  1. Bryan, I swear, you can smell when these things come up for sale! It's like bacon...
  2. Tempting. I've got a couple pairs already and really like them, but may hold out a little longer to see if a large pair appears.
  3. No worries, thanks for offering to measure them! I like the burly toe strap mods. The stock extenders are elegant, but a bit fragile seeming...
  4. Do you know the size of the toe ramps? I think large is 3.25" from front to back. Also, do you know if the disks are 4x4 hole pattern or the combo 4x4 / 3D? Thanks!
  5. You are not qualified to judge The Pizza. It is pepperoni that is best. Only pepperoni pizza is The Pizza. Without pepperoni, it is just flattened bread with smeary orangeness and white stuff.
  6. I'm bowing out of this one, so if someone else wants large toe ramps, have at 'em! Yes, the toe ramps are about the only compatible machined part between the FRs and FR2s.
  7. I find that d*ckheads don't typically restrict their d*ickheadedness to a single issue, they like to let it roam free. You're probably onto something...
  8. Excellent! The "Santa Claus Conquers The Martians" style outfit is the cherry on top.
  9. I'm with you, man. There's an easier way to get face shots...and it's 20 feet to your left!
  10. An excellent visual! Hope you're feeling OK. How was the ridge? I was conflicted about making that trip on Friday but bailed, thinking it might be mostly a sheer wall of ice. I've regretted that decision before...
  11. What I really want to ride in powder is a Pogo Wingergun 205. What my wife really wants is for me to not be a total idiot. These are the tensions that shape the arc of life...
  12. Sure, if you think it will increase your enjoyment, why not? Post pictures!
  13. Nice...but where the hell did everybody go?!?
  14. Today featured a reported 7" of fluff on glazed porcelain. It got mashed down pretty good and the groom may set up nicely for the weekend. Bennett's, Fire Bowl and Firecut were nice, but were picking off tourists like sniper fire. The terrain off of 8 was fluffy. Though getting back to the base area from there was harrowing. The Sunburst Chutes were like riding over a jumble of Easter Island statues after an earthquake. For the sake of simplicity, Loveland should just rename them all "Ballbuster" or "Taking You Down A Peg." Have fun terrorizing the locals!
  15. If you're feeling guilty about this, I'd be happy to help satisfy the Grocer's powderlust. Of all of my snowboarding regrets, not buying one of those with that topsheet is right at the top of the list. Shalom!
  16. Just had the Donek Hazelwood 200 out in 7" today. Mounted up with Catek FR2s. It's full camber and all float, plus it plows through chop like an icebreaker when things get tracked out.
  17. Happened across these in the Craigslist Denver site. They look pretty mint, with a claimed "3 days on them." http://denver.craigslist.org/spo/4926466019.html
  18. I like Spain and all, but this video made me infinitely less jealous of you than your heli-skiing videos.
  19. If no one comes up with a PLS Shock, I have a Flex with (I believe) all the necessary hardware. Cheap.
  20. The story of my life; being an outcast of even a niche community. I don't know that a softboot forum would generate a lot of unique traffic or, for that matter, wisdom. One of the things I love about this forum is that it's loaded with people who've rejected more knowledge about carving than I'll ever possess. I feel like I learn a ton from following discussions on disciplines I'll probably never try, but may be able to apply in some way to my own riding. If it weren't for this forum, I'd still be flailing around on an Arbor or Lib rather than flailing around on a Donek or Rad Air. That's progress! I'd keep things as they are and let us softbooters dig through the topics to determine relevance. Unless, of course, the tradeoff is an R&D commitment to build a softbinding so I don't have to scrounge up Catek parts or stack my already tall and heavy Ride El Hefes on top of Power Plates!
  21. Whoa, Nelly! That thing is swaaaaaaaaaate! A beauty. I might just put a giant Wusthof sticker on it and be done with it..
  22. Don't discount the effect your ski clothes might have on the emotional health of animals. If you're rocking the late 80s, Jean Nerva style puffy coat and neon pants, the critters may flee the same way they do when the see my vintage, multi-paneled Quimbola Man bibs. Maybe a new Oxess isn't the answer?
  23. Fantastic! Representing Steamboat, Donek and Bomber? Go get 'em!
  24. Elton John wonders what you're talking about, "too high...?"
  25. Gotta second this. For years my backcountry setup was an Aggression 175 with no frills Sims spongy, mid-back bindings and Burton Comp boots that were considered stiff at the time, but way squishier than even an entry level, modern freestyle boot. I'd still take that setup into the powder today, but I'd rather go with a modern Donek 200 and stiff bindings and boots. With powder the margin for error is so much greater that it seems the boot/binding combo is much less important than the board. All of my powder riding has been in CO, so way west conditions may drive different decisions.
