  1. I moved up to Houghton at the end of September, so I haven't been down to Crystal at all. I am planning on making it to Maruette soon, but work has kept me so busy that I have only been on the hill once so far this season. I am planning on being at Crystal during the Teddy Knape Film Fest though, so if youre out that weekend look for me.
  2. How has Crystal been for riding this season?
  3. Have any Burton toe bails in your spare parts drawer you'd be willing to part with?
  4. If toe bail sale falls through I will take it.
  5. I am very interested in the board. Hopefully I am able to keep it here in Michigan. Do you have any pictures of the base?
  6. Gary, is there any way you can show me some pictures of what you have?
  7. I think $100 plus shipping is a little steep for that set. Thank you for the offer though. Gary, I would like to see some pictures of what you have.
  8. For that much I would definitely like to see pictures first.
  9. How much do you want for them wolf?
  10. I'm not looking for anything special, nor am I looking to spend a ton of money. I just picked up another board to have for people to try if they are interested in the sport, and I have no bindings for it. Let me know what you have and how much you're willing to let it go for.
  11. Funny, I worked there as a lifty for a season about 3 years ago and don't recall where seeing another person on an Alpine board while working or riding.
  12. Careful in the soft snow at Brighton or the patrolmen will yell at you for wrecking the hill. Thats happened to me a few times there. I got a good laugh out of it. I've also never seen anyone else on an alpine board at Brighton ever. The regular crowd there gets really confused by it. I live close by so keep me posted if you head out. I haven't been out this season because I have had two bum hands since thanksgiving, but soon I will be able to hit the slopes and take it easy. Actually I'm planning on getting up to Crystal Mountain this coming weekend to at least ski and see how it goes with gloves on.
  13. Well that answers that question.
  14. I thought Nubs was shutting down...I know Highlands is.
  15. Lol I picked one if these up with Burton demo plates for $40 a few months ago
  16. I will be at highlands Saturday and Sunday, or maybe nubs Saturday and highlands Sunday. Sunday is the Boyne Highlands downhill, and I don't plan on missing it.
  17. Whats up JeepFreak? I'm one of those carvers at Crystal Mountain. Clebner I didn't see you out there today. You would have gotten a laugh out of watching me eat snow and mess up my thumb skiing, and then come back out and eat some more snow on tele gear. Anyway jeepfreak you should try to make it up to Crystal before they close. I should be able to get up there at least this coming weekend and maybe one more.
  18. A few friends of mine used to gamble with eachother on how many turns I would make before I fell. They would stand at the top of the run, watch me until I hit the snow, exchange money, and then start their run.
  19. I have a pass again and my schedule is still the same so I will try to be up there most Sundays and Mondays. Not sure when the first trip will be for me this year but I will definitely be up there around Christmas and new year.
  20. Hey, where exactly in Michigan are you, and where do you ride? I frequent Crystal Mountain all winter, but live down in the Ann Arbor area. I noticed the same problem you have with the lack of available equipment around Michigan for people to try out who show an interest, so I usually carry 4 board and binding set ups with me whenever I hit the slopes. When people ask me about it and show interest, I offer to let them try it out. As long as ski boots are available in their size I can make it happen. I actually spent an entire day on the slopes with a skier who wanted to give it a shot two years ago. NMU Rider is right about the carvers here being more than happy to ride with others they find on the hill. I do every chance I get, because it doesn't seem like the opportunity presents itself very often. I remember a day several years ago I found myself with 7 or 8 other alpine boarders. I'm not sure who knew who, if anyone did, but that day was the most fun I had ever had riding hard boots.

  23. rcall what part of michigan are you in? I'd give you that same offer and pick it up from you so you don't have to deal with shipping.

    Crystal Mtn.

So I'm assuming the snow at Crystal won't last through the week with this warm weather. That was some nice weather for a last weekend but man did that snow melt fast this year. It seems like we usually get a lot more spring weather slope time than this. It was nice riding with all of you this season. Darren, welcome to the bomber forum I guess. I didn't know you had joined. See you all on the hill next season unless they find a way to stay open through next weekend.
