  1. In Mammoth itself? Very unlikely. Wave Rave used to have some real old Burton boards lying around but not boots.
  2. Upper left specs sheet and lower right metal sidewall picture are reissues though. Rest are text and pictures from the originals, and yes the base is really something special. The metal Madd experiment was an interesting one. I'm regretting letting the metal 170 reissue go now that I'm thinking about it. Bonkers camber on that thing. Gilmour posted original specs and reviews on the old old old Catek site many years back: http://www.catek.com/forum/read.php?f=1&i=1041&t=653
  3. Sounds good. Looking forward to seeing all of you. I think most of us are planning to park a 2 and ride mostly around Main. Heading down to Canyon or Eagle is generally a bad idea, but with the colder temps this past week and through this weekend, the prime time window should last longer at least.
  4. I'm planning to drive my 05 LGT (Bilsteins, Twinscroll, etc. :)) into the ground. Love it, and I can't find any other car to replace it!
  5. June is basically done for the season. They closed J4/J6 after Saturday, and on Sunday the connector from the top of bunker hill down to J7 was nearly gone. Once that goes, they'll probably shut down for good. Even Mammoth today was fairly questionable. Canyon and Eagle are completely out of the question, and even the lower half near Main has a lot of brown. We'll do it next week at Mammoth, but spring conditions are in full force. Bring your Zardoz!
  6. Hey Tom, Dates look to be next weekend, the 21st and 22nd, however the location seems to be still somewhat up in the air. Some of us have been chatting about it on FB over the last few days. Up top at June is decent, but given the recent heat as well as possible rain mid-week, June might not be the place to go. Sounds like we'll play it by ear as the week progresses between Mammoth and June. Let's all stay up to date here in this thread to keep the info moving. Hope to see you all soon!
  7. I got the whole range of originals to compare to, which includes two classic 58s (and they both have individual characteristics of course!). Also, I'm the dumbass who pulled the inserts on my 180 and gimped my knee. I need to helicoil or tnut that bastard before I would feel comfortable riding it again.
  8. Glad to hear these are working out so well! So the Madd Killer beats the original 158 in all aspects, or most of them? How about board feel? How much metal/rubber/carbon can you feel or not feel in the killer vs the original? Have you also tried an Angrry?
  9. Decent chance I'll be up there too. Been meaning to hit up June, and now that they actually got a decent amount from the last system (at least for this season), it looks to be worth the visit.
  10. Coverage is pretty good by main. It is mostly safe to bring out your good gear as long as you stay on the groom on that side of the mountain. However you'll start to see some rock floaters heading even slightly towards Canyon, in the Roller Coaster area. Upper 5 is alright. Stay away from Eagle.
  11. For Socal, April in Mammoth is still usually quite good in an average year, however they do not typically have night skiing. Big mountain long runs with serious steeps and good groomed carving will be available to you though.
  12. The ability to suppress displaying avatars and signatures for a cleaner and simpler look.
  13. Strong chance I'll be up for that weekend, and the back again for most of the holiday week.
  14. So very unexpected. I know there were some small rumors a few months back but it sounded like speculation and it has been quiet ever since. This is out of left field. I guess some local riding may take place this year!
  15. Congrats Jack, I'm sure you'll treat that little lady just right.
  16. Strong chance I'll be there this weekend. Torn meniscus and will have to ride light, but will park at 2 and look for you guys.
  17. Up for sale is a set of Bomber Trench Digger 2 Step-ins, with yellow (soft) elastomers, and 3/6 degree disks. Also included are upgraded steel receivers (retail $49). Used but in bomb-proof great shape. $215, which includes shipping to the lower 48.
  18. Not I, but last weekend was actually really pretty decent. Surprisingly, Canyon runs stayed in better shape than Stump and Main.
  19. Bryan, is Mike only making iso-plate systems at this point? Or would he still build a slider split plate like the previous generation?
  20. Zardoz notwax works pretty well for spring slop.
  21. Very nice. What makes this a v2.0? The change to a VSR sidecut? Any flex or materials changes?
  22. Antler bar anyone? Just sat down by the window. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk
  23. Same here, let's do June today. Heading out right now, sorry for the tardiness.
