  1. Stowe will have better conditions and better carve-friendly terrain, but those weekend crowds...aye carumba. Sugarbush, while still crowded on weekends seems to better disburse the masses. Trails are a bit tight and rolly, but still some good opportunities. I go there when it dumps to ride softies as their trees are awesome and plentiful. It may be a bit sparse in April if VT doesn't start getting some snow. We're coming up on Presidents Weekend already and only have a third of what we usually have by now and northern VT has done much better than southern with the white stuff...fwiw
  2. @Carvin' Marvin I assure you it was trying to kill you. We talked about this at Lovey in December as I had the identical experience. That was the FIRST thing I sad to Mark after my maiden voyage on the 8RW. Get too far in front of it and it comes around so fast it launches in the opposite direction off the nose or load the tail and it sends you at warp speed into the woods, as @big mario can attest. I have to look back at the messages as I remember them being pretty funny, but I think Marks advice, in it's simplisctic form, was to ride the terrain, NOT the board. Try to even forget the board is underfoot, just maintain steady even heel and toe pressure as you tilt it in the direction you want to go. Haven't ridden the Contra, but from what I've watched, I expect it to be nearly identical to the Thirsty ride I love so much... Oh, and ice, yep, it's very different out here and takes a far different strategy. As good as the Thirst is on ice, sometimes it's not enough. And the condition of the ice can vary from run to run. Rode with @Mr Wonton this morning at Mountain Creek on my little SF and that was't enough effective edge to bridge the gap between the ever-changing conditions of faux-groom, ice, snowcone granular, etc. He was much better off on his XC. When it's like that, a 171-175 with a small sidecut and a plate is the way to go, just to bludgeon it all into submission...
  3. Fabulous. I have a Souly Grail coming from Amplid with a status of "On the Way" and no other details...

    Yo Lci!!

All of the major food groups covered. Looking at the picture again, it looks like the pork roll is shaking the the organic fudge pops for money...

    Yo Lci!!

Back on the menu on 2/27. More Jersey than ever...

    Beaver Creek

Monday the 28th would be great. Both are fine actually. What the hell else do I have to do aside from lap Copperopolis. So long as the LCI doesn't kill me on Sunday. Vail still crazy on a Monday? I'm in for either...

    Beaver Creek

This old guy will be in CO from 2/22 to 3/3. @Carvin' Marvin, you off to Mexico then? Thinking about wandering over from Summit to Eagle county to ride Vail or BC and could use a tour guide if you're not already tired of helping the elderly...
  8. Did they forget to pay their wifi bill? Please leave the cameras on all night so we can get peek at some hot Prinoth groom action.
  9. Alright, well maybe there are different iso color codes. I'd say they're Raymonds. Cripes I'm gonna be looking at die spring catalogs all night on the innernetz...
  10. Die springs are die springs, right? Longs are 2.5 x .75, shorts are 1.5 x .75 aboutish? Red(heavy) die springs. You can get them just about everywhere. I doubt Fin was buying custom rate springs and having them painted. Those are right from the Raymond or Danly catalog. https://store.diesupplies.com/raymond-red-die-spring-medium-heavy-duty-usa-series-inches-p144.aspx
  11. I picked up a 20/21 159xt from Ivan last year and it was a blast. I say "was" because it was "acquired" by my son and swept off to CO. A Titan XT would definitely be amazing.
  12. I was there Thursday morning, @jtslalom I couldn't explain the conditions. Thought it to be the perfect MK day, but couldn't do a thing with it and left after 5 runs. 3 layers. Soft fluffy top, crispy cookie bottom and a smooth peanut butter center. Oh and sprinkle some pretzels on the top too. Perhaps the groomers had too much of the wacky weed with Wacky Jackie? Found plenty of grooming grenades.

    Copper and A-Basin

I just returned from my second week at Copper. Yep. The local guys have it. We put in prolly 7k per day alone lapping Copperopolis in the mornings. Collage, Andy's Encore, even the right side of Main Vein which everyone seems to ignore. You always seem to bump into friendly fruitbooters there as well. Light crowds during the week too.
  14. That's that I like the Titanflex for. I have a 22 wide Flux that I can set them all the way back and go 45/35, loosen the BTS on the Track 700's, it's a blast in pow. Who needs those smushy softboots and what a time waster those silly straps are.
  15. I'll be back in NJ this weekend. Meet me at The Creek next week. I can certainly get you on the path to mediocrity.
  16. Yup. That surge of dopamine tripping the reward circuit at 0:40. The hand drag. The grin at the end. I've seen that before...
  17. I always buy a pass. I say I'll never do it again. But I know I will. She's that 2AM booty call. More like 8:30AM till 10AM, then make the walk-of-shame back over the bridge to the truck where I sob uncontrollably. I think it's been cold home so hopefully they expand the terrain a bit when I return from my view of the American Eagle lift at Copper...

    Yo Lci!!

You have to. Don’t think, just do. I’m here this week, planned to be here for 2, but have to head back on Saturday. Bummed I have to miss. Love riding with this crew. To anyone else around, I’m riding Copper through Friday with my boys. Met a couple fruitbooters already. You’ll know my son when you see him on hard boots as well. say hi.

    Yo Lci!!

I these guys. Never pass up an opportunity to ride a Sunday at Lovey. Great riders, even better people. Can't wait till the Pork Roll Express returns in January....and February...and probably March and April as well. For the record... I did warn @big mario, despite his time on the Stupid Fun, when you step on the tail of that XC, she'll come around faster than you may be expecting to handle. She goes to 11. Grins confirmed such. Jersey Strong. That being said, watching @Carvin' Marvin ride, I'm WAY too nice to my 8RW and wanna ride like him when I grow up. So much fun watching him have so much fun. @inkaholic's magic boots...smooth. @svr I heard NOTHING about his job, didn't see any pictures, none of that. Just got off a bonus day with Ice, his SO, and a host of others at Copper. Too much fun. I need to start doing Pilates again before I come out in Jan. 15k vert went REALLY fast...
  20. You could never un-see that...
  21. That's a great question. There's a lot of plastic in there. I had 6-7 seasons on a set without issue, but I always travelled with a spare set. I worried more about the cable breaking than an auto-release. Even if that cantilever thingie fails, which seems through non-engineer eyes to be the next weak link, the springs keep the springs engaged. I've since Fintec'd, but still travel with a spare set of Intecs. They're only what hundy? Seems like a normal wear-n-tear item. Cheap enough to replace every season or two. Is there a rebuild kit out there?
  22. Nobody wants to see that. Not even my wife.
  23. Yeah I'm sure. Coverage is pretty good everywhere. Well in all honesty there are some spots that by noon time looked like they should be avoided, but not a surprise when everyone is on the same 14 or so trails. A lot of grooming going on today so maybe that number will go up tomorrow. I'll be out at first lift...on my SG rock board...if I can move.
  24. I just remembered I'm in Colorado. They DO have stronger faster acting motrinishlike pharmaceuticals here.
