  1. I'd say apples and oranges from my perspective as I've ridden a friends 170 Incline in soft boots and my go-to rides, that I ride at Stratton often as a matter of fact, are both a 164 "Traditional" Flux and a 168 "Bomber" Flux that Sean built for me with 22cm waist to ride with hard boots. I'll have to find the build sheet to get the rest of the specs. Both are stiff and damp and perfectly adept at handling diverse conditions the northeast has to offer. However, if you were to compare them to SUV's, the Incline would be a Toyota 4Runner and the Flux a Porsche Cayenne. Sure the 4Runner feels sporty enough when it needs to be, but where it really shines is when you leave the pavement. The Cayenne can certainly handle mild offroading, but it's a hell of a lot more fun carving the pavement. Which is analogous to our typical northeast conditions. Great groomers in the morning, ice, crud and bumps in the afternoon. The Incline and Flux are solid on both ends of that spectrum, it just depends which end you like to play on most. Now the difference between the 164 Traditional and the 168 Bomber Flux that I see is the length and shovel. The 164 has a more aggressive shape. I've found anything over 6" of powder and it gets really squirrelly when its edge can no longer bite into something. The 168 with a wider rounded nose floats just fine, especially in the heavy wet stuff we get. I have a place in Dorset and ride Stratton and Bromely often if you want to check them out next season.
  2. Thank you, this is awesome. Was looking for this, but couldn't remember the thread it was attached to. I was going try printing this in POM(Delrin) with modifications to fit better with Virus Powerlocks. My concern though with printing is thermal expansion and contraction breaking the bond between layers and the thing just disintegrating. Solid block might be better to keep it under pressure? Dunno, certainly not an engineer, but looking forward to testing it out...
  3. I have about 20 days on them. Deeluxe Thermoflex liners. Horrible inexplicable shin splints after the first day. So bad I could only ride soft boots(Burton Ions) for a few days. Was ready to put them up for sale, but decided to give them another shot before I did. Absolutely LOVE them now. I ride mostly wider 22cm Doneks now at 60/56 degrees with Gecko's so boot, nor buckle, out not an issue. The gold buckles are absolutely FABULOUS.
  4. I've received items faster from Ivan in Slovenia(no vat) than from Canada...fwiw
  5. I took my original 1991 pink asym PJ6 of the wall a couple weeks ago with every intention of only taking 1 run and ditching it for a brand new Flux that Sean built for me. I rode the PJ the ENTIRE day. Now it's a HORRIBLE board in most conditions, but in the right conditions, I swear you can hear angels singing when you get those edges to hook up...
  6. If you're on the tall-n-heavy side like I am, You may also want to look into Gecko Stealth or the Kessler K. Plate Rocket Cross. Both have a wider platform to distribute the weight more effectively. Though I haven't had them in my hand, it appears the that the Kessler may be delrin or aluminum, not carbon fiber, and be a little more durable. My girlish 6'1" 210lb frame managed to destroy the Gecko Cross plates after 2 days of hard riding in the northeast. Though I have to admit, the ride on them was phenomenal compared to no plate, not to mention Apex customer service is top notch, as they were ready to next-day me replacements to Stratton where I was staying. Definite thumbs up to Apex...
  7. Nice. The end of January had me looking into Plan B with the lack of snow. The prevailing pattern is in place with another dump expected this weekend, just in time for me and my boys to arrive...
  8. Fabulous! My son is gonna love them and I'm gonna love him not using mine...

    Virus BX 168cm.

That's an even better deal. I'm pretty confident the local conditions are not very good. And if this is really ok with you, I'll be in Park City the first week in March to try it out. I think conditions may be marginally better there now... PM'd you my address. I'm happy to pay shipping both ways or even pick it up. I can find other reasons to be down near your area to make a day out of it...

    Virus BX 168cm.

Warren, northern Somerset county. Same here. It takes a lot of powder to get me out of hard boots, but I've been broadening my horizons and trying new things. :) But I just don't know what to expect from a BX board. It could be a great northeast bulletproof and crud board or...not. I just don't have the experience. That's why I was thinking we could meet on a hill close by and I could try it out? I'd pay for your lift ticket so I'm not wasting your time. You could let me know in pm...

    Virus BX 168cm.

Man. VERY tempted, but SO many unknowns here. And you've NEVER ridden it? I bet it's an absolute DEMON on ice and hard groomers. But no idea what this would be like otherwise. Where are you located in NJ, Glenn?
  12. No worries, Johnny. I'll catch up with you later tonight...
  13. If you could ship it to me for that price, Johnny I'll take it... 07059(NJ) Neil
