  1. I bought a pair of TD3 standards from Okemo Mtn Sports (see classifieds). I ride stepins, but it's good to have the parts, and now I can try .951s. If anyone is eyeballing that XR178 on ebay, PM me for a tip.
  2. Love mine (purchased on fire sale from Bomber). Love it so much I'm having a 175 made, with KST 2 meters longer. Normally outside my board budget, but... #yolo, #midlifecrisis Oh... you are winning fatherhood with that treehouse!
  3. You could try it and if you want more torsional flex out of it you could have it slotted. Fin used to do this for people, @GeoffV had his done.

Looks like the images in the OP did not survive the migration, feel free to re-post.
  5. If I'm reading their site right then it looks like the cant/lift mechanism is similar to Bomber's - you get one sloped disc and you can rotate it separately. The mid-plate attaches to the lower assembly with one big honkin' bolt, which is reminiscent of Catek, but I think the similarity ends there. As far as I can tell they only offer a 7-degree disc.
  6. Yes. With the FP's, Burton settled on a formula of 15cm nose length and 5cm tail length, so a FP 167 would have 147cm effective. MK 161 is probably 151cm effective or more.
  7. I believe you meant Donek MK 161. It would be a much, much better board than an old FP 157. More grip, more edge hold, more energy, smoother ride, less chatter.
  8. I was hoping Donek was going to buy the inventory, including parts, of which there is a considerable amount. Donek was at USASA nationals last week and couldn't deal with this until this week. Fin had asked the bank to give Sean some time but I guess they are hot to trot. Oh well, cat is out of the bag now.
  9. Red Prior? I think I saw that guy this past weekend at Sugarloaf. Anybody know who he is? Looked like the TD1s and Langes were not his friends.
  10. Medical, recreational, religious, rutsafarian. If my wife and I weren’t addicted to skiing and snowboarding one of us could quit our job.
  11. If heel lift was an issue in your Deeluxes, you should consider UPZ. I use Intuition Power Wrap, they're the middle-of-the-road model. I believe .951's are also famous for heel hold.
  12. @GeoffV, you're running the silver tongues, right? This looks like a more fine tune-able setup. Luckily for me the gray tongues and stock spring system is a good fit.
  13. Thanks dude. I’m going to have to get a Soloshot for more footy.
  14. Good technique? Eyes are looking into the carve, that's critical, especially on heelside. I love to see that. Back knee is a little tucked but ok. What's the answer professor?
  15. Conditions were epic, the day was an 11. But it's over now. Rain, warm temps... we're on to Spring!
  16. Original 158 left, 2007 reissue right. (original was more like 155)
  17. @Cuban Carving Gooding I'm seeing some @Shred Gruumer influence in that technique!
  18. IMHO, in softboots, higher than 15 degrees on the back foot and you start losing toeside power.
  19. I think before I can agree or disagree, I need to set up my softboots the same as my hardboots - with custom footbeds and molded Intuition liners. I just haven't spent enough time in softboots to feel motivated to do all that, but I think I'm there now.
  20. What are those black discs under the bindings?
  21. I wish. Actually Fin has one last possible lead for a buyer of the inventory. He'll let us know how it goes.
  22. Click your username in the upper right, then Account Settings.
  23. A number of times over the years, I will demo a board at the ECES at Stratton and fall in love with it. I'll order one for myself, get it to my home resort (Sugarloaf) and just think "huh... I don't love this". This happened to me with my Angrry-derived Coiler 163, and the MK. It even happened to me with an original Madd 158. I borrowed Shaggy's at Stratton and it was a dream. I then bought Fin's original 158 and just didn't love it at Sugarloaf. I just like a bit longer radius I guess. Two runs on the MK and I've done a thousand turns and I'm cooked. I loved my Proteus 163 (10.5m) and my current "short" board is a Kessler 168 (8-12m they say) which I'm loving. I think the forthcoming MK 170-something will be a great board. I rode workshop7's custom MK-derived 172 and it seemed like a great preview.
