  1. I would choose my sidecut radius depending on where I ride and how much space I have at my disposal. If you mostly ride crowded places or narrow slopes, go for the smaller sidecut. On open slopes with fewer people, I love to make long turns on large sidecut radius. Thats why I mostly ride GS board with sidecuts lager than 18m. But I have enough space and it's not crowded. Also I don't get hit by some mad downhill bomber, because our slopes are visible from a long way. Regarding a softboot board with 17m; This seams to be a bit long in relation to the relativelly "short" edge it has. If you ride longer Radius you automatically need higher speed and therefore a longer edge provides the needed stability (e.g. GS Boards are >=185cm, eff. edge ±170cm). Probably 14.5m is the right choice for carving and 17m is more for the border cross athletes, where not carving but speed is the main purpose. And after all 14.5m is not a small sidecut at all. But Ryan seems to be happy with 18m
  2. If you go for the Eliminatior I would take the titanal version. A lot smoother ride than the carbon one: https://www.ebay.de/itm/274554497268 Or you go for the real good stuff and buy a Oxess BX. They have some nice ones on sale. Just contact them. http://oxess.ch/files/241/bx-boards-sale.pdf

  7. The name Worldcup on the F2 Speedsters is a bit misleading, because they are not ridden in Worldcup. Therefor F2 offers the Proto series, which are actually ridden by the worldcup riders. In comparison Protos (titanal) are their custom boards, Worldcup (titanal) are their higher class and Equipe (TX with carbon or glass) their basic serial production boards. The fact that F2 is mostly ridden by female pros doesn't mean, that F2 Speedsters are specifically made for woman. In fact women usually ride shorter (157 SL for slalom or 179 RS giant slalom) and man longer models (163 SL and 185 GS) with different flexes for the intended riders. For the Proto series they offer different flexes for the same length. Comparing the F2 Speedster Worldcup GS 185 (owned one) and the F2 Speedster Proto GS 185 (still own), I found the Proto even better, because it's edge hold and smoothness are superior to the Worldcup. Comparing them to my other boards (Oxess, SG, Coiler) they both are more on the aggressive, more demanding side. But I love the Proto a lot.
  8. I think NSR means "new school racer" which is the RACE model. Correct me if I'm wrong.
  9. Didn't now those. I'm curious if this thin layer is as durable as with my neoprene glue which is also polyurethane based.
  10. I would tread them with seamgrip, to reduce friction while protecting the fabric at the same time. That's what I do with all my gloves and mittens I wear for carving and I'm very happy. It's easy to apply, durable and you can renew it on stressed spots.
  11. Dear Hardbooter In the middle of summer a few "carving memories" from the pre-COVID era. Let's hope that we can continue snowboarding next season as usual. Best regards to all of you and a have a beautiful summer. The Moon&Carve Team

  15. Mostly Oxess, SG, Virus and Swoard. One slope was reserved for ECS and on the other slopes it was to steep for the skiers
  16. My new Oxess RG189 feels fine between my other boards Tomorrow I'll have my first full day on it

  18. Looking at the F2 Speedsters RS 185, the Proto is a handmade custom board and is not made at the same factory as the World Cup which are their top-line serial boards. I personally prefer the Proto, because it has a better dampening and phenomenal edge hold. I sold the WC I once owed and kept the Proto (2016). But It also depends what year the board is built. For example the Proto from 2014 were quite different (less aggressive) from the Protos of 2016ff. Compared to SG's Full Race Pro Team 185 (which is exactly the same as the SG Full Race Titan, except design and price) , the F2 Spreedster Proto is more aggressiv and lighter (less metal) to ride. On the other hand the SG Full Race is smoother and more forgiving and I prefer it, when the snow is softer. The nose of the SG is more decambered than the F2's. Right now I love my Oxess RG185/19 the most, because it has the the same phenomenal edge hold as the F2, but rides as effortless as the SG. But Oxess vary, because they are custom made and you have to work out your preferences with the manufacturer. In the end it's always a matter of personal taste. I have friends who love the Protos most, others prefer the SG's, Oxess. If you have the possibility, I would recommend you, to test ride the boards.

  23. I noticed that UPZ XC12 and Swoards EC12 do not have the same spring box. Would be interested in the other differences of the two and what the advantage of the EC12 spring box over the XC12 is.
