  1. my solution (BTW this week I bananahammocked with +15-15 in that same bindings-boots): think about that as noboarding with board attached :) but this solution - not on hammock sure :) - gives pretty sufficient control even in hardpacked freeride situations.. but when you need to optimize for backcountry - I'll optimize for walking & uphill, not for downhill lowa civetta mountaineering outer boots, intuition power wrap liners (molded years ago into long gone raichle325, and used in lowas without re-baking!), fin's race carbon - UBER-light bindings, seems like 2-3 times lighter than f2 race ti, and very low profile which is goood. support - comparable to softer softboot+softbinders setup
  2. moguls is my love zone, and my hack on breathing is just sing a [random] song... it gives your ride a rhytm, adds to your tranquility, and keeps breathing active. yes, breathing is a PROBLEM in high stress rides. just murmur a little and relax :)
  3. there're no old parts in completely-new-built-from-scratch binders. so maybe - for example - bails can be compatible with f2, but other parts can be completely different
  4. my personal point is when I came over any platform angling thru catek os1 and bomber td2 - to f2 race with older springier thin bails with both feet flat -- the only expenditure part are bails (approx. 1 per loong season). if I have source of replacement for them - I became completely stuffed & happy for years :) plastic parts of f2 is no problem at all, under-platform nuts when set initially flat is a dependable part too. and I'm pretty heavy and aggressive rider.
  5. what kind of info? all is clear, no revolution - just some evolution. just need some reviews.. ballhead nuts for bolts is so actual when usings angling shims, and replacement bails specialized for northwave/ski boots - i didn't know that standard bails have problems coz i didn't use fashionable vintage northwave laboutins or ski boots...
  6. not slightly. they use general proflex scheme, yes - but all of elements are redesigned, as sg' engineer wrote in quote above. general motivation is unknown - maybe they have some spare money to prove that they simply can! ;)
  7. msrp 349EUR from sg' engineer failbook: Differences are manifold, apart from being engineered newly from ground up. We are for example using a ball head principle to straightly mount the bracket screws, unlike other competitors that have a serious breakage problem there. We are utilizing tempered 6mmø stainless bails with a geometry that actually prevents the buckle from falling down into the snow and getting caught under the edge. The option to get an original lower bail for Northwave or ski boots. Stainless Allen key hardware (including a high quality allen key) for all screws on the bindings. Its one Binding for all sizes of Snowboard Boots, the brackets can (albeit using tools and threadlock) be adjusted to fit all standard boots. my view is it is romantic renovation take on proven and true proflex, but.. $360 is lotta money for not so original take.
  8. hi, maybe some insiders here who've took turn or two on them, or at least know what the point in producing (maybe better quality, but) clone of f2 race for some big extra EURs?
  9. another one: http://www.pogo.biz/snowboards/powdersurfer/asueto.html
  10. surfy-filly... not really splitboard but my backcountry setup, board may vary, used along with approach skis/snowshoes/crampons/whichever... really nice to live in one pair of boots for days in backcountry due to intuition liners: boots stays outdoor nightly, and then warmed up for 10secs over gas - and you have warm and dry boots every day for days fin's race carbon retro binders lowa civetta outer shells libtech banana hammock 165 surfy megastar
  11. montane extreme smock works for me (over single icebreaker 260 tech top). attachable VERY warm hood (practically never used). it is -20C in the photo. it is cold weather pile+pertex shell and i really LOVE it. too warm for -5C and up though jacket non-anorak version available too
  12. palau overlap hard rockfoot edition (or soft if you're lightweight) in head stratos pro work wonders (and I love original head liners, but they're worns out rather fast in 40-50 days)
  13. sure it is, with alternating cabin-chair loader. doppelmayers staff came after and do many kinds of checks and investigations, and got nothing: it is wind gust + loose signal cables (?), and definitely if people have been in that chair - it won't disengage.... so, that lift again have all checks & paperworks done and back in operation, but operating officers decided to use only cabins not chairs for now... it is rather unimportant (for local ski area) lift though, serving distant beginner slopes
  14. there's TWO similar accidents in Russia on NY hoildays.... one my own home resort of Sheregesh, and second - on Kamchatka. seems like Jan-2016 anomaly over the globe :) ours: http://mustag.ru/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=59702&start=1020#p1082231
  15. ok, I'll try. last year I rode a bunch (5 or 7) of OES test-boards here in Siberia - and found one single 164fc (164sl then) which I definitely love, so - this two newlyborns (one stiff and camberfull, don't know how I'll like virtually absent rockers on tip and tail coz I usually ride offpiste on them, second seems like normal). I found 164 prototype of last year having lovely aggressive pogo overdose-style fun-slalom character, I rode it all over the mountain (rockers work wonders in shallow powder), including cat-skiing guiding on it - I was happy having it my go-to board for 3 month (changing it to others only for powder)
  16. http://imgur.com/a/gOWhj/all - two hungry sistas :) http://oes.cat/index.php/en/freecarving/164fc
  17. seems to me that main problem not in slow mo, but in complete underpoweredness of this gaget - not a single dynamic moment in whole video, regardless of cinematography
  18. it's sport - all the successes and failures abound. on vic's performance - russian proverb will be "music was ordered by those who pay". and never mind - I personally think that overspendings on wintersports gonna be terminated almost now, though the show is over
  19. and strangely none of [prototypical] f2 race WORLD CUP bindings announced for 14-15
  20. congats for Vic Wild locals. he's pretty awesome machine that man!
