  1. Getting on the chair with 2 softbooters, I get asked... "How do you like the Nordic board?" Took me a second to figure out to respond to that one. At first I just chuckled.
  2. My 8 year old Nirvana on the left and... brand new Contra on the right! 185 x 22 x 12.5m Can't wait to ride it! But that won't be happening this weekend with all the snow we've got hitting Oregon right now!
  3. Anybody seen this? One of the photos in rotation on the Beech Mountain Resort homepage features a Donek carving board!
  4. The Ride Insano is a good option for those with wider feet.
  5. Does anyone know if Bomber will be reopening the store and selling off old stock?
  6. I've experience a similar baseplate failure before. Mine sheared near the heel like your's did. FYI, I only use the long baseplates now. They are beefier around the toe and heel due to being longer overall and wider in the toe and heel areas. The long baseplates are somewhat of a secret item. They were never available on the website store. Only available by request. I don't know if they have any in stock or are still making them at this point. +1 for long baseplates! Jim, please keep making them for us big guys!!!
  7. I would recommend Dominator Momentium paste wax. It works very well for warm, sticky conditions. http://www.dominatorwax.com/products/momentium-warm
  8. Are there plans to make an E size shell? I'd be interested. Sounds like a great project.
  9. I've got some used Ride Insano boots that are a size 13. They fit large and the liners are a bit packed out. I would think they will fit a 14.
  10. Mt Bachelor in Oregon will be open until May 29th.
  11. How long and how wide is this board?
  12. Beckman drops the knowledge once again. Thanks.
  13. Mike, you're famous... there's a couple pics of you in this Oregonian piece on the new chairlift. http://www.oregonlive.com/entertainment/index.ssf/2016/04/righteous_bro_mt_bachelor_is_g.html
  14. Mt. Bachelor is still going strong with almost 100 inches at the base.
  15. A skier that I often run into and ride with on my carving board saw me one day on an all mountain board in softboots. He said "That's not your regular board."
  16. Changing tongues will change the flex of the boot. Head boot tongues are orange - softest, black - medium, silver - stiffest. If you are happy with the flex then likely what you need is to do work to your liners such as adding padding or replace your liners.
  17. I would try a 30 if I were you. I wear a men's 13 wide and Mondo 30 is the right length for me.
  18. It's probably a foilboard. Those guys like the Clicker hardware.
  19. The boot/binding engagement looks to be largely unchanged. The Clicker system was/is great. Very strong, very little to fail. The same problems exist but are much the same as with any snowboard boot... you need to clear the snow from the bottom of the boot before you enter the binding. That is the same with any softboot/hardboot system. It's generally as easy as having a decent stomp pad like the Dakine Spike Stomp. Just scrape the snow off the bottom of the boot and then stomp down with your heel. That's usually all it takes to clear the snow from the bottom of the boot. I'd still be riding Clickers if I could find boots. I thought the system was fantastic. I personally can't buy into the Kwicker's now because we all know what happens when a manufacturer abandons a product line. I simply couldn't find the boots that I wanted anymore.
  20. Michelle, I see on your SES order page that the ticket options say 3 Day Get 4th Day Free and 4 Day Get 5th Day Free. Are those consecutive days only or can the days be split up?
  21. To me this board feels similar to a Burton Supermodel or a Burton Omen but stiffer.
