  1. wind pack, pow or what ever if it aint shiny chances are its gonna be less hairy for example I will not want drop 15 ft onto something that looks like a zamboni just went over it I suck on steep ice in particular on alpine gear on anything softer I am fine I did get a little huffy earlier but it does bother me when the "I am more extreme" comments come up usually the come from people who play in the back country twice a season no harm intended really
  2. as for CO well most of it is flat (front range anyhow) I hope you are not one of those guys that thinks W P or Keystone is "extreme" tell you what put 30 inches of dry snow on just about anything and I will ride it on the other hand lay solid carves on 50 deg ice at speed I find more challenging
  3. and it gets below 30 the next day guess what it will be rock hard just as nasty as here in the east I have lived in the west and it does get nasty there like four or five days a season here its like that every morning after march 15th or so
  4. those who have had pleasure of riding one know what I mean here it is some of the boards that people that raced for burton got were totally hot my case in point is a 180 I rode a few years ago I think that if allot care is given during production, quality materials and some rider input any company can make a very good board I guess what I am saying is maybe that any company that is willing to do customs for consumers should get your patronage think about it customs must be a pain in the ass for a manufacturer I have both a Coiler and a Donek love em both. which is better ? depends on what you want to do and what type of ride you like
  5. a couple companies make sandpaper specificly for base prep its hard to find but it does exist lust do not even think of trying with out a true bar you could make things worse this I assume would be quite time consuming too
  6. with my big feet I lose comfort below 19.5 and just cant ride anything below 19
  7. mainly waist width and sidecut radius when are we gonna see a Madd website
  8. Killington and Sunday River SR closes may 1

    Catek & TD1

it comes down to canting and what you feel the need for I have had both and once both are dialed they ride prety darn close
  11. that just means they sell off the loaf and the river and the buyers put some cash into those two great resorts
  12. ski boots suck! they are hell on a toeside turn in the wrong conditions which are exact conditions you need all the help you can get if you live at butter milk maybe a ski boot will do but otherwise save your self some time and get some SB specific boots
  13. if you ride with alot of lean all the time you will stop feeling the burn and will get stronger in the legs given it takes away a good bit of your ability to suck up some of the rutted up stuff just do not go over board on your front boot
  14. got knocked out was buckling a boot while riding hit one of those orange poles that you use for baricade mesh my little lady ate a rail the week before I guess she is a jib monkey
  15. the whole state is full of them and I am not a fan of those types and the whole psudo treehugger mentality when in reality all they care about is where the good couch surfing is and where the next bong rip is gonna come from but the those patchuli girls will give it up very easily if ya dont mind the hair!
  16. get Bruce to build you a board since you have some short decks get a big honkin beast for those days with killer snow that will allow you to really push your self I have a pure race custom190that is simply the best board I have ever owned it was gonna be the board that I would take out when it was time to get crazy but its such a great board its actually what I ride every day now the bottom line is if you have the money get a new stick its great to have some choice boots the earths are pretty gushy boots try something racier really helps for the heelside turns I would say UPS would be a good choice but the Deeluxe stuff rocks too as does Head as for the asym they are dated to say the least but if its fun that what counts what season were you at the 'boat?
  17. yep mozilla is the way to go best browser around
  18. PR rides its got loads of snap but damp as well a very powerful mix gonna give it a rip in about 12 hour sure to put a smile on my face
  19. "hardboards" are outdated and that there is just no need for a snowboard over 175 and I was basicly stupid to have a 190 and then started to drone on about how the new SL skis are only in the 160s
  20. but at low speeds when I find a soft setup that turns like a burner 197 at comparable speeds I will give this idea more merit but now that its on my mind are there any freeride boards with a big sidecut like say 13+ meters? if so how do they ride
  21. ask ski racer in tahoe remember that thread ?
  22. and how much did it cost for that construction as it seem alot more work goes into those I miss my burners sooo much now that I have caught the Coiler bug (got a PR custom 190 and just put in a order for a little brother for it too) my 190 scared the hell out of me the first time hit ice on it, the hold was insane to the point of freaking me out! bottom line is Bruce make the sickest rides around!
  23. % man: why did you get a divorce? man:: Too many arguments its okay I have couple linux boxes to get back on topic use the wrog wax a sticky board WILL slow you down
  24. never was a fan and I had a couple and on top of just not liking the feel one split open due to being a cheesy cap construction burton stuff okay not great the speed 178 and 185 are both pretty wide 20 and 19.5 to be exact both are solid rides
