  1. Bindings, nidecker carbon, el hefes, now o-drives and Jones Apollos are what I’d look at. The Apollo is a softer version of the o drive. In a size 12 boot 275 width should be close to the sweet spot. Maybe 28. i ride a 11.5 boot and 275 is as wide as I can go without losing power.
  2. Coiler BX FR mine is 275 wide. best softboot ride ive had .
  3. Ohh man, loved my burner.
  4. Yup, love mine, last board I bought before my long riding hiatus. Its the second best board I’ve had, but maybe the best for me as it demands less than some of the others I have.
  5. Wow, that’s a great description of how my Kesslers works. Really though, this should be true with most modern high end boards. Haven’t been on a thirst so not sure if I’m missing something special. Sometimes I read people’s descriptions of riding one and it’s exactly how I described riding a Kessler or coiler NSR coming from old stuff like sims burners or something and makes me wonder what that guy was on before the thirst?
  6. So, I’m amazed at the love the flows get. I had honestly hoped the drawbacks from damn near 20 years ago were fixed.... after having a pair of current NX2 GTs, I can’t say I like them. They feel dead underfoot, getting them to work with a boot can be difficult if it’s not a flow boot. Can feel the cable stretch on heelsides, little bit bouncy. To get them responsive I have to crank them down, hurts my feet. I tried, I couldn’t like them, performance was quite good just too much bs to get them to work and pain, most modern binding have eliminated all of these things. El hefes are a little softer but you get plenty of board feel without it being soft. o drives, mmmm yes, that’s what I like. BTW, the heel hoop thing is mostly in your head with flow as they tend to run a bigger gap between boot and high back that pretty much any other modern binding. Yes I know it’s way up high but the heel of your boot counts too and that should be in the same place as any other binding. Drawback to the o drives are, not a ton of adjustment, can’t rotate highback and no canting options like ride offers.
  7. Hey, a hangl is just a sliding axle type system for each individual foot. But yeah, correct. As far as iron rock goes, I’m guessing both parties feel entitled to the design, a case where an athlete decided to bring what he felt was his tech with him. I think that system might be a dead end anyway, too much metal flexing even the one with the springs sound problematic.
  8. @Puhutes were you talking of developing a step in that was different than intec? Felt like you said something about it. Was this a binding or a standard?
  9. You know, I’m glad someone mentioned fatigue. Since I first saw an Alflex flexing I’ve been waiting for someone to post pictures of one that has blown up. I’ll stick with laminate plates for now.
  10. BUMP for use and new price, gonna have Bruce build a replacement with some metal
  11. Hahaha, he hit titcomb too!
  12. Too narrow and small for me but daaaaaaaamn. That thing is sexy!
  13. If you get desperate later in the year remind me that you have them via PM and can maybe work something out.........
  14. Price drop and bump, 420 shipped if you have a set of now o-drives you want to unload we can make a deal too!
  15. Wow, that apex x looks like a SG plate in some ways. First time on plates this year today, been softbooting. Moved my axle in a a set of inserts, it’s crazy now, I’m fat I but still can pedal a lot. Its amazing how different the feel is with moving a single part.
  16. A custom coiler with all the trimming comes in at like 650, worth it.

    Flow NX2-GTs

Have maybe five days on them, tried to like the things but rear entry is a pain in the ass. once in, they aren’t bad but I’d rather do straps. 220 shipped conus. Pics to follow.
  18. Depending on the conditions, yes, but other times it’s a huge benefit.
