I wish i could make it down to Crystal to meet up with some of you. Usually it's pretty slim there but one day last season that i was out there i found 7 others on alpine gear and we all ended up on Buck at the same time. Had a lot of fun that day and i wish i could be there for the next time that happens. Have fun out there on the hill.

is bohemia worth bothering with if its not real fresh powder? does it get chopped up really bad, or is there enough terrain that i can go on a day that doesnt necessarily follow a big dump and have it still be worth it?

pebu, i haven't been on the freestyle board since 05 and it was only for the boardercross event at uscsa nationals that year. i'd have to say boarding the pow is way more fun than skiing it though, so what do you think, is it worth bringing the skis and the freestyle board and switchin it up at the hill, or should i stick to one or the other?

I just moved up to Hancock and got a pass at Ripley. Talk about a hard hill to carve on... Anyway, if there is anyone else up this way that attempts to ride an alpine board I would like to know who you are. I know there is always the 2 hour trip to Marquette, but that won't happen very often. I'll let everyone know if I get a chance to head down state toward my old stomping grounds too. Hopefully that will happen at least a few times this winter.

I'll be up at Crystal mountain probably from the 26th or 27th of December through the 3rd of January. Just curious who will be out there at the same time, and if anyone is planning on attending or maybe even submitting a film to the Teddy Knape film fest. Let me know if you'll be out there.

Pebu, I'll be at Crystal now and then this year i think. Most of my time will be spent up around Michigan tech though because ill be going to school there come January. I'm sure I'll run into you again somewhere. Be sure to let me know when you're heading north if you do. Rob

So was anyone from here out at crystal on this past Saturday? There were more alpine boards on the hill than I have ever seen there. Five of us were lapping buck together for a few hours and another three, sometimes four, were lapping behind us, so we even got a show while on the chairlift. That was definently the most fun I've had on the board, so hopefully we can make it happen again this season.

Hey, I'll be out there this weekend. I won't have my truck parked over in the buck lot this time so you can find me, I'll be driving a minivan that doesnt stick out. You should be able to spot me either with a 3-track skier, or a girl that looks way too old to be wearing bunny ears on her helmet, with bunny ears on her helmet. Hope I find some hard booters out there.

Hey, pebu, i didn't make it up this weekend because i was sick. Looks like i didn't miss much, it would have been super cold out. I'll be up next weekend for sure with some friends, none of whom board, but if the conditions are right I'll still be on mine. I'm surprised i haven't caught you out there on the hill yet. I'm usually really easy to find. Did they get the clipper up and running again? That was a huge crowd maker last weekend.

Hey Pebu, I met the guy with the yellow burton board on Sunday over on Loki. He waited for me at the chair to ask what I thought would help him not wash out the tail. I got his name but already can't remember it. I saw him taking a few runs and you're right, he looked like a good carver. I never did see him with anyone else on an alpine board though. There were a bunch of us out this weekend, but most of them left early sunday afternoon. Eight on alpine boards that I can think of off the top of my head.

Tacky... I do it every weekend I'm there. I was in front of them, left, and then came back and the one I was in front of had pulled forward and filled the space I was in. So I backed in behind him in between two of the parallel parked cars. I'll be up there next weekend. Good luck healing the brain.

Hey, sorry I missed you out there Pebu. I was with my girlfriend and she has a 9 week old puppy that needs to be taken care of way too often. I had to leave to let it out, but I was back out on the hill later that night. Hopefully I'll be up there again next weekend and maybe we can meet up then for some riding. I thought the snow was pretty marginal while I was out there so I spent about half the time skiing. To answer your question, It's pronounced knock, there is just an h that means nothing. Next time you're headed out let me know, and tell me what you're driving so I know when to look for you on the slopes. Those guys were all parallel parked in my spot right up on the hill again this weekend, so I asked one of them why, and he just stuttered some response about his truck being real big, I don't get it.

Pebu, not sure if you're still checking this, but i just heard that a few ski/snowboard teams will be up at crystal this weekend. the two i know of are WMU and Michigan State. Both teams have a few people who ride alpine set ups, so you should see a couple more than just me on the hill this weekend. Also, I'm heading up tonight so I'll be on the hill friday too. Haha, no I'm not one of those guys. I've always wanted to bring a pack of hot dogs and buns and invite myself to their nice hot grills though. You can always count on at least one of them being out there. My truck is a light blue chevy 1500 and its the only one you'll see with a thule rack on top of a tanneau cover and a ski rack on top of that. I'll be riding an old blue burton factory prime or a pair of volkls. And I always wear a white and black jacket that says Knoch above the left breast pocket.

I'll be up there the 13th and 14th also. The easiest way to tell if I'm there is to look for my blue chevy pickup in the buck lot. It had a tanneau cover on the back and a ski rack on top of that. You can't miss it, I always park backed up to the hill where everyone has been parallel parking this season. And on a good day, I'll be switching between skis and a board about once an hour right there. maybe ill see you out there.

Pebu, do you board at Crystal, or one of the other mountains near by? I'm one of those people that is at Crystal a lot. All of the people on alpine boards there that I have met have been a lot of fun. And basically, all of us are looking to learn from eachother, so it shouldn't be any suprise to any of us to be approached. I'm up at Crystal as many weekends as i can be because I have a season pass too. Looks like this weekend probably isn't going to happen but probably the next 2 or 3 after that. Maybe i'll see you out there.

Jenny, good luck at nationals. Also tell all of the Michiganders i said good luck at nationals. If you are unsucessfull in finding a pair of bindings for whoever it is, i might be able to work something out to send mine out there with Patrick. I broke my board a week ago and am in the process of acquiring a new one, but in the meantime i have a pair of burton plates sitting boardless. They aren't the best, but they would work.

They made a wide model of the burton speed. It rides very similar to a factory prime in my opinion. You should set yourself up with one of those.
