  1. Please let me know either way. Say hi to the woodland creatures for me while you're in there!
  2. I assume this is pulled directly from Rossignol's marketing material...
  3. I'm well behind Bryan on the highbacks, BUT if you happen to have a set of large FR/FR2 toe ramps in that magical storage closet...
  4. Retail sucks. But when the alternative is nothing, it takes on a certain attractiveness. Thanks for the tip, will call tomorrow!
  5. What happened to his eyes!? It's like the Joker took Adam West's irises. Or he was replaced by Simple J. Malarkey. Either way, I won't be sleeping tonight...
  6. Anyone have a pair of these? I think they're the same from either FRs and FR2s. Measure 3.25" from stem to stern. PM me if you do.
  7. I know I'm not the only one looking for these things, but would like to find a set of the Catek polycarbonate spacers. Prefer 23 cm, but beggars can't be choosers. A guy with a drill press, a jigsaw and some Lexan could make a little business out of this. I actually found myself on the Catek site, considering ordering a pair just to see what would happen. Is there a 12-step program for this?
  8. I sent you a PM enquiring about the FR2s.
  9. I might do some seriously depraved things to get my hands on the Lib Tech "Shalom" board. All time classic topsheet right there.
  10. Don, many thanks for the offer! I'll surely take you up on it, but it may not be immediately. I'll give you a call. Thanks again!
  11. Looks like a pretty sweet ride and evidently comes with a pile of tuning stuff. Plus "two years of soaked in wax" at no extra cost. No word on whether that includes two years of scraping, though.... http://denver.craigslist.org/spo/4815347896.html
  12. Bryan, you know me too well. I would be right behind you. And you're always one step ahead!
  13. I thought about this route for remounting an old Crazy Banana, but the $90 bit for 8 holes squelched my enthusiasm. If anyone knows of a shop in the Denver area that has this setup, please post. Or if you have the bit and would be willing to rent it, even better! Two shops in Golden I talked to wouldn't touch this job with a ten foot Release&Waiver form.
  14. I'm confused; semen AND eggs from the same bird? I'm happy to get a pair, I just don't want to overspend if I don't have to. Thanks, this is vital information!
  15. Better yet, maybe an "I give this The Finger" button?
  16. The Skunk Ape has gone into early retirement, supplanted by longer, stiffer, cambery decks with bigger sidecuts and no bumps on them!
  17. Iciest day of my life last year at a little hill here called Ski Granby. Spring day, hadn't yet warmed up from the night before. Riding the lift and secretly gloating about my Lib Tech Skunk Ape MTX serration and how it would carve up the ice like a Christmas turkey. It cut like a hot knife through granite. I've ridden some pretty gnarly stuff in my life, but I've never been so afraid for my calcified bits as I was on this near horizontal green run. There was zero cutting through this stuff. It was a bit of an extreme case, but I wouldn't be counting on Magnetraction to be the solution. Full disclosure, this was in softies. But I don't think my non-MTX boards would have been any worse. Someone had a 176 Kessler The Ride for sale a while back. I'd LOVE to try that sucker out on the ice for comparison's sake.
  18. And I might be one of those people. If you come to the point of letting them go, let me know. I'd love to see pictures!
  19. No specifics on boot size or asking price. Could be a nice rig? http://denver.craigslist.org/spo/4808301079.html
  20. If you're still looking, I have a Lib Tech that might fit the bill, but could come in a little pricey. What's "cheap" for you?
  21. Hmmmm...tried to upload some pictures but the app complained they were too big? Basically I pulled off what I believe we're the Nidecker straps. They're burly but seemed a bit unforgiving. The toe strap may be used as a cap, but it doesn't inspire confidence in that configuration. The Ride toe straps are grippy and low profile, but not the ruggedest things I've come across. The ankle straps are plush but responsive. I had to fashion some plastic washers to fit the toe straps flush to the Catek extenders. I also trimmed the hard plastic combo washer that sits outside the Ride highback/ankle strap screws so the edges would not extend outside the heel loop. Probably could have run without these, but I had a spare set and they fit like a charm. The nice thing about the Ride highbacks vs the Catek plastic jobbies is that they sit flush in the heel loop. The lower edge of the Catek highbacks push your heels forward about an inch. Pretty bad design. Plus the Ride's are way stiffer. Again, if I had the Nidecker Carbon highbacks, I would've kept them. All In, I'd buy another set of FR2s and make the same mods with another pair of El Hefes currently in service. Though the El Hefes are nothing to sneeze at and come stock (now) with carbon highbacks. Also I was able to find stainless replacement hardware for the Cateks at the local hardware store or through a supply house, except for some admittedly critical parts. I pray those don't fail! If I can solve the size issue with the pictures, I'll load some more.
  22. Thanks loads for resurrecting the forum! Funny how much I was starting to miss people I don't even know.
  23. I bought a pair of FR2s from the only other respondent on this thread (thanks Bryan!). Only half a day on them but they feel nice. I took the bindings down to the chassis and built them back up with Ride straps and highbacks from a pair of El Hefe's. The fit is near perfect, even the fiddly little screws. I had to do some plastic part mods with the Dremel, but could have made it work without. I'll try to post some pictures. I have to say, I'm really pleased with the outcome. Those stock grey plastic highbacks look like something off an old Black Snow! Now, if I'd had the model with the carbon highbacks, that might have been a different story...
  24. It's ready for you. Witnessed a full-on, grenade-in-the-pants style yard sale on Firecut from the chair this Friday. The guy may still be sidestepping up the hill to retrieve his gear. One for the ages...
