  1. ^ Makes sense. My MK was second hand so I can't speak to that. HOWEVER, all my other boards from Sean were delivered with a "Ready to Ride" tune and have been great. It's an option you have to check while ordering...
  2. Me too. If I could only figure out how to put a plate on a 5-hole PJ7. I wish I put more time into being a better rider than building a better ride. Barry and I have had spirited dialog in the past in pm's on making sporty boards easy on old(er) guys who aren't ready to admit they are in fact...old(er).
  3. @jtslalom, I love your enthusiasm and optimism. Somewhere in a northern NJ mall @Mr Wonton will be weeping tears of joy into his Orange Julius on said opening day...
  4. We need a :dismay: emoji. The MK has one job which it does brilliantly. That job is to be an angry inconsiderate little ripper to slalom through meat gates on firm narrow trails for an hour-o-fun tops because anything longer turns your legs to mashed potatoes and makes your cheeks hurt from smiling too hard. Sore knees?!? It don't care about no sore knees. That "buzz" is a full tongue-out raspberry saying "nice try, pudding boy. put a little more love handle into those turns...". I've tried it with effectively the most non-invasive plate ala Geckos and they turned the MK into a broomstick. Don't bother. You're welcome. I've already done the research. I give you 1 run with a plated MK and guarantee you'll be walking back to the truck to remove it. I'm gonna start a "Kneel...you were right" thread as a placeholder.
  5. Not just software changes this season. There are some hardware changes afoot too. Sinline, Oxessesses, c'mon @WinterGold give us some board and plate info to geek out to.
  6. That's a funky looking tennis racket..

    Yo Lci!!

Was that the 186 you were riding? I'm pretty sure I'm gonna need one of those.
  8. Elevation is your enemy. It's not the flavor. BAH is not terrible, but that crust is. I think they make matters worse with those monster slices. It just doesn't proof right at elevation like it does down at sea level. It's either gummy(raw) or dry. Everywhere, not just there. This is strictly NY/NJ style pizza we're talking about. Just can't be done there. If you find yourself lost in @big mario's motherland, look me up and I'll take you on a Portnoy approved carb tour. When I need something "pizza-like" I usually go to Peppino's in Frisco. Owned and operated by a Southie. The Connecticut to Boston corridor is a pretty close second so they know what they are doing, but it's still not like home. My son has been coaching/experimenting with the chefs at Elkhorn in BV, but he says there is still work to be done. He's coming home for a few days over Thanksgiving and his first order of business is an hour wait for a pie from Delucia's. I may have to start freezing pizzas along with porkrolls when I come out there. Sorry for mucking up your board search, but it looks like someone came through.

    Yo Lci!!

Poor Ice and Oddjob waiting for private citizen svr. What happened, he lose his security clearance?
  10. I'll take it. Looks like a 4x4. I'll message to work out the rest...
  11. Water-injected, duh. I'm slow. The race area. That's right. They pump water onto and under the turns so they hold up. Off Andy's, Ore Deal or Overload. Yeah, made that mistake once. It's quite firm on the course setting areas. Those are fun carving trails too. Silly racers ruining it for everyone...
  12. And their rendition of "east coast" pizza... I have a 168 Flux with a 22 waist and low miles, but that's not enough of what you are looking for. 173-175 may not even be enough unless you start getting into a +13m sidecut.
  13. "Water-injected" snow? Early season rock encounters are probably the only thing you have to look out for, but that is usually not a problem post Dec. 1. Wax, scrape, gummy stone and go. Shit. I bet the boards I left at my sons house in BV don't even have the slightest edge discoloration/deformation/dulling even while left bare over the summer, whereas my boards here on the water-injected and ice-locked slopes of the east coast have edges that are the color of ponderosa pine bark and almost as sharp. They require constant attention if you want to stay on the skinny side.
  14. Best board ever. Rumor has it while balancing on a barstool at No Name, Mark fell and hit his head, knocking him unconscious. When he came to, he'd had a vision of the WARP shape which makes time travel...er uh the 8RW possible.
  15. Buy a board, beat it like a redheaded step-child, buy another. Support your local board builder. Honestly, I have boards that I consider "rock" boards, but I just pick a board that I want to ride that day. I try not to overthink it...

    Yo Lci!!

Sounds like pretty much every day at Mountain Creek. Welcome home.

    Yo Lci!!

Those rotten kids of mine forced me to stay another day in Steamboat riding in that dreadful powder on Friday AND Saturday. Even had to ride in soft boots. The humanity. I couldn't move this morning. Sorry to miss it...again. I'll be at Copper this week if anyone is around.
  18. @bigwavedave I was skeptical on the 6-toe, but not any more. Those came out great. I bet you could reduce the stack height of the bumpers to 5mm and still get the same dampening with a slightly softer bumper. There are 10mm M6 standoffs in 18-8 stainless and aluminum which may do the trick, but I'd have to fire up the mini-lathe for the upper 5mm to seat the plate a la gecko style. Which spacer did you end up using, apex or virus?

    Yo Lci!!

Close your eyes?!? Keep lookin' over your shoulder for straightliners! And DEFINITLY don't drop your towel. I'll be there, Steamboat, not Strawberry, all next week. Pork roll express rolling into DEN tomorrow afternoon! Again, not at Strawberry Park. Lovey on 3/26 and 4/2 hopefully.
  20. I'd say you were the highlight, but it's Creek. The bar is pretty low...
  21. Jersey has been embedded for a while. I even know the secret handshake. Now if they can only figure out good pizza...
  22. Fine. Then no complaining about droughts for at least two years. And keep your people out of Colorado! There's gotta be something...
  23. What am I doing with my life. Another Friday morn at Creek with the Wonton. First chair. They made snow, "Yay!" I guess. Wasn't the typical teeth-rattling ice morning so we proceeded the wreck the place. At times I wasn't sure if I was carving down to ice or bedrock. I felt kinda bad for all the old folks skiing through our trail of destruction, but it passed. A couple of systems to move through, one being a noreaster so hopefully they get a little help to extend this dismal season...
