed and way more quality oriented talk to Bruce about widening one of those its like a extra $50 US for a custom template I think he has some templates not on the site just gotta ask I want to ride a Prior badly only heard great things about them!

    Footbeds

I have hard time to ride without footbeds they are a must its crazy though you wont realize how much you like them untill you have had them and then ride without them for whatever reason find a tech that is cool and you can get the footbeds at the cost for materials if you are ever in steamboat springs Derek at the one of the shops at the resort (the one that is to your right if you are at jitters and lookig towards the gondola building) did mine for $45 and they have been the best and cheapest of the three pair I have had done he is a cool guy too ask him if you can ride his Burton split tail FP
  4. unless your talking about the english that like to come over in the spring and texans of course the thing is that stupidity is a huge part of this game I have seen people try to get a chair lift to go back down with thier skis on and not even think to ask me or jump off the lift when they are 10 or 15 ft high because they dropped their pole funny as hell to watch these morons humans are the most inteligent creatures on this planet but do stupid that even the dumbest animal would not in particular the 30 to 50 year old man with the I have been skiing for 25 years atitude they dont use common sense and will not listen to the people who use it for them Ive been working at ski areas long enough that I can spot these people just at the first glance I think 70% of the lift related injuries are due to skier/riders do not use their heads and preventable on piste 50% are careless as well and 80% of the collisions are as well this is just based on my observation
  5. a guy I was working with was looking at mine and tweaked a his fingers pretty good
  6. there is no sense in getting these BUT if you have older Burton boots that do not take intec heels and you want stepins its a good choice they are soft and do wear out so if they look like they have had allot of use stay away I consider them a decent freeride/freecarve plate best used at lower angles in the 50s or so if you have a real skinny deck like 19 cm or even 19.5(and a size 28 boot) they flex too much IMHO for me at least this is based on myself I am about 260 and 6 ft tall so it could be less of a issue for you my old lady prefers Burton plates over Bombers and Cateks I have tried to sway her over to the Bombers a couple times as I hate to see a pair of great bindings sit around and gather dust but to no avail
  7. his super teched out camber keeper setup he went all out with some strategicly placed dowels possibly search for it he went in depth about it sometime ago could have been in the old forum though
  8. after some tweaks to the canting they make for a binding that lets you find a neutral position and allow for real edge control
  9. Okay a friend recently got hight speed access from his cable company anyway there are a few machines in that house so he asked me how to hook up more than one so I tell hime to get a route or whatever its called he doesnt want to drill holes in th walls or floor and since his laptop has a wireless card he wants wireless for the whole house just for the sake of ease so we get all the gear the laptop (mac)works fine the emac works fine both with minimal config his friends linux laptop with wireless works with a little config now enter the desktop running XP upstairs put in the wireless card install the drivers and after going through on of those wizards it works later on he reboots the machine wireless doesnt work anymore can see network connects then disconnect reinstall the drivers still doesnt and we do everything you can think of to try to make it work so to test the card I pop it in my old Dell running linux after some setup time it works just fine EVEN after I reboot so all esle has failed I call tech support for the card maker wait on hold for a moment so we go through a bunch of stuff with her she says it should work and that the card is pretty standard based and should just work but its the network settings that must be wacked and that with XP in some cases when changes in preferences are made they dont stick she gave me a reason but I forgot what it was anyway with a bunch more hand holding from her we got it to work and stay working is this common or did I just have really bad luck? after this eXPerience I can tell you I have even less respect for a company that makes 95% of the installed OSes in the home market but yet is still not all that easy to use at times not that linux is but its free and if there is a aspect I do not like about it if I can write code I can change it and I certainly wont be buying anything with windows installed on it in the near future no need to pay for a OS I will not use

    UFOs

this is strange that they admit that this happened AND they dont know what it is my guess is they do know what it is probably a test of some sort years back here in the US everyone was seeing UFOs that turned out to be tests of some kind of new engine may of been a ramjet or somthing don't remember and at the time neither did our armed forces just a guess though
  11. maudite and troi pistoles(I have no idea how those are actually spelled) are some of the finest brew around where is this store!
  12. I am subscribed now hopefully they can get them to the european market it seems that between more people in the sport there and that they are more willing to pay a insane price for gear I think that its a more profitable market for Madd but thats not fact its just a asumption based on what little I know about that market
  13. robertedea@earthlink.net thats strange I bought a 170 as well and they have not sent me a thing thanks guys for the help
  14. any update to info on these beasts 1) will I need longer screws? 2) wasn't there supposed to be a email that they were gonna send out? 3) graphics? 4) will I start slinging crack to get the cash to go to Argentina to ride this thing? hope I am not annoying anyone by posting yet another thread about these boards I just feel a little in the dark here
  15. what drives me nuts is that minor tweaks to these boots could be made that would make the boot amazing for one the heel and toe pads that have sucked since the mid 90s the idea some of the of the weak points of the older boots made it into the newer boots just is insane to me as far as putting in the five position FLAD <---- at least thats what Burton would call it the race tongues were a better answer for me because I could always loosen the springs up if things get choppy though Burton did a better job of incorperating springs into their boot and they had done this way way back too hell they even had a four position lean system WITH springs not really a big deal untill I wanted to not have to dig in my pocket then fiddle with my boots when riding with my friend and have them get all fussy about having to wait for me
  16. and they just feel so damn good too in particular on soft snow when you can really load up your board I was out riding with a friend that skis and he said that seeing someone laid out before their edge makes contact with the snow is enough to even get the old hardcores to take a look at snowboarding
  17. it might depend on your tires on a tire that is puffed out to the sides you could possibly get pretty low that picture has gotta be a fake though I do remember being able to scape my pedal that was up(might be imagining it though these childhood memories sometimes get inflated) and ripping turns on my bikes maybe this is where I got the crave to carve damn that was like 1990 when I was ten it seems like yesterday
  18. any decent company would toss you a new one I have been through this a bunch with my own gear and from working in a shop as long as you dont have impact damage from something hard like a rock like the above post said burton was the best when it came to that as of late they have been a little bit more stingy though even if it was out of warranty its worth a shot I mean a free board why not to me the truth is a board should not break if you land on it and most makers feel the same way
  19. as long as your bails are not too tight with older cateks and raichle/deeluxe there are some minor issues but its more of it being a cheap boot shell if I remember correctly the really old UPS stuff doesnt fit bombers
  20. I like a stiff boot(Burton Fire was my favorite) but the springs in deeluxe boots jam and sometimes dont move at all what happens is the"tube" part rubs the spring and tend to pick up dirt and stuff causing more friction WD 40 helps but is not a cure all the shell is too damn soft as well anyone with the old WC Cateks knows what I mean
  21. maybe a little heel lift but first see if you can deal with it flat if you access to someone who can ride plates well go out with them but beware or those who ride plates every so often and think they got it down I know a girl that swears that a soft setup will carve better than a race setup given what her race gear was (a old ass asym that was like 147 or something with some of the old burton megaflex boots) I see why she may have thought this and of course she was level II so you can not fight with the knowledge of PSIA bow down all hail the snowboard goddess hmm I sound a little bitter anyway you will love the axis once you get the hang of it its a great board to start out on and its a great board down the road when you learn to rip on it as well
  22. If you get a decent four stroke dirt with a little extra work (putting on the proper lights and such) it could be perfectly street legal wich kills the need for a truck or trailer as long as you have a friend that will come fetch your bike in the event that you get in a crash that makes your bike unridable many people will tell you how much dual sports suck but they are super fun here are the key factors (in my biased opinion) 1.four stroke engines are heavy and do not have the snappy fast respone like a two stroke 2.Go with a dedicated dirtbike and put a light kit on it stuff like the Sherpas are not really ideal in a pit if I had the money I would probably go for a Yamaha WR 426
