  1. great deck for easy going and freecarve in general
  2. I have had this happen on soft boards and in soft conditions the answer is usually the same be careful not to load up that nose too much it sounds like you got on it too much as the snow was cold/firm
  3. in my experience once you get comfy on a long board you make it turn pretty small but its hard to get the shorty to turn big the key is with a big board to go a bit faster to make the same turn
  4. that looks like the first or second year of those 97/98 or 98/99 great pow stick, a bit narrow for my taste though hope you have small feet
  5. my only issue with cateks is that the toe block on the SI will wear out faster than on bombers bombers are on a bolt where the cateks are just bent to fit under it my only complaint about bombers is that I would love a 1.5 deg cant and there is no such thing either way you can not go wrong

  8. the stiffest SB hardboot you can find if you can find a pair (they dont make em anymore) stiffer than my af 700s WITH the race tongues
  9. the FPs and Speeds were great decks in some respects at your size go vfor a 173 or 178 in fact I just bought a 178 which will be my second one though I think it will only be a far cry from my Coiler 190
  10. on any wed/thurs through the end of the season any interest let me know on a side note anyone with a race deck in the 160s that wants to dump it for cheap email me my little lady needs a stick or two
  11. I might be able to ride for a hour or so but thats all the time I will be able to get on sat
  12. literally in white cap lodge here at Sunday River usually I ride alpine in the mornig then if it gets choppy I will take out the softies
  13. I have one and its a great jib sick but at speed and on ice it does not hold up as well as my canyon 173 if the ride were a tad stiffer it would be better I wish it came in a bigger size say in the mid to high 170s becuase its a weapon in the pow and has a ton of snap I am pretty hard on my boards and it has held up pretty well so far \the bottom line is its a great board but there is room for improvement
  14. hey if you come up on a weds or thursday I will be more than happy to show you around I live on mountain and work here too for a new carver north peak and jordan would be my recomedations
  15. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3649033279 great condition!
  16. the idea of a civil case over getting hit by a someone while skiing or what ever is so disgusting has it ever occured to some people that snow sports are high risk sports I have been working at a ski areas for seven or so years I see people get hurt all the time I really do have to say most collisions are avoidable but that does not mean you should be able to get that persons pay check I can see maybe if someone intended to hit you but thats pretty rare Americans are way too sew happy my intent is not to anger anybody but I really think this stuff gets out of hand
  17. for me it allows two things a better feel on the toe side turns and it allows me to control the stiffness of the boot without having to switch tongues the way I adjust em is I put that nifty little boot shaped wrench in the holes in the nut and pull it a half turn its kind of combersome but works
  18. that they shrink a tiny bit with every refitting I have noticed the they seem to harden just a tad too
  19. open a image in your veiwer of choice then save as and it should give you the parameters that you need for example 100 by 100 and 100 k or less in mac OS its super easy and linux too so in Windows it should be pretty straight forward too
  20. I would recomend one three and one flat I use flat and six I do know a few guys that insist that flat and flat is the best way to go maybe try two flats and buy a three allso or buy some Cateks to find out exactly whre you need to be I change my cants for different boards for exaple on my big board which I have a wide stance on I use three and six if I ride a small board with a narrow stance I go to flat front and three in the back
  21. good tequila anejo or a really good mezcal on more mellow nights Belhaven scotch ale in the can (with the nitrogen cartridge) or newcastle brown ale I love dark rum with some fruit juice too and if I really want to get crazy absinthe
  22. and what type of riding do you want to do? what resort in ME will you be riding at if you get to sunday river I can most likely find something for you to ride so you could try before you buy.
  23. depends on your cants but still will not be as tall as your softboot bindings
  24. I try to demo every board possible and I have come to the conclusion that I demand two things in a board ABS sidewalls or Ptex like never summer uses and wood cores other types of cores either do not hold up like the old rossi decks or in the case of honey comb they tend to chater and feel like you are riding a peice of paper in the case of the Palmer board you are I did like the Sims honey comb boards a little better as I understand it they only used HC in the nose and tail somewhat basicly the same idea as burton is using now and that they use aluminum instead of paper which I am willing to bet is way stronger

I generally turn it off or way down when riding I am a safety fanatic because I have seen some really bad injuries at ski resorts over the years so I just think every little bit that helps you avoid that hot dogger in a dayglo one peice is important as for what I like The Pixies, NOFX, Alman Brothers band, Doc Martin, Santana or just about anything else except Phish <--- the most annoying music on the planet god bless my ipod
