  1. I pretty much Sturm und Drang it down the mountain. Lex is a pork pie and shades away from being a Blues Brother...
  2. Yeah, but which one? The G44 makes the most sense now that 22LR prices are back down, G17L may reach without even squeezing the trigger, G36 for concealment and super fun factor? So many choices...

    Yo Lci!!

Watch for a spike in gout cases in central Colorado. The kid goes through a log in a month, but he's 22, has a bmi in the teens and squats +350. He also shares a lot of it with his brother firemen on Sunday breakfast when on shift so he's using his super nitrate powers for good. But you're right. Decent rolls are the real problem out there. If I were a smart man I would build a device that allows yeast to rise then bake at around 14psi just to spit out good Kaisers all day. Picked up a 4-pack per Inky. It will get used. Will probably get a Monarch pass as well. While BV isn't quite the location I planned on buying a place as it's a bit of a commute to, well, everywhere you can slide on snow, it's perfect for him with a 2-day-on/4-day-off schedule in Pbville. It's also a great jump off point to spend 2-3 days riding some pretty spectacular places within a 4 hour drive. You know you have quite a few of those places out there...

Porkroll Express headded to Buena Vista for the first two, maybe three, weeks of December to get the kid moved into his new place. Can't be all setting up wifi innernetz, assembling furniture, installing washer/dryers and hanging tvs and stuff on walls. Need to schedule some time for fun. Doesn't a Monarch pass also get you a couple days at Lovey...
  5. I was just about to do exactly that with my O-Drives and Supermatics. I'm a bit perplexed about the "every cm counts" comment. To be honest, I ride softies maybe 5 times a year if that and can be completely off base. Yea the heel loop is beefy, but compared to other binding I have in front of me, I cant imagine that 1, 2 or even 3cm is gonna be that straw the camel is gonna bootout on or not. The binding might not be the proper focus here, more than riding a board that is an appropriate width for your foot length. The 25.5cm model of "one-size-fits-all" is the main reason I stopped enjoying softies. I think I have Burton Step-On X's, Unions and Cartels around on my son's old rides that I can do a comparison tonight.
  6. That's the first thing I noticed as well thinking that was a skill I might like to learn, especially for riding here in the east. Better for offensive carving on tight icy trails rather then defensive carving. I may do that already to a point, but have no racing chops to confirm...
  7. Is that the Darwin on the far left? They need to make that one in a 175ish length with a +26.5ish waist. That would be a homerun for us bigger-boned(and footed) folks...
  8. @big mario Did you see the Dickies any of the times they played the Court Tavern in New Brunswick? I was there both times. Actually, you probably caught them at the Parrot which they played as well..or City Gardens. Didn't see them at the GP, but did at City Cardens. Mayhem... Oh, derailed, what I'm listening to now...
  9. I had it on cassette. I may still have Gigantor and Banana Split singles on vinyl which I allegedly "borrowed" from WRSU where my friend had a radio show in college. Allegedly...
  10. When I told him I didn't want to see any pictures of mine...he sent me pictures of yours! He's evil. Check the parquet for dicks...
  11. Porkroll oil > linseed oil for wood.
  12. Seems like more and more freestyle boards the come with it attached at the bindings as well. You NEVER see that with alpine boards...
  13. Superconductor 7.3M, aka '59 Honeyburst, aka BMF'r. .347 index puts her in the Super Manana range, but that's probably the titanal talking. Bad thing is I wont be able to find out till I make it out to CO in early December, but honestly I'll just stare at her till then making vroom sounds. Mark hit it out of tha park with this one. She's a stunner. Pictures don't do it justice. I gave him complete freedom with this build and didn't want to see it till it arrived on my doorstep. No pressure. Though I am relieved he didn't draw a dick on the topsheet.
  14. HELP! Stepbrother! I'm stuck in a cardboard box! Bow chicka bow bow...
  15. My wife just smuggled 2 loaves, that's 12 lbs of nitratey goodness, to PbVille for our son. I told her she needed to hide them under her shirt like Brad Davis in Midnight Express, but figured she'd end up looking like that Canadian woodshop teacher with those enormous prosthetic breasts... December you'll get your fix.
  16. I live in New Jersey. The weather as related to our local bump is the reason I spend more winter time in VT and CO. But, yes, on my present 52 year stint on this marble I have noticed some changes in the local weather. Hurricanes and blizzards in late October. 2 week stretches of 50 degree temps in January and February. I don't recall that when I was younger. I do remember a LOT more snow with (then) Vernon and Pocono resorts opening the first week of December and closing the first week of April. Now the week before Christmas seems to be the norm followed by closed mid March. Looking back historically, however snowfall amounts are on the rise contradicting what my perception was. Perhaps warmer than avg temps and rain AFTER appreciable snowfall are the catalyst of diminishing snow pack? Souther VT where I ride seems to have more of the dreaded 50 degree and freezing rain days, when in the past it was just 40 and freezing rain. Looking at the data by decade, snowfall totals are on the rise and well above average here and in New England. No doubt the west presently has a water problem. Is that climate change or population change? I dunno, dude. The big picture is so complex. I think there is so much more data out there to collect and our arrogance gets in the way in thinking we know exactly what to do to change it's course, IF we can change it's course. We just changed the orbit of a meteor so there is hope...unless of course that direction doesn't affect some other cataclysmic event. And full disclosure, me and several of my friends have spent countless hours aboard local commercial fishing fleets collecting data for NOAA/NMFC and NJMFC throughout different fishing seasons. I can assure you, what you are aware of is nothing compared to what actually goes on that DOESN'T get reported. It's ****ed.
  17. That's gonna be a hard sell for me to believe climate change is responsible for the decline of ANY commercialy harvested food souce from our oceans. Aside from energy, name one other industry the takes a resource WITHOUT cultivating or returning something BACK to sustain and perpetuate that resource. We've been raping the worlds oceans for a hunrded years. No amount of agenda based climate-splaining changes that fact.
  18. Whelp, it's only money. Tried to buy them direct as well on the 10th and too was surprised how quickly they sold out. Went down the list of dealers and found some in CT. Two days later they were on my doorstep. They will be replacing O-Drives. Compared to O-Drives, EVERYTHING feels heavy. Did the obligitory carpet ride, first impression, they are VERY easy to get in and out of. We'll see what happens on a faster surface affected by gravity in tandem with a belly full of oatmeal. That release lever sure looks pretty far, but the effort still beats the hell out of sitting in the snow. They rated stiffness at 8/10, but these feel every bit as stiff as the 10/10 O-Drives. The straps are definitely an improvement. I only ride softies maybe 3 days a year if I'm lucky to hit the hero pow days right...

What's up with all the fluffy white climate change out there? I already have 10 rounds of teh golf in and will be firing up the grill at the shore for my freeloaders...er I mean family this weekend...
  21. @barryjI've put full days on mine no problem, though a full day for me is about 3 hours and 15k. It cruises just fine, but obviously thats not how the value of an MK is calculated in GpC(Giggles per Carve). I probably had as many east coast days on the MK as I did with the SF this year. Don't let them scare you. I ride it relaxed and it whips around just as fast as when your throttle it. I just find its a lot of work because you WANT to work it. It's that much fun.

Pork roll is easy to freeze and carry on. Emotional support animals and TSA dogs give me the once-over, but I'm otherwise overlooked as a nitrate mule. A backpack full of fresh hardrolls is some new territory. This summer I'll be on I70 with the sprinter, bikes and maybe a dog or two to stay for a couple weeks in the collegiates. You'll have dibs on all my available freezer space on the way out.

Breck side definitely has better food options. Copper is cullinary wasteland. They need a food gondola over 91. Something. Anything.

Late Tuesday night. Picking up kid #2 from school in the Bronx, which sucks but also nice not to fly solo. I'd smuggle a large plain from Pugslie's if I could keep it warm in the suitcase. Colorado has a sever pizza problem, though Peppinos in Frisco is a respectable take on the baked dough, sauce and cheese concept. I'll see what I can do.
