  1. Hi there, Carver from southern California coming your way next week, heading up to Whistler. Sounds like its been wet and a little warm the last few weeks? Bringing a 177 Nirvana but trying to figure out what else might be needed.
  2. Someone needs to start providing all of the HSP modifications (fit BTS, trim/sand wings, reassemble with friction-reducing hardware, ankle buckle relocation to prevent clashing, etc.) as a professional service. I want to do all of this to my set but am apprehensive about ruining a nice new pair of boots. I asked one of the local bootfitters about this and they just looked at me like I was insane, so I'm continuing to use my very old but functional Suzukas for now.
  3. June was phenomenal today. Saw Tom, Terry, Thomas and Carlo. I had a chat with Eric. He's good with setting us up for 3/5-6, barring any major powder event on that weekend. He can help with a mid-day groom, Gunsmoke roped off private for us, locker/tables/bbq at the base of chair 4. Let's do it!
  4. I can do 4/2, but the way this season is going, it may be full hot spring by then. I'm heading up tomorrow. I'll try to find Eric on Sunday to talk about this further.
  5. I'm going to be up and riding on the 3/5-6 regardless. If consensus is another weekend, someone else needs to help take the reins. I cant get back up there until the first weekend in April.
  6. I'll probably bring up the GS Kessler and the 178 Tinkler TNT. Regular ride with be the Nirvana or Madd.
  7. What the heck happened to my post? I wrote a long update about two weeks about about 3/5-3/6 looking good for Eric and the June patrol crew. Let's do it. Who's in?
  8. Your Mammoth ticket will work at June, but without a car there is only one bus each way each day. Scroll down here for more info: http://www.mammothmountain.com/winter/plan-a-vacation/plan-a-vacation/area-transportation
  9. How come I keep missing you guys at June? I've run into Terry and Frank, but no one else.
  10. Stump Alley for a good warm up. Its super wide and a good pitch but gets stupid crowded as the day goes on. Start there, then perhaps head to the backside (Chairs 13-14) to avoid some of the crowd and get some variation in pitch. Since you'll be there on the weekdays, it should stay nice and empty though, and you can probably get away with a GS board if you're used to that turn size. For steeps, Cornice and Scotty's can be good carving if groomed. St. Anton to the race courses (Andy's double gold, etc) are also good carving with lesser crowds. Mellower groomed stuff by Eagle and Canyon would be runs like Bridges, Christmas Tree, Hully Gully. For a bit steeper, if groomed runs off of chair 25 such as Haven't the Foggiest and Back for More are pretty good on that side of the mountain. I, along with likely many others here, recommend you take at least one day during your trip and do the quick 15 minute drive up to June Mountain. Gunsmoke is essentially the mother of all moderate perfect carving pitch runs, and some of us spend entire days trenching up that perfect run. On the J7 side, Schatzi, Matterhorn and Deer Bowl are also top notch carving and slightly steeper than Gunsmoke. Being a weekday, you will likely be the only one on the entire run at June so bring the big boards and let 'er rip.
  11. I'm heading up there in a few hours. I'll try to find Eric or Carl tomorrow.
  12. I can't do 19-20. Can we aim for 3/5-3/6?
  13. I'll take next in line, 3rd spot or whatever it may be.
  14. Yeah, we will get something set up. I'll get in touch with them either this or next weekend. Dates? How about 3/12? Just throwing it out there.
  15. Good carving conditions, but the holiday crowds are in full force, so plan your big turns carefully. Snow is packed pow and quick grippy. Coverage is solid nearly everywhere so you can skip the rockboard for now.
  16. I'm trying my best to be there 25th through the 3rd and will probably hit June more than Mammoth to avoid much of the crowds.
  17. I rode today, but winds kept shutting down many lifts and concentrating the crowds. I'm going to try to get a bit of the fresh tomorrow morning before heading back down to LA.
  18. I'm in class most of that day, otherwise I would be there. I also haven't been able to go pick up most of my gear (other than a new-to-me FC171) from the mountains since I haven't been up since forever.
  19. Whats the width on the plate itself? How narrow of a board will it comfortably fit? Edit: Nevermind, I see in your FAQ that its been tested down to 18cm, Thanks!
  20. No problem, just sent you an email. :)
  21. Claude at skinetsports is pretty good, quite knowledgeable and thorough, however the real issue is that you can't immediately try out any potential boot fittings that he performs and go back for easy adjustments. On mountain spots like Footloose are much more useful in that way.
  22. Up for sale is a set of Bomber Trench Digger 2 Step-ins, with yellow (soft) elastomers, and 3/6 degree disks. Also included are upgraded steel receivers (retail $49). Used but in bomb-proof great shape. SOLD.
