  6. Did you mean this one? http://alpinesnowboarder.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Physics-of-a-Snowboard-Carved-Turn.pdf Collection is here: http://alpinesnowboarder.com/tech-articles/
  7. Same product different brand: https://www.tradeinn.com/snowinn/en/toko-edge-tuner-world-cup-220-v-eu/137108476/p ... and several orders where shipped to me, so the shop seam to be trustworthy.
  8. I use this Tooltonic set: https://www.tooltonic.com/en/boxes/33-tuning-box-plus?search_query=roto&results=4 Pricy but worth it. You get -1 and -0.5 deg tools for the base and an adjustable tool for the side wall side of the edge. Diamond file and roto-finish (also diamond) are included - also the ABS Sidewall plane, so you don't have to file it down with the (diamond-)files. Both; regular file for bigger nicks or very blunt edges and diamond for resharpening and finish.
  9. Just to prevent confusion eventually caused by the typo; the boots are called UPZ RC10, where the currently available model is called UPZ RC12.
  10. Hope to read a review soon and wonder how the Worldcup compares to the "normal" Alpine. .. and I don't mind the flames as long as it rocks the hill

  12. I know, for many people it's not easy, but the best way to get healthy food is to cook your own meal's with unprocessed, fresh ingredients. Skip or reduce food with a brand on it. It's easier to skip that nestle-kraft-heinz-danone-mars garbage, if you look at their ingredients and inform yourself about the effect it has on your body. For people who think they have no time for cooking, meal prepping is a good tool to save time and still have your own healthy food. I think it's worth to the spent extra time and do something good to your body; you are what you eat... Regarding processed food and weight: A lot of processed food has too much sugar in it, where no sugar is needed or unhealthy oil and fat with saturated fatty acids not good for your health. This is because sugar and this kind of fat are cheap ingredients, both are flavor carriers and your sense of taste will get hooked on this processed food and out of tune. Most of the processed food has to much short chain carbohydrates (like the sugar mentioned) which rise the blood sugar level too fast and if these calories are not used by your brain or muscles, they are stored as fat reserves in your body and you are hungry again. This leads to more weight and a higher risk of diabetes. If you eat the same amount of calories but reduce this kind of carbohydrates and shift more towards healty fat or oil with unsaturated fatty acids and proteins, the blood sugar level will rise slower, be more stable and you will feel saturated longer and not hungry so fast, because the calories are not in your fat depots, but is longer available in your blood to do the physical and mental work you have to do. This way you don't have to eat all time and get fat, while still be full of energy.
  13. Here he explains his riding style (use autotranslated subtitles, if your not russian speaking).
  14. Well that's because I was there Here's a playlist with the videos of every year:

  16. This was the first edition held 2017 in Austria:
  17. Red Bull EDGE a fun carving event. Here's the director's cut of the 2023 edition, perhaps some are interested to watch:
  18. Also consider: PANASONIC Lumix DC-GX9: - comparable size - not as high frame rates as the Sony (only 60 fps @ FHD) - Electronic view finder integrated - wide range of lenses available from different brands (micro four thirds) Other brands like Canon, Olympus etc. have cameras with a similar form factor but do not offer same features for the price. Redbull Edge is a really cool event. I participated at their first in 2017 in Austria and it was a lot of fun. Unfortunately there is no European edition anymore (only Japan).
  19. As a cheaper, but a bit less portable alternative to the Sony RX100 mk7, you could also go for the SONY ZV-E10 in the kit. It has interchangeable lenses and a bigger sensor and is therefor a bit better in low light conditions than the RX100. Regarding slow motion the limit for both is 120 fps @ FHD. This is where most smartphones surpass photo cameras, reaching up to 960 fps.
  20. @Jack M I really like your smooth carving, seen in the video where you ride your new 185 Winterstick; just love it. I can totally understand, that if one has reached such a high level in carving competence in a certain style, that it seems odd, when someone goes another route. When I first saw a video of EC, I seriously thought this was too "extreme" . But I still was curious about, what all the fuzz was about. So I went to their Extreme Carving Sessions in Zinal multiple times to learn from the gurus and licked blood. It was fun and worth the effort. Nowadays I'm not so much into pure EC anymore, but I know it works and you can also apply the technique on imperfect slopes, if you avoid laydowns. @Jack M The following question is difficult for me to ask, because I don't want to criticise anyone, but I'm sincerely interested. So I ask it straight. Have you ever seriously tried to learn and work on the EC technique the way the Swoard guys propose?
  21. In this video one can see the main problem of most beginners in EC, a too late "push and pull". One should be low in the traverse already, before the edge change, meaning before topple from the heel to the toe edge. One should be in this position (like sitting on the back of your board): The upper body and CM is still over the edge and not leaning towards the snow. In this position one tips over to the toe edge. Only then apply preasure by straighten your legs and push until your turn reaches the fall line (legs should not be completly streched out for shock absorbtion). Here is a nice sequence of Jaques, showing the complete sequence of EC technique. A good exercise is to traverse in the position I show in the upper image above, change the edge in this position and then push. Do not stand up before and keep your knees bent and your upper body upright.
