  1. Saw this and thought it deserved to be here. These riders carve with impressive style.
  2. Oct 19, 2021 Quick update, There's a major change on Rama's schedule, and he can't make it this December. With that sudden change, we have to delay the camp until further notice.
  3. Though my experiment with hardbooting is over (for now, who knows what tomorrow might bring) I still need a stiff setup. My Burtons are "OK" but not really up to the task. Every time I lean into the tongue they pretty much let me fall forward and don't support toe side turns. I managed to find some NOS Nidecker/Flow Talons and stuffed a pair of Intuition wrap liners in them. The result is really really stiff, like hardboot stiff but with a much shorter BSL. I hope this will allow me to ride at the angles I find comfortable while giving enough support. Just out of curiosity, for softbooters, what setup have you been using?
  4. I am looking to sell my Salomon Malamute softboots, size 9 US mens. They are in excellent condition, almost no signs of wear. They are from the 2016/2017 season, purchased new at REI and used maybe 12 times or so since. They are just a bit too small for me, I typically wear size 10. These boots are perhaps the stiffest softboots on the market. They also use plastic inserts to increase stiffness, all of which are accounted for and included. The liners are advertised as heat moldable, I had REI mold them once when I purchased. Salomon's current model is almost the same as what I'm selling here, with liners being the biggest difference (no more synching cord on the newer liners) and a different tread pattern on the sole. Also, the orange plastic "powerframe" is light blue on the current model. The current model retails for 399.95 USD. I'm asking 200.00 USD for these, buyer pays shipping. Please reply if interested.
  5. Hi, I"m wondering if anyone has tried any of Nidecker Carve series like their asymmetric Tracer board?
  6. SOLD. 166cm, 27.5cm waist, 10.5m avg VSR. Excellent condition, built in fall of 2018. BX-ish carvey freeride board. Premium construction with Titanal inlay, carbon fiber net, p-tex topsheet can be waxed and ground. Decambered nose and tail, mellow camber. 4x2 ten-packs. Used only by me in combination with my alpine boards, so not a lot of use. Never used with hardboots. 1 grind, edge bevels at 1-base, 3-side. No damage, no issues. Some liftline scuffs. Awesome board, just selling to fund my next custom Winterstick! $600 plus shipping. Bindings not included.
  7. Ride Trident Boots Size 11. Almost new, 3 days on them. Bought them online but just too big. Had to go down 1/2 size. Triple Boa, Intuition wrap liner, top of line. Located at Mammoth. $250
  8. Brand new never mounted. $285 USD shipped. Please email. PP F and F add 3% PP getting screwed by PP lately on exchange kurt at bowcycle dot com
  9. They really friggin’ hurt. really though other than that. i have a new set of drivers, I like them, sort of. They are better than the old malamutes. So, for a long time most high end boots came in one of two configurations either a hinge type that works better but they are much softer or like the driver where to flex forward it forces the boot to deform this crushes the foot, that shit hurts and it’s because the driver has no hinge. It looks like it’s still this way with most brands.. I’ve had a couple sets of 32s and Burtons that hinge, this is a better design, why the hell cant they just build one with a stiffer tongue? Anyone have an answer to that? Pictured is a hinged design.. I actually forgot I had these boots.
  10. Stiff and in MINT condition.... worn once in my room to break them in. Size 8.5 mens. $200 CAN obo, buyer pays shipping
  11. Good Condition. Everything is there. Will need some mounting screws. $150 CAN obo, buyers pays shipping
  12. Hi bombers, here's my first post in your uber helpful forum.... First the bad news, 2 weeks ago all my gear got ripped off. Good news is that I get to upgrade everything. Basically there is so much gear out there now that I'm finding it difficult to choose something. My original board that I got back in 2002? was a Rossignol Strato. I can't remember the specs but it seemed much bigger than all the other boards that I see around, especially in the last few years. My specs are height: 180cm , 75kg, foot US 10.5 / EUR 45 So , I'm looking specifically for a softboot carver. I dont do tricks, ride backwards etc. Up untill last weekend I'd never tried another board. The guy at the baord rental let me try out as many of the shops boards that I wanted and when I told him they were all crap he lent me his own personal boards. Everything felt so small and awkward and floppy. The reality is that I ski in the Spanish pyrenees just west of Andorra. As of last year my 3 young kids are learning to ski and we go to a really small resort (Espot). After the mayhem of getting them ready for the slopes, I spend an hour with them before they go off to the kids club, then I get a few hours riding, then a couple more runs with the kids. So apart from some mid to high speed carving, the board has to handle mellow, narrow runs while avoiding the kids. If I buy online it must be from within the Eu zone to avoid contact with the nighmareish world of Spanish customs. Other option is to drive over to Andorra for tax-free gear, viladomat.com. Good powder riding is rare. I'd prefer to put the dollars into the best reduced footprint softboots I can find. My thoughts are Arbor A-frame : can't find EU stock Swoard dual / Pureboards : price Nidecker Legend : only comes in 164 length Völkl Coal Xt F2 Diablo : 166cm year 14/15 , great price Germany Nidecker Platinium 15 165W good price Spain I'm definitely thinking about this F2 if it's good for stiff softboots combined with SP Fastec Soft Bindings, also really good price. I'm concerned about the short lengths, any thoughts on the F2 and Nidecker? Cheers guys
