CarvPatrol
I was referred to this forum by a guy riding our small 'hill' here in Michigan. He was rocking a nice longboard, something I had been looking for for a long time. Every shop in the area has told me they no longer make these things. I have been buying second hand stuff for awhile now. I am much happier to know that there are more carvers out there then I previously thought. I have been patrolling on my boards for about 7-8 years now. Started with a couple Burtons and now am riding an older Rossignol. I can't wait to look around this place and see what is out there now to ride! A video I made with my GoPro, my first actually. https://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=10150155882453294

I am looking forward to a technology jump now that I found a gateway to some better stuff. The wife won't like it much when she sees the bank account though me I think
boardguru
:biggthumpWelcome to BOL. The boards now will blow you away with how well they ride. My wife was riding that same model of Rossi this year, until we bought her a metal Coiler from gray-on-tray in Feb. She was having a great time on the Rossi, then went to a whole new level of riding on the new generation of board. I hope that you have a great time when you move to the newer boards and equiptment, I know that we are loving it. Mick
Pat Donnelly
Jacob, The area in your clip looks familiar, would it be Mt Holly? I ride nearby at Pine Knob.

queequeg
Top Gun! Patrol on plates! Awesome! You're psyched - going from that old Rossi to a new-school deck is going to be mind-blowingly awesome!
Algunderfoot
Hey Carve patrol, What hill is home? I ride Indianhead, have handed out dozens of bomber cards. Just curious. I'm planning on being up this weekend.
Fleaman
Hi carvepatrol, there is 2 patrol including myself here At Apex Mountain Penticon that use hard boots all the time. I ride a Coiler AMT 177 with cateks and intec step ins on my deeluxe indy's a bit stiff but I am closer to 290 with my pack vest on. There are a few more patrollers here on the board too. CarvPatrol
Jacob, The area in your clip looks familiar, would it be Mt Holly? I ride nearby at Pine Knob. It would be Mt Holly, it is my local hill. I should go shoot a vid at Mt. Brighton so I can play like I am Aspen Extreme :p With my pack and stuff on I am probably 230 at most. I can't wait to get on a longer board, with a little one on the way I have to see what I can scrounge up Crappy pic of my old factory prime... I liked this board a LOT, until it was stolen. If I ever see this one on my local hill there will be hell to pay. It has some VERY distinctive cracks in the nose from where I was jumping it and landed on a kid that was sitting and chilling with a buddy below the crest of a jump, and not visible from above. LambertoMI
All, Hello new BOL michigan riders. I ride 4-5 times a week at "Aspen Extreme" in brighton. Would love to hook up with some fellow "what the heck is that thing" riders. The local seen is ok. Not many out there but me. The people like to see me float down the hill. I get all kinds of positive comments from all ages. Including ski patrol. Lets plan a ride day soon. Would love to check out other gear and you guys can laugh at my old Primes and Asyms. Lamberto From what I know Holly should be done this weekend, that is what Management told us last week anyway. Unfortunately I can't get out this weekend :( I imagine Brighton will soon follow. LambertoMI
Boyne is open late though! I think we could pull a Saturday up there. Late March or early April? I always do a slushcup up there in April.
Trenchman
There are 4 to 6 carvers at Crystal on most weekends. I will be there this and next Sunday. April 3 is their projected closing date. Nubs Nob is closing on April 10 which I hope to be there for.
knoch
Whats up JeepFreak? I'm one of those carvers at Crystal Mountain. Clebner I didn't see you out there today. You would have gotten a laugh out of watching me eat snow and mess up my thumb skiing, and then come back out and eat some more snow on tele gear. Anyway jeepfreak you should try to make it up to Crystal before they close. I should be able to get up there at least this coming weekend and maybe one more. two_ravens
Another hardboot patroller - took a few pics of BigDogDave in action at Kelly Canyon last Saturday. Will try to get some carving shots up too sometime..... :)
Fleaman
oh man, having the front rope of the handles undone is a big no no here. It is kinda funny, we dont even undo it when we do change overs.
Kimo
No offense to bigdogdave, but the patroler who hauled me down the mountain was way cuter. I think she caught me checking out her "form" a couple times.
Terryw
oh man, having the front rope of the handles undone is a big no no here. It is kinda funny, we dont even undo it when we do change overs. Maybe that is why he has some one on tail rope. Wonder if the rope to the chain break was broken, but no one noticed when they brought the toboggan. That slope doesn't look all that steep or icy to warrant a tail rope in the picture, but I guess we don't know what is below them!

It is kinda funny, we dont even undo it when we do change overs. That's interesting, we never use the rope on the handles. Its normally neatly wrapped around the left handle. About the only thing it gets used for is holding the handles in the folded position when we take a sled back to the top on the lift. ________ Prilosec Settlement News
Fleaman
each Area is different I guess. We have to have a tail gunner all the time as a safety in case the driver takes a spill. It is kind of redundant on some of the cat tracks but that is what the ski area wants us to do so we do it. Although we do have a few hot dogs on the patrol that keep the chain up dont use a tail gunner.
two_ravens
Maybe the front rope is meant to keep this sort of thing from happening? :D p.s. CarvPatrol, I believe BigDogDave is on his new Donek FreeCarve metal 185 in the this pic - one of the sweet new options you might check out as you explore all the new gear.
